Hi, guys! Drooling here! I’m Brazilian and my parents are from Okinawa. I was there a year ago and I miss the convenience stores ! And miss all that tastes too!!! My grandpa makes the best ソーメンチャンプルー ever!
Watching one of your old videos vs your new videos, I've seen how much you two have grown as creators and it's so amazing to see! You were great at this time but your content creation has become even better and I'm so happy :D Also, you two have to be one of my favorite YT couples for sure. It's just natural and genuine on cam and I love it!
OMG❣️❣️❣️ Finally tried taco rice😽 Born raised on Okinawa but my family left Okinawa for USA almost 50 years ago so taco rice seemed very strange to me but I finally tried taco ingredients on rice instead of tortilla shells and now I'm addicted 💖
Ohh I love those regional treats testing, I bet it's super exciting for you too to explore new tastes. Loved the moment you tried the tofu and reacted the same :D everything looked soo delicious, thank you so so much for sharing ^^
My ex was Latin so I made lots of black beans and rice I make a dish similar to your taco salad. The only difference is I add black beans to it and top with sour cream and a few Fritos chips crumbled on top. You should give it a try very good. I like mine spicy so i add jalapenos lol. Always love y'alls videos!
Yes, I found this so interesting Shinichi! Loved it! Thank you💕I love ice cream sandwiches too Shinichi. And those sea grapes wow! Thanks Mindy’s mom for recommending that they be included. Funny how Satoshi described them! Love you guys as always ❤️
Okinawa soba? Looks delicious! I love Japanese noodle dishes! I woke up with a severely sore throat this morning and could hardly swallow. But I just had a hot bowl of ramen. Definitely my favorite comfort food.
You guys have got a lot of things to taste already.. nice! Food in Convenience stores was much better than some of best restaurants, specially Teriyaki sauce chicken and cheesy prawns pasta.. must try!
Thanks for doing a conbini taste test in Okinawa - how fun! Everything looked great. The tofu looked so delicious! Thanks to Mindy's Mom for recommending the sea grapes. I've always wanted to try them. They look beautiful, along with being yummy! I'm so glad you found the ice cream sandwich, too. Thanks for the wonderful video, and have a great meet up in LA today! Best wishes! :-)
Secret Diary of a Foodie Yes, I met them at the San Francisco Meet-up! It was such a great day. They are wonderful, and it was an honor to meet them in person. 😊
Formosa ice cream is what I remember growing up on Okinawa in the late 50s, early 60s. I love you guys❣❣❣ Keep up the great work❣ I've lived in Kentucky for the last 40 years.I was so happy when I found Tabieats on UA-cam. Now I watch you guys every chance I get😽💜🐈Hi Justin❣🐕
I have made your taco rice. Being vegan It's a Wonderful meal for me and I make my own taco seasoning. Your taco rice is one of the most awesome meals I have had! I rarely have tortillas in the house but I always have a big bag of rice and mock hamburger meat. I have even used TVP that of seasoned up so anyone reading this you can soak TVP with the taco seasoning and some water and it is lovely!
You guys are fantastic! I would love to see you both try to recreate these dishes for us so that we could make it at home. Especially that Somen dish. 😁
I cameback from japan last week. This is my 4th time. I really like convenien store products there. Everything so delicious. I hope some day i will go to okinawa. It isnt like japan at all. (Sometimes i feel like hawaii) Thanks for review.
They really do. My local convenience stores only have those nasty roller hot dogs and maybe some boring sandwiches. QT has pizza, but that’s about it. Why can’t we get really good stuff at Quik Trip or 7-11 here in the states? :(
The ice cream sandwiches do taste like Oreos. However, in Canada there are Oreo ice cream sandwiches. The cookies are larger and softer with ice cream in the middle.
Thanks so much for this taste test! I really would love to learn more about Okinawan food. I'm pretty addicted to jasmine tea for its lovely floral notes. And I want to try the seaweed and sea grapes. As always, thanks for your wonderful videos and enjoy your travels in California!
Okinawan tofu is best eaten when the vendor delivers it to the store fresh, hot and steaming. Much better than the ones in plastic packs. Some supermarkets in Okinawa will have a fresh tofu section with the delivery time posted to let customers know when the next fresh batch will arrive.
Just visited Okinawa and everything they say is TRUE! Food is inexpensive so your money goes a long way. Lawson's and Family Mart right across the street from our Hotel on Kokusai Street.
I've heard of "sea grapes" before, but I've never seen anyone try before. I want to try now! I love old style ice cream sandwiches! Reminds me of childhood, also! I may have to go buy some. ; ) Thanks for sharing, as always!
I wish our convenience stores of the US were nearly as good as your 7-Eleven, Lawson, and Family Mart... or that our dollar stores were as good as Daiso, Can Do, Seria and such. :P
Watching youtwo eat &share food it looks great. Very nice video clip and amazing too. You were great showing the world the most interesting types of foods. Thanks for the update.
First Spam Musubi talk and now Hawaii Elementary school, making me miss so much from childhood! Super glad I'm in Japan now though, all the goodies to try! =D.
I actually said Shinichi's line to myself before he did: I can't drink it because it's strong and I"ll just die! I love how you both had the exact same reaction to the tofu's taste at the same time :D When I was a university student, I worked at a restaurant and they had umibudo as part of the salad bar. The first time I prepared it, I stupidly rinsed it too long and everything became a soggy mess! I love those ice cream sandwiches!
That's odd about the sea grapes because here any shellfish that we purchase goes directly into the refrigerator so it doesn't die. Every state and town has ice cream sandwiches like you're eating now. I grew up with them my mother worked at the company that made them for a while and she used to bring home just the cookie part which is crunchy and awesome. But we can buy them anywhere including convenience stores! :-)
used to go to Family Mart a lot more than Lawson, if I remember right. i couldn't decide what to buy. lol. it's more fun at Okinawa convenience stores.
It's interesting how you guys wouldn't have ice cream sandwiches in placed like kakigori stands or supermarkets when there's stuff like the monaka bars, popsicles or chocolate covered ice cream bites....
My 7-11 experience in the USA is definitely not as good as yours. I have always felt it was risky eating their prepackaged foods (stomach aches). So I usually just got beef jerky and a slushie! It is so cool that you can get good food at convenience stores out there.
We’ve been to a few here. We like L & L That used to be in Shibuya..... pacific Drive Inn is pretty good too. But these would be Hawaii local food. Not Hawaiian Food. For that I hear a place called Ogo is good.
guys, 7-11 update as of 2-20-20, we are getting more 7-11 stores on okinawa. this started about late 2019, so when you guys made this video in april, 2017, there were no 7-11 stores here. I live in the uruma city area, and we have 3-4 stores. please come back to okinawa guys!!!!!!
4:15 That shared reaction was absolutely amazing.
Hi, guys! Drooling here!

