PSA PSA (That's a Palmetto State Armory Public Service Announcement): I've seen lots of videos on this gun, especially recently, and no one ever explains this, so I will. BLEM means blemished, ie that there is some cosmetic blemish/damage/imperfection that didn't pass quality control. This DOES NOT mean there is anything functionally wrong with the gun, just that its got a scratch or something. Just FYI. I've never had any issues with my PSA rifles, so this should be no exception. Good luck, and train hard.
I like the route y’all are taking because not everyone has that top tier budget. It’s what gets you hooked in the first place and you go from there. Good stuff.
This is what everyone was hoping the T rex arms 1000 dollar rifle load out was gonna be and not just "500 dollar rifle, 500 dollars worth of ammo and magazines"
After building an ar myself, as in every single part I pieced and assembled costing around 4500 (not to mention the 1k silencer). A setup like the video is more than enough for most people, and I recommend spending the extra money on ammo instead
I started getting back into guns a while back and was surprised by how many gun snobs there are in the community. I get the idea that people want nice stuff but for some people, it's hard to justify spending 3,000 dollars on a gun. If you have the money, go for it. I live in Colorado and heard we have an "assault weapons " ban getting ready to get passed by the end of the year. So I decided buy a bunch of PSA lowers (each complete lower with a blemish is around 125$ each). The lowers are what are considered the gun. So I bought those all at once so that if our commie state gets the law passed, I can buy whatever uppers I want without too much hassle. I grew up in Colorado. It wasn't like this when I was a kid. It wasn't until the Californian's moved in and decided that they wanted more of the same from the state they fled.
@@coolbreeze2.0-mortemadfasc13 I was surprised about finding out how liberal Virginia is. I assumed since it's a southern state, that it was conservative but apparently it's not. Too many people from D.C. and up North must be coming in. Thankfully that gun bill didn't pass but it's only a matter of time before it does.
I got an Anderson Manufacturing AM15 Utility with extra 30 round and 20 round mag. $684 out the door. Also got a Monstrum Cyborg 4x BDC reticle for about $120. Toughsoul light laser combo $70. Dagger Defence off set iron sights $40. Off brand handstop $20. And one of the $12 amazon slings you don't like lol. Works for me though. Just under $1000.
Great video showing what you can do on a limited budget. I ended up acquiring a PSA blem upper several years ago. A little different though, mine had an Odin Works rail, nitride pencil barrel with BCG and charging handle. It only cost me $300, couldn’t pass that deal up. I tried to do something similar with my build to keep it under a grand but ended up spending a little more than you in certain areas because I get discounts on certain stuff through a friend. I could afford it and the extra cost was worth it in the long run for me personally.
The biggest tip I can offer a newbie if you go with PSA is to buy a complete & a complete lower separately, you can save anywhere from $150-250, there's some silly tax on complete rifles. I've built a PSA, only missing a backup sight for under $350(shipping included), this was pre pandemic, bit their prices are dropping down again. Just need to be patient & wait for the best deals.
Had one since 2018. Works and hasnt failed me. There are arguably better stuff out there but what would I do with the Strike Eagle? Sells for less than I bought it. I dont want to have a $500 LPVO doing nothing gathering dust.
As far as optics I would go with the Holosun 503cu. You can get it at a similar cost and while its a red dot it has solar failsafe backup if your battery dies.
@@MrCashewkitty they may have, iv used both my 503cu and my 510c without a battery in them. It was a sunny day so that probably helped. i don't think it was at maxed brightness though

The pressure pads on my protac and my buddy’s protac broke in a couple hundred rounds. The light would flicker and sometimes not even turn on. Great light but you either need to just run the push button tail cap or buy the Arisaka adapter so you can use a surefire pressure pad. Surefire pressure pad ain’t cheap but it’s worth it. At the end of the day I would rather run no pressure pad at all over running streamlight’s pressure pad. It will crap out on you
Psa sabre upper for about 600$ an aero lower Blem for 80$, Mil spec per fcu for 20-40$ them sig Romeo 7s or 5 for under 130. Then the rest on mags and ammo
I have a 1x PA prism. One thing I've learned is adding iron sights to co witness with a prism is absolutely worthless. This is because unlike a red dot that has 0 magnification, a 1x prism isn't a true 1x. Depending on the optic and glass, there seems to be a slight over/under magnification of .1-.3x (I'm guessing as I have no way to measure it) and this causes the red dot in front of the prism to appear much closer than it really is which also distorts it.
So I would argue the best rifle is a complete Aero lower 180-240 (depending on what you want) and a complete Geissle Super duty upper on sale for 850-900. And add a 1-8 strike eagle and mount for 299 from PSA.... That's a 1500 rifle. Out of the box a Geissle Super Duty for 1450 is the best rifle though. (On sale) the trigger is worth the extra 200
foregrips are necessary when doing actual rapid firing as you dont burn your hand----dont care what upper you have---it will heat up and you need both a grip to actually grip on to it away from the forend and gloves

Is this rifle considered an SBR in ohio? Would I need to fill out proper tax stamps with the ATF in order to legally own this? considering the barrel is 14.5"?
Why not the psa sabre 308, best all-around use firearm, on a budget. If you're on a budget you should buy a do it all rifle (hunting, precision, long range, short range, defense).
