Thank you. And it's true. It's hard to get tired of convenience store food especially with the different convenience stores competing against each other.
Satoshi...you rock my world! you both make Japanese food so healthy and delicious. As a local girl, I love Japanese Food.. watching you both makes the simple foods..soo.. healthy. Thank you for sharing your hungry appetites and delicious foods. I will be sure to look for your Lawson products in our local supermarkets. Mahalo and A'ri'goto !!! Gozai' mas'..
We are going to Tokyo in 4 days. Watching you guys eat is really making me so excited. I am looking forward of trying all these convenience store food. I WANT TO GO NOW!!! Thank you guys.
Awe Santoshi's face when you ate the yolk, priceless lol!! I'm so jealous that you guys can get all this amazing food from Lawson in Japan! Everything looks so fresh and delicious! Love these videos, makes me love Japan even more, didn't even know that was possible lol! ❤️
Sherman Brown If Lawson and Family Mart went to USA, they possibly will only make USA food, according to what they sale at 7/11 stores different countries all the world.
Sherman Brown I live in Hawaii, and we actually have one Lawson's here. We don't have Family Mart here though. I think at one point or another we did, but it's been replaced with 7-11s.
yet another enjoyable, entertaining review! you guys are always making us smile! please do more convenience store dinners - then go back for breakfast, lunch etc...so much fun to watch!!!
In Thailand we have all these stores as well but its so nice to see the difference between the two countries:) I think 711 in Thailand has the biggest food selection out of the three here and its surprisingly gooddd. I'd love to see more of this series, I like your idea of videos showing the different categories of food they offer, like breakfast/dessert etc. But anyhow, love your videos as always!
+TabiEats when I told my wife about it she didn't believe that it was so healthy. she did the fire noodle challenge. I would love it if you'd check her out, please.
We are leaving after 7 years for me and my wife forever. We are definitely going to miss the convenient stores, family mart, lawson, 7 11, daily, mini mart etc. im sorry ya'll the japanese know good food. Ohhh im gonna miss takenoko in the spring.... My wife and i love watching you guys. She learned ways of cooking from you guys. Ok thats it we're going to family mart they got a special on the cheesecake for this season.
haha you guys are so cute together ^_^ this is my favourite series, it is so fascinating to see the kind of great and (relatively) healthy cheap food you get at japanese convenience stores. please keep making more of these!
I just wanted to say that I'm eating a peanut butter and banana sandwich while watching this video!!! Since there are so many different kinds of prepared meals to choose from (for example, in this video you guys tried two entrees, so there probably is a lot more) I think we wouldn't mind if you guys did multiple dinners from the same convenience store. I'd also love to watch you guys eat dinners from supermarkets (their prepared food sections) It's always a treat to watch a convenience store haul.
Oh please do one all on onigiri! I love the stuff, and even make one as a desert using Rice Krispies and fruit roll ups. Cannot get enough of the stuff! Love you guys!-----Marie
You're making me hungry you guys!!!! Well, I so, so love watching you guys, your videos are feel good videos! You enjoy little things so much and sometimes I forget to appreciate simple things. Love, love, love you guys!!!! ❤❤❤
I love this series, so yes please more hauls from these convenience stores. Maybe try the same things at different stores to compare which one does it the best? And I'd love to see you compare the onigiris and hot food offerings!
I wish we had that kind of quality in our convenience stores here in the US! A breakfast food haul might be a nice change. Either way, I love this series! 😃👍
would genuinely enjoy every kind of konbini food video, no matter what type, these are cool bc even people who cant afford expensive food can go out to get the ones in this video afterwards bc its so cheap!! i just arrived in japan too and will try soon!! maybe some specials, like a vegetarian version, or a 'first time Japanese food' one for people who never tried it or something like that would be good? lots of possibilities with konbini videos!!! keep it up!
After subscribing and enjoying all your videos I really want to travel to Japan. You have made it so welcoming. I would love to ride the trains, meet some people, see the scenery and indulge on all the local ekiben.
Greetings from Monterey, CA! ! Thank you for sharing. It's nice to know that the food at convenience stores in Japan are so wonderful. Keep up the great videos and be healthy!! :)
amaizing video again! thank you for doing this! I Would like breakfast edition next!! very helpful because I will go to japan soon. thank you again. greetings from argentina.
Saw your comment on Simon and Martina's video so I decided to come take a look and I'm glad I did. You guys are adorable and I LOVE the content of your videos. You definitely gained a subscriber! :D
That Hokkaido bento looked so good! Salmon and ikura are my favorites. Did Satoshi forgive you for being too greedy with the egg? I'd love to see more combini hauls.
in indonesia we have salty eggs. made from duck eggs. and yes, it's in the shell as well. i'm not sure how the details of the process, but basically you just cover the egg with a mixture of salt and ash and keep it for days (one of the article i read says 15-20 days). then clean it up and boil it.
Everything looks really good! I wish in the states we had convenience stores like that. Would you one day do a video of a grocery store? I would love to see what it's like in Japan
Hahaha. That was hilarious when you grabbed the flavored boiled egg from Satoshi, to his dismay, and took a bite of it. Sharing is caring. I do that and must try other people's food, too. :) I tried a few of the self-heating ekiben while in Japan. Could you do a review of one of those for us? It was fun to use and the food was delicious.
