How to Mount an Engine to an Engine Stand (FOOL PROOF)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 жов 2024
- In this video, we strip the engine block down to the point where we can mount it on our engine stand. Since removing it from the engine bay, there a a few things to strip. I was somewhat skeptical with only installing 4 small m10x1.5 bolts through the engine stand and into the engine block. They were grade 8 bolts and I was informed that they would indeed be strong enough, but it just doesn’t feel right. Anyways, if you are looking to buy the same bolts I used to mount my engine to the engine stand, you will need M10x1.5 x 100mm bolts, 4 of them to be more specific, along with 2 M10x1.5 nuts.
On a side note, getting some kitty litter will 100% be helpful since if you’re taking your engine apart, there are many different fluids that will spill onto the ground, so be sure to get some to clean up your messes (I wish I was sponsored by arm & hammer so I could get free kitty litter lol)

Well. Looks like I’m gonna be on the toilet for another 18 minutes
There with you buddy
hahahahaha
I would put an old tire under the engine, on the motor mount stand, just in case something fails
that guy took the engine out like its nothing and here's me still finding ikea's stuuf hard to build
Loca's Lense easy to take stuff apart, harder to put back in ! Lol always have that problem
@@veggiej35 Always take pictures as you're taking things apart...this makes it much easier to put back...oh and also labeling along with organizing bolts in order of when they go back on.
I'm thoroughly enjoying your videos. Thank you for working so hard to show us what you're doing with your mini.
Can’t wait for the next video on where to find the cause of misfiring in cylinder 4. Good luck on your engine rebuilding, Milan
Paolo Inigo Yeah I’m on board with you because I have that misfire on my 2008 s I don’t having I can do now I got a pull the motor to
Is everyone looking out for Sarah - n - Tuned comments? 'Coz you can find them on every car channel
Gedas alekveravičius same with gtr Wendy
You’ll be rebuilding in no time. Guess I should talk to you about synthetic fluids soon..
I sure hope so!! I'm not sure what fluids I'll be running in this thing, but I will need them sooner than later 👍
Great vid Milan, thanks for the effort in uploading even though you are sick. Hope you feel better soon buddy 👍👍👍 looking forward to seeing the next vid and the source of the missfire 😊😊😊👍👍👍
We really need see what was causing the misfire I'm really curious great video Milan
You should just ask Fastenal for a catalog lol that’s what I had to do. It saved so much time.
That's not a half bad idea.. I'll be sure to do that next time I go by there 👍
Ive seen more fixing on the mini than driving
"mini motor" - this sounds really funny
Wow another awesome video thanks for sharing
Minis are great cars to drive, like little go karts. But by fuck are they a nightmare when it comes to do any sort of mechanics repair or replacement on them.
You sure are right about that!!!
That intro alone made me hit the like button lol
This has to be the reason we don't see more minis at the track, Take months to fix lol Going to stay small on my mini setup, Thanks to your videos.. Are cars are race ready out the box compared to others....
Bro let me tell you this has to be the first channel that fully explains how to do something, specially and engine I’ve been a mechanic for almost 10 years now, and before I buy a mini I actually know what’s to be expected if I have to rebuild the engine, all thanks to you! Love your channel I’m definitely subscribing!
It's a little risky but my plan as of now is to remove my engine from the bottom of the car and then put it on a pallet, then after that I can have a couple people help get the engine/stand piece assembly onto the main part while someone puts the pin in and makes sure it's secure while it's slowly being lowered. I'll have most if not all of the accessories off and the oil drained before putting it on the stand to save weight. I've already removed all of the accessories except the AC compressor and I might remove the timing cover too since I plan on replacing it. Time to get Car Mechanic Simulator back on my laptop.
Thank you for your video help and support .in my opinion I can say that for all serious watchers I would follow your experience and knowledgeable videos for a well safe heavy duty jobs we encounter thank you
Your chains will outlast the straps not saying using straps is bad yeah you have the advantage of adjust a little easier but dont mislead by saying the chains will be worn in 5yrs they wont I'm using 30yr old 12ft chain to still pull people out of stuff those straps may last you a long time if taken cared for properly but its not comparable to the durability of chain and with that said it also comes fown to what you're building as well not all engines are the same
Bro, i love these videos so much!
Bro you can make a video cleaning the engine and the engine bay ?
Happily :)
Shardd and liked your video.
Milan need to know if you would do some work on my vechcile
Looks fantastic, congratulations and very best wishes for the future.
go single fly wheel
I need to find a kit that is single mass flywheel, with a SPRUNG clutch disc... Any help?
Defo don't do that. It's dual mass for a reason.
