Thank you for all the well wishes and support. This is a great example of why training, raising and socializing your dog properly giving them the best life is so important. This entire situation could have been far worse for my Cane Corso Bruce Wayne if we did not go to great lengths to put him in so many different situations and environments helping him be adaptable to situations. Any dog you get you are signing up to take care of them through life, the good times and the bad. Give your dog the life they deserve, it is never too late no matter how old they are. Im so glad BW is okay. And props to both you and Kara for your quick notice and action. I just wanted to know if you guys would consider putting BW temporarily on a prescription dog food as originally recommended by the original veterinarian if he gets crystals again? From what I was told, the prescription dog food is the medical treatment as it works with the dogs body to naturally break down the stones and not to think of it necessarily as food in the same sense as regular dog kibble. It doesn't mean BW will have to be on the diet for the rest of his life but at least until there's no more stones (if they start to come back). Dogs naturally have a more acidic urin but if it becomes too alkaline then struvite and some other crystals can grow. Certain bacteria can cause the urine to become alkaline as well.
I WOULD BE KISSING MY DOG RIGHT ON LIPS LOL. I REMMEBER SO VIVIDLY HAVING BOTH OF MY PUGS AT DIFFERENT TIMES IN DOCTORS OFFICE, ONCE IN HOSPUITAL, I WAS A WRECK. I WAS OUTSIDE THE BUILDING AGAINST THE BRICK WALL CRYING.
And thanks for emphasizing the need for pet insurance. Very important.

I cried when BW and Justice saw each other again. So heart warming.
This makes me cry! I know what you guys are going through. We went through the very same thing 4 years ago. My Rocky (Boston Terrier) had the same surgery. We had to act so very fast because he had a complete blockage because of the bladder stones. Rocky was even trying to go inside the house, but the carpet remained dry. That is when I knew something was seriously wrong. We took him to the emergency vet and they took an x-ray of him and that is how they found three stones in his bladder. That was very hard on me and I never wish to repeat that ever again. Bruce Wayne get well soon. You are a unicorn!

Even without pet insurance that is an AMAZING deal. We paid out of pocket 5,200 for a endoscopy for our Rottweiler, we couldn't get pet insurance unfortunately because it was a preexisting condition and they refused to cover it. You guys are amazing pet parents and Bruce and Joey are very glad to have you

Back in the day my daughter had a 70% wolf 15% malamute and 15% husky
She waa 120 pounds at the time and looked like a timber wolf
She started having problems with her fur. Keep in mind 2 layers of fur and we'd be pulling it out by the handful when brushed. Took her to vet. Vet said looked like skin conditon. They shaved her except head and a pom pom on her tail
That poor dog was so embarrassed
She'd hide behind us and look to see if the coast was clear to go to the bathroom
Unfortunately, we were baby sitting a yellow neck amazon parrot. Foul mouth and laughs loudly
Jordan, our wolf-dog, went to go out and the parrot laughed at her
So she would wait til the parrot was asleep.and walk up to het cage and go woof. Parrot was so scared it woke up on the bottom of the cage, screaming. Be there when they do surgery or different procedure than you signed up for. Our dog's fur came out white, so she looked like a white wolf
I cried when I saw Bruce leaving the hospital. It's not just a dog, it's a son! Jason and Kara, you are excellent parents! congratulations! God bless you! São Paulo/Brazil 🎉🎉🎉

We have insurance on ourselves, only makes sense to have insurance on our pup. Our pet insurance covers pretty much everything 80% including well visits. Best decision we’ve ever made. Glad he’s back home with y’all.

I am not a vet but had a Bichon that had surgery twice for bladder stones. They kept putting her on special food, but nothing helped until I put her on distilled water. She never had another UTI or surgery. Can't hurt to try.

Also Jason, it’s okay to feel your feelings. We raised up our son to understand that men have feelings too and they can express them just like women do and there is nothing wrong with expressing your feelings be them sad, happy, mad and crying. Feel your feelings.
