I think a lot of producers have the opinion that it should be felt more than it's heard, because it tends to overpower the other instruments. It works if the intention is to have loud dominating bass.
My favorite riff is the one that goes DUN DA DUN DUN DA DUN DA DUN DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA DUN DA DUN DUN DA DUN DA DUN DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADUN DA DA DUN
That breakdown riff in Clockworks is, on paper, easy. But up to speed, it's fucking weird to play cleanly. It's a super cool rhythm with the hammer on in it. Really breaks up the 16th notes, even though the actual rhythm is the same. It just sounds different than playing the 16th notes straight and I'm all for it.
Hey brother i wanna develop my right hand to your level....im not talking about this song but other songs which you covered with your right hand...is it possible to have one :one classes with you...do let me know..
@@antaresrisen well firstly it’s a google search a way, second it only makes sense: meshuggah played a half step down on seven string guitars with bass playing the octave, up until nothing in 2002, where they changed to eight string guitars. instead of tuning down into a pretty low and quite frankly nearly impossible to tune to and even hear note (F0), the bass was instead tuned up half a step to match the guitars. the bass is now in drop Bb because it allows old and new material to be played live
The actual Bleed bass line sound is pretty muddy (when isolated) and isn't worthy of being a top-50 Meshuggah bass line if using official studio sound plays a factor in rankings

Bass is just so damn beautiful. Never will understand why some bands bury it in the mix on their records.
Justice for Jason

Fukn sick
Is it at the same octave from guitars?
all but new millennium cyanide christ and any songs before nothing for that matter
Basiclly these are the best Meshuggah songs.
Ehmmm... yes?!
What kind of bass is this? it looks quite a bit like the Ibanez Paul Staley used and I love the body.
That's a Chrono by Overload Guitars 🔥
@@DannArisi thanks bro. That thing is sick. Very nice playing btw. Are those nordstrand pickups?
What guage of strings?

That's a Chrono 5 Multiscale by Overload Guitars
@@DannArisi is that a custom one? Because I can't figure out how to work it
@@caedanlowry8756 yeah exactly, if you check it out on @overloadguitars on Instagram, that's on sale 🤘

@@caedanlowry8756 1900€
What’s the tuning.I can’t find a straight answer.I know he switches depending on the guitars.
I don't remember exactly 😅, drop B or drop A#
I looked it up a few months ago, and iirc it's standard half-step down (A# or Gb on 7 string, F on 8)
From lowest to highest on a 5 string it’s: A#, F, A#, D#, G#
toccata piano ;)
bleed?
BLEED????????
The actual Bleed bass line sound is pretty muddy (when isolated) and isn't worthy of being a top-50 Meshuggah bass line if using official studio sound plays a factor in rankings
If I may, I think you should mute your strings on the head of your bass. Heard a lot of undesired resonance.
totally out of tune:/
