      There's evidenc that suggests the tack where the sail is in contact with the mast might actually be the MORE efficient one, even though it "looks bad".

    Nice, can we have more videos of this. He’s very trusting of the boats behaviour. What is this boats sleeping capabilities (2persons).

    Greetings from Costa Rica, I would like to know the approximate weight of the hull, i love this boat

      Hi Huascar, First Mate is just about my favourite design or a number of reasons. Her hull is an example of what is generally called a ‘Dory Skiff’, and as such she is an easily-built boat which both sails and rows nicely. Well-proportioned Dory Skiffs are very seaworthy for their size. Her weight will vary substantially depending on the builder and the density of ply used, but I expect a hull weight of around 80kg (176lbs).
