I like 300blk because it's a bigger caliber, more stopping power and handles brush & barriers better. I'll gladly give up some longer range capabilities for a general purpose build. I wish the ammo was the same price as 5.56.

May be a good choice for you as well.
If it's a sbr it's hands down gotta be 300blk. Mine is a 7.5 inch with yhm r9 and q pdw brace. It's my go to for most, but usually home defense/white tail/backpack rifle/truck gun lol. I use it for most purposes
@@Hillcountryoperations You can brace it instead. In some ways that's preferable so you don't have to deal with local law about Conceal Carry of an SBR or worry about crossing state lines. This is assuming it's a backpack gun or vehicle weapon. For a home defense PDW you can eliminate the folder and put that $250 toward training, mags, etc.
I just build a 7" 300 bkack out. Got a palmetto state upper, spikes bcg, aero lower, triger tech trigger duty, warhammer charging handle, sbpdw brace, irregular firearm grip. I just need it suppressed. I've spent around 1100.
The "SABRE" FORGED 8.5".300 BLACKOUT upper is an extremely high value upper that barely no one knows exist. Adjustable gas block, radian charging handle, and an SD style rail.
I was also determined to purchase a 300blk Jakl with the intention to surpress. However, after I discovered the 300blk Sabre uppers, I realized that building an 8.5in AR15 would save me money, and give me a lighter platform, better brace, and trigger.

Great video guys, Nice build. I have built a couple 300 blackout's.I will say instead building my Aero Precision with BA Hanson 10 inch barrel (awesome build) but I kinda wish I would have gone with the Q Sugar Weasel for that 1:5 twist. For the money I spent, I could have easily gotten the Sugar Weasel. At the time I was thinking Q was way over priced. But now I think their products are worth every penny, especially the Sugar Weasel. Right now the sugar weasels are going for 1600-1800. That's an awesome buy because you get 1:5 twist match grade stainless barrel and it's the poor mans honey badger. The reason why I say the Q products are worth every penny is because I bought the Mini Fix (300 blackout 8 inch barrel) with a Q suppressor. That little bolt action is my favorite 300 blackout. The Q suppressors are fantastic. The attention to detail, engineering and quality is the the best I have seen. Their customer service is simply amazing. I got tired of manufactures over gassing their barrels and the quality going out the door. So I stopped going on the budget end of AR builds and went down the rabbit hole of proper gas porting and specs. When you do that they shoot so much smoother.
I built something similar but I keep getting cases stuck in chamber. I double checked head space and all good. Going to try different ammo and add an adjustable gas block on l.
Have you ever thought about doing a 300 blk PDW piston build? Superlative arms does a fantastic pistol kit that doesnt add much weight. I have is on a 556 SBR build. its adjustable with 2 different forms of bleed off.
Ar pistol for me now knowing what I know and my own experiences, definitely will go with 300 blk over 556 all day. If I ever decide to get another ar pistol, I’m going that route again
Having a lot of problems with my Aero 5.5 inch. Bolt won’t lock back manually, it will lock back about 3/4 on last round, but only on the magazine, and drops when I release the mag. I have a law folding adapter and standard aero carbine buffer system. It cycles supers but will not cycle subs even with the gas adjustment opened all the way.
@@Ironsight_Army I found the problem, I bought an Aero carbine buffer set, so tube, weight and spring - turns out it came with a rifle length spring instead of carbine length so that was causing the problems…

But then again is ballistic capability that important when you put 20 rounds into a robber without body armor? Also during shtf when I'm going to be in multiple fights I'd rather just have a ton of 9 stocked. A small PCC pistol like a B&T TP9, MP5K, conversion handgun, stocked handgun, is still much smaller than any 300 blackout PDW you could fit in an EDC bag.