Hate to say it.. it might have just been the vanos solenoid. Good thing you planned on doing all this work anyways :)
alot of work for just a misfire
hello bro. im frm malaysia ( malacca historic city). i like all yr video. can i ask u ... can engine R53 change to R56. is there any video to guide this. tq
You ve perfect videos great explaianations view all that stuff just petfect! If you get a chanse make a assembly and disassembly manuel and automatic tansmission video like this Thank you Very much learn a lot from you !👍👍👍
nice vid man. can you please post part stores in Toronto for mini and Volkswagen? Still hammering at the VR6. Can't wait for the wife's mini rebuilt. 2 months away from the VR6 completion....cant it really be finished....lol
good video man
I wish you’d refer to the gearbox or transmission by its name. When you keep calling it a “tranny” my toes kinda curl, that’s something entirely different. 😬
Why do you have so much rust all over the motor?
No joke! This is a SCARY step and you made it look easy! The admonishments and forethought about weights and strength + torquing of bolts is right on! Super helpful video about something few attempt and NEVER cover in videos! Cheers!
Thanks for your video. With your comprehensive and knowledgeable presentation, I feel more confident about removing and working on my 2011 Mini cooper convertible.
Love the honesty and showing it's not a " easy " job. Good call on rebuilding. Upgraded parts and a full rebuild. You'll know and have peace of mind that you've done it all to your high standards. I know you don't plan on changing your DMF but look into it as your changing your clutch anyway and you're there. They do have a high failure rate from what I've read as people started doing conversions to single mass flywheels in modern cars at the expense of some vibration
Liking the videos planing on getting a mini next year. Taking notes on your build. Like what am seeing so far. Keep it up your doing a great job. If u don't mind me ask what year is your mini?
The start of this video would have been much more scary if it was uploaded in the last 2 months
Are you going to be replacing the clutch while you're at it? What are your thoughts on dual mass vs standard flywheels? Also performance lightweight flywheels vs standard?
Always enjoy watching your videos. Very informative and helpful even though i don't own mini still good to watch. Good Job keep it up Milan.
Just buy an LS crate engine and put it in somehow. First LS swapped mini!
That would be quite interesting!! Cramming it into my engine bay would be quite difficult to say the least
someone put a small block Chevy in a mini already check out on hoonigand
I completely forgot the reason for all this was a misfire😂
You're a pro!
Carbon fibre crash bar
What battery impacts do you use ?.. I need them in my life !
A+ that isn't easy
Here's why the oil cooler's sad. Because it gets always cold
Well presented. Good Job. BMW MINI RACING Should be sponsoring YOU🏎🏎👍
I'd be okay with that :D
Great vids man!! Really love the attention to detail being I have the same mini too!! Keep up the great work!! 👍👍
Than you will love the next video 👍
Wow mini love their torx bolts. Just like Apple, don't want anyone taking apart their stuff
Brendan Matthys I love torx because it's almost impossible to strip the head. Just invest in some sockets and they'll last you a lifetime!
These are my favorite videos to watch after school :)
What clutch do you plan on using to handle all that powa?
I'm genuinely not sure yet. I've been looking around as I want to convert to a SMFW with a sprung clutch, but finding that is more difficult than I thought
Good job 👍🏾 nice video man
why is he not wearing any nitrile gloves or mechanical gloves?? He is also eating an orange with dirty hands..
Detroit Tuned makes an awesome kit for all the seals and lines for the turbo
I will probably be getting their upgrade kit when everything goes back together :)
Weld fwd diff. I know wheel chirp, stress on CVs, but you wannabe a racer, not pro park master, also read there is a review of monstrous welded diff civic which controls extremely well.
+Locked diff works like ABS no-one locked or both locked.
+ A bit of understeer in entry of turn, monstrous grip in mid-turn and great exit!
+ If you wanna be turning you need to go on throttle.
+ You'll da' best on rainy days
+ Cheap
what color is the engine going to be?
Amazing job kiddo
This was very good man...
Cool video, again! Thanks!
Hard work finally pays off.
Slam it on tarmacs and daily it
Keep it up
Excellent video Milan!!!!
Clean work !! I love it !
🔥🔥🔥
Goooood luck 💪💪💪
Get well soon !
Thanks nice vídeo and good snack jiji
Ahah thanks Franciso :)
👍👍
🤘
Respect! 💪💯
Love your vids great work.
Thanks Mark!! :)
Amazing bro! 💪
Thanks buddy!! 👊👊
So excited to this build!
Glad to hear it man :)
Milan, when you're removing or installing those really tight flywheel bolts, just get about 3 feet of rope and feed it into one cylinder through the spark plug hole. When you get the cylinder up to TDC it'll stop against the rope and allow you to remove the bolts. That'll come in handy when you reinstall the flywheel and have to use a torque wrench instead of an impact gun.
I want to see if I can get my hands on the tool that holds the flywheel to the engine block. Good idea though :)
milanmastracci It's not my idea, it's an oldie but goodie. It's kinda like something grandpappy would have taught his kids while he wrenched on his Model A Ford. ;)
Hola
In this video you are working on a gasoline engine. A motor is powered by electricity. Just a FYI you often say both just a little tip.