And miss all that tastes too!!!
My grandpa makes the best ソーメンチャンプルー ever!
Sea grapes is called LATO here in the Philippines. We add vinegar and chopped red onion. Its a local legacy here.
I just found you both and don't know how I ever lived without you!👏🏻❤️👏🏻😊
Love this video. As an Okinawan American you make me want to travel to Okinawan right now. You guys rock!
You made me laugh when you said "I can't drink it because I'll just die" 😂😂😂😂😂
so cheap and substantial...love the vid guys as usual.
You both seem so relaxed and it comes across in this video. Keep up the fantastic work.
Thank you Mindy's Mom for requesting sea grapes!! I've always been curious about those too!!

Erin Uber did you get a chance to meet them in the US?

Satoshi's English has improved so much! :3
OMG I am soo happy you did a video on Okinawa. One of my places on my bucket list
Thank you for your videos. You make me happy.😍. Sending love from the US.
Those sea grapes were really interesting, would love to try that!
Your videos are always very good and interessting! I am looking forward to see more videos from you guys.
Brilliant video! I went to Okinawa this summer for a couple weeks and it was amazing, watching this has definitely made me want to go back 😊

peepbmw, you are correct, Okinawa is not like Japan, but it is definitely like Hawaii either.
Man, after watching your vlogs I've realized that the convenience stores here in the states SUCK lol
Love to you both 💜
Mary Kelly sakes in the UK. Stores sell rubbish and at twice the price!
Not cheap in the state I mean
The ones in Australia and NZ suck as well. They charge $6.00 for a pint of milk.
They really do. My local convenience stores only have those nasty roller hot dogs and maybe some boring sandwiches. QT has pizza, but that’s about it. Why can’t we get really good stuff at Quik Trip or 7-11 here in the states? :(
But what about wawa? :(
The ice cream sandwiches do taste like Oreos. However, in Canada there are Oreo ice cream sandwiches. The cookies are larger and softer with ice cream in the middle.

Love you both!!! Glad I found your channel finally 😊
That double take when you tasted the tofu was perfect.
I always watch your videos while i'm eating so i don't feel so alone! 😂♥
Yummy love you guys have good weekend ♡♡♡
Everything you eat they look so delicious 😍😍
Love you guys!!!!