+TabiEats Can you try the breakfast and lunch items from the Japanese convenience stores? Plus the desserts. Also the different non-alcoholic drinks they have. Thanks!
+TabiEats yay!! Please put Justin in some too!! And I love your Disney videos as well! You both are beautiful partners and I just love all your vlogs! Was just in hospital for surgery and your vlogs helped put a smile on my fave and a laugh in my heart each day! One more surgery to go in a few weeks, so I'll be watching! Thanks for letting me see all of Japan with you guys!
Love this conbeni food series. I was in Japan aged 21-24 and I must have spent 1000s of dollars in these places just on food - because they are so good. I'd love to see the same for Mini Stop and Circle-K/Sunkus. I had 711s near where I lived so I'd always gravitate to 711 Katsu curry.
+Patricia Murray we are really surprised at how delicious everything is at convenience stores. We would have never known unless we started doing these videos!
watching this video in the middle of the night is really torturing (I'm from indonesia btw in case ur wondering ). I'd like to see other convenience store in japan has offer plus it will be nice if you can take us to see the actual store and watching you guys picking food (I asking too much haha). I love ur video so much. keep up the good work!
+Lee eun kyung Hello Indonesia!!! We'll try our best to film inside the stores too. It's usually forbidden which is why we only have bits and pieces of it in the beginning. ;:)
I love sake. I really do. Last time I was in Düsseldorf (Germany) I bought a fine bottle bottle of sake. It had the picture 赤富士 (painted by Hokusai Katsushika) on the packing. It was really delicious. And Ume wine is one of my favourite alcoholic drinks too.
I love how you drink it in a cocktail glass! CHEERS to the weekend guys! The food looked amazing again (Went looking for food after this vid hahaha)! I love how you both are always so excited and funny! Makes me excited too! Do you guys finish the food after filming it?
Love your vlogs and looking so forward to when my wife and I visit Tokyo! We're in the planning stages right now and I noticed that in front of the hotel we're considering staying at there's a Lawson's. I can tell already that we'll be going to Lawson's frequently if we stay at that location. That food looks delicious! I'll be checking your other videos. You've got a new fan! Take care!
Thank you so much! I'm curious if you've done or plan to do any videos in the golden gai area? You guys have shown me that I'll never go hungry with Lawson's and 7-11 nearby but I've also heard incredible things about the Golden Gai neighborhood.. Thanks again!
Dream331 We will definitely consider doing that. We anticipate huge problems with video taking though as they are usually frowned upon at bars, especially the small ones in Golden Gai.
Dream331 I think it's mostly bars. We did go to a ramen shop there before but it was very small and cramped. It wasn't the greatest ramen either so we didn't film.
Konjac (English pronunciation: /ˈkoʊnjæk/ kohn-yak; Amorphophallus konjac;syn. A. rivieri; Japanese: 蒟蒻/菎蒻; こんにゃく; konnyaku; Korean: 곤약; gonyak;Chinese: 蒟蒻; pinyin: jǔruò), also known as konjak, konjaku, konnyaku potato, devil's tongue, voodoo lily, snake palm, or elephant yam (though this name is also used for A. paeoniifolius), is a plant of the genus Amorphophallus. It is native to warm subtropical to tropical eastern Asia, from Japan and China south to Indonesia (USDA hardiness Zone 6-11). It is a perennial plant, growing from a large corm up to 25 cm in diameter. The single leaf is up to 1.3 m across, bipinnate, and divided into numerous leaflets. The flowers are produced on aspathe enclosed by a dark purple spadix up to 55 cm long. Amorphophallus konjac in bloom The food made from the corm of this plant is widely known in English by its Japanese name, konnyaku (yam cake), being cooked and consumed primarily in Japan. The two basic types of cake are white and black. Pushing the cake through a grid of sharp blades at the end of a wooden box gives noodles, calledShirataki, which are also sold in white and black colors. The corm of the konjac is often colloquially referred to as a yam, although it bears no marked relation to tubers of the family Dioscoreaceae.
I buy the noodles here at an Asian market as "shirataki noodles". I first make dashi (konbu and katsubushi flakes), then add miso, ginger, cubes of tofu, bean sprouts and chopped spring onions. With the noodles it makes a really tasty and healthy (and low calorie!) meal. Now they are also selling the noodles as "skinny noodles" but they cost more (I think because of the fancy packaging).
Going to try the bento boxes and the chicken stick. Please do a video about breakfast food items and japanese ice cream at convenience stores in Japan.
+cathy jackson yes it's oak! We made gyoza including the wrappers a long time ago. Gyoza ua-cam.com/video/0HFbAcWw2yc/v-deo.html Gyoza Wrappers ua-cam.com/video/RGsKNuP9HgE/v-deo.html These are old videos so we're kind of embarassed to show it. Yikes! We have a couple of mochi recipes but not just mochi. I think we might do that one day.
I love these videos :) Only 10 weeks until I move to live in Japan, these videos may come in very useful when I arrive haha The ume wine sounds nice, I'd like to try that!
+TabiEats yes! I'm going to be teaching english for the JET programme, I'm not sure where my placement is yet but I should find out in the next week or two. I can't wait! It's so exciting.

Amorphophallus konjac in bloom
The food made from the corm of this plant is widely known in English by its Japanese name, konnyaku (yam cake), being cooked and consumed primarily in Japan.
Love your konbini dinner videos! Looking forward to trying it out myself when my family and i visit Japan!🙂