I'm so early! Good morning from the US guys! 💜💗 so groooovy lol
I wish our convenience stores of the US were nearly as good as your 7-Eleven, Lawson, and Family Mart... or that our dollar stores were as good as Daiso, Can Do, Seria and such. :P
Have you ever been to a Wa-Wa? I wish those were in the part of the US I live in.
Watching youtwo eat &share food it looks great. Very nice video clip and amazing too. You were great showing the world the most interesting types of foods. Thanks for the update.
shouldnt have watched this before bed ... now i need to go get some noodles and wish i could be eating like you lot ... lol

I like eating stuff while watching you guys eat stuff. I dunno why.
The taco rice is the best!!
Watching you eat that Okinawa Soba, it reminded me that I gotta go out and get some. Now if only I could find Nakami soup and I’d be in heaven.
Taco rice is awesome! Okinawa was so fun. I would love to go back some day.
12:34 I love that description, Satoshi ;)
Convinient stores food are my favorites they could be yummy also.
All of the food looks soooo good!! Hope you're enjoying California.
those sea grapes look interesting!!! Groovy taste lol. that sound like surfer talk and Okinawa is famous for that lol, and surf music
The sea grapes look yummy.
Wooo Okinawa stuff looks good~
i completely forgot about the Foremost brand.... loved those ice cream sandwiches
Everything looks really yummy! *.*
If you like the idea of cold oreos, the American ice cream company Klondike makes Oreo Ice Cream Sandwiches and they are the absolute tops.
According to the published plans, 7-Eleven will open more than 200 stores in the Okinawan prefecture by February 2019 at the latest.
So fun. Very good I loved it.
Those thin noodles look like what my local Chinese place uses for a curried noodle dish. It's really addictive

I miss Japanase convenience stores. Any chance you guys can visit an onigiri factory and make a video?
Taco rice sounds delicious
Great convenient store food!
thats groovy tasting...lol. love it.
used to go to Family Mart a lot more than Lawson, if I remember right. i couldn't decide what to buy. lol. it's more fun at Okinawa convenience stores.
Greetings from Monterey CA!! Thanks for sharing! I bet those sea grapes would be delicious with the tofu! Mmmmmm!
We have those ice cream sandwiches everywhere in the US...
You guys made me so jealous, I want some of that Okinawan soba.
Lawson’s is AWESOME! Family Mart is ok, but Lawson rocks!
There are no 7-11's on Okinawa. At least not yet. I think they are planning to open some there in 2018.
I've been seeing taco rice at 7-11s in Tokyo recently! they sell out quick though. Also saw them in Kyoto's 7-11s :)
If you come to Sweden you can find that ice cream sandwich eveywhere. It's called sandwich and is from a brand called Gb Glace :)
All looks tasty. I still can't believe the prices at the convenience store for such good food is so cheap.
Bad idea to watch this before breakfast. Good idea because I'm going to a japanese market later!
Taco rice! I'm definitely going to have to make this at home.
I was so happy waking up to this video and ericsurfs video in my feed!!
Yum!! I want t try Okinawan treats and snacks!!! I love umibudo!! Growing up in the Philippines, we would eat this marinated in salted vinegar xD
That taco rice would be even better with some sour cream and crushed tortilla chips :)
Shimadoufu is my favorite kind of tofu to snack on, it's a shame that I can't find anything like that anymore in america
Adorable.
I got cold spicy Tsukemen at a 7/11 in Hiroshima recently. Probably one of the best I’ve had so far.
Yes @ 12:04 I have tried that very healthy and like popping small caviar!!!!!
My husband would love the coffee with alcohol...lol
I’m with you on ice cream sandwiches, they are the best.
Ah! If you have time, do a review of A&W in Okinawa!
Hi guy's how you doing good to see you guy's be safe God BLESS to all
87/10
would go on a junkfood forage with you guys every day and twice on a Friday! :D
It's interesting how you guys wouldn't have ice cream sandwiches in placed like kakigori stands or supermarkets when there's stuff like the monaka bars, popsicles or chocolate covered ice cream bites....

You should use コーレーグース for ソーメンチャンプルー, it's awesome.
The sea grapes look similar to tobiko. Do they taste similar to tobiko?
Could you make a clip for Hawaiian food in Japan? What restaurant would you recommend?
We’ve been to a few here. We like L & L That used to be in Shibuya..... pacific Drive Inn is pretty good too. But these would be Hawaii local food. Not Hawaiian Food. For that I hear a place called Ogo is good.
guys, 7-11 update as of 2-20-20, we are getting more 7-11 stores on okinawa. this started about late 2019, so when you guys made this video in april, 2017, there were no 7-11 stores here. I live in the uruma city area, and we have 3-4 stores. please come back to okinawa guys!!!!!!
Taco Rice = Burrito Bowl sans beans 😂
I wish American convenience stores had such variety!!! I love seeing what Japanese ones have.