I watched a psa podcast and they was talking about how it doesn't cost that much to manufacture rifles and they don't up charge 200% so the public has access to quality guns. I know the bigger names has rifles that are better but not at the price they are charging
I'd say palmetto State armory has there own brand of ammo called Aac and in bulk they even got where you can get 300 rounds of 110 grain VMAX ammo for under 200 and they have lots of calibers
I've been happy with thier 300blk Vmax and love thier 77g SMK OTMs....so far anyway. Theres reports of some bad batches out there. I'm on my second case of 1000 77gr and I've shot about 350 of the Vmax
For that barrel being 16 inch it looks to be way over gassed or an extremely light buffer spring combo. Or maybe some BCG issues. Something is seriously wrong. The ejection pattern is way forward acting like it's a suppressed 10.5! I've never had a 16" build do that.
What is an “entry-level light?” A light is a light whether it’s Streamlight or Surefire. It’s not like one light is easier/harder to use than the other. There is no such thing as entry-level. That’s dumb. It’s either cheap(PSA), decently priced(BCM), or extremely overpriced(Radian AR)
AR 15 snobbism drove me to AKs lol Most people are not going to out shoot the barrel on a rifle like this. So don't get caught up in the name, as long as the company will resolve any issues with the firearm you're good
Let's be real, if the SHTF does happen, most of us will be me more worried about the 10/22 guys out there that are proficient against small game vs the gucci rifle guys with less than 2k rounds through it
Very hit or miss. If you get a good one with no issues, you'll be OK, if not, be prepared to send it back...maybe more than once. PSA has come a long way and by far the best budget choice. You can google Anderson, Radical, BCA, etc, and you'll find plenty of horror stories. Also people who have had zero issues. I'd question how much they shoot in the zero issues group though
Got my first AR-15 this week. $1,200 at local gun shop for a M&P Sport 2 with a holosun 510c and magpul sling. Could’ve gone way cheaper on the red dot but wanted an EOTech clone 💀💀
forgot to mention a few extra Pmags, Leupold flashlight mount, and like 100rds of 223 to break in the gun. Pretty good way to spend my tax return if you ask me lol
How many of the people who "setup" a sub-$1000 rifle actually train, though? Are you actually verifying your zero, are you actually dry practicing regularly, and are your accessories sufficiently durable to hold up to even a couple of days of stuff going sideways? On top of that, do you have other supplies, such as medical, and or other know how? I know I have my own shortcomings in terms of prep, but too many comments I have seen say, in essence "just as good," with no round counts. Verify that your gear will work, folks.
The same can be said about folks who come to the comment section and talk crap while only shooting 500 rounds a year though their KAC. I have to build or buy AR's in 3's because my Daughter and Girlfriend love shooting and it's our only hobby so we shoot a couple times a week all year long. I have Knights, Noveske, LMT, Colt, BCM. I also have S&W, PSA, and 3 Diamondbacks with close to 18,000 rounds on just those three. I am absolutely OCD about round count and maintaining them. The only thing that has happened to the more affordable AR's is normal shit. Springs and Bolts and Barrels, funny thing is, that is the EXACT same thing that tends to go out on my high end AR's. MK18's break bolts between 5,000 and 7,000 like friggin clockwork, but that is expected on a SBR. Shit breaks About the only thing I can say makes much difference is Chrome lined Barrels. They will go 7-8,000 more rounds than Melonited Barrels but I personally prefer Melonited Barrels because of the Accuracy I can get out of them. I don't think it will be to many more years before Chrome Lined Barrels are only for Machine Guns. I don't expect or even care if anyone believes me or not, but there are a bunch of folks shooting their shit and not on the Internet complaining about things. I could have jumped all over the Internet when my Daughter Broke her Diamondback Bolt at 6,800 rounds but I didn't. I threw in a new one and she continued to shoot and enjoy her SBR. Shit breaks if you use it, and just because something is more "affordable" doesn't mean it's crap. Yeah there is some straight trash shit out here but it's easy to weed through the bullshit if you pay attention. Oh, SpringCo makes the only Recoil, Ejector and Extractor Springs I will ever use.
Aero uppers without the bcg are relatively expensive still. So if you want a cheaper option just get a complete psa upper for a few hundred dollars less
Aero lowers are better, PSA uppers are better for the money (generally). But Aero lowers and Geissle Super Duty or URGI complete uppers are $900 or less on sales. Those are the best rifles sub $1100-1200
Imagen for a moment that things go sour and Russia and China get to invade the US (with all the illegal immigrants crossing the border today everything is possible). What affordable AR 15 do you recommend for such scenario?
Why should anyone care about the opinions of anyone when it comes to buying or building a rifle? Why is the minimum price set at $1000??? Build or buy what you want or can afford. So many videos guilting people into buying certain brands. Opinion videos are just that, opinions. You don’t need to impress anyone, especially UA-cam’rs. Do want you want. Spend as much as you want. You are only impressing yourself.
Videos like this one are meant to help beginners to sort through the sea of options currently available, not for those who have years of experience and ownership under their belt. I heard absolutely nothing in this video that was "guilting" people into anything at all.
Lots of copium from people with poverty tier rifles, news flash, SAVE MONEY "bUt iM oN a BuDgEt" is a made up term from people who don't know how to save money, do yourself a favor, completely ignore this video, LEARN HOW TO SAVE SOME FUCKING MONEY, and buy yourself something of quality, if you just learned how to wait a few more paychecks you'd be able to get something duty grade like a geissele or DD or if you're an AK guy like me a Beryl or Arsenal 100 series rifle. The just as gooders will always give you terrible advice.
With the quality of today's red dots, even the more affordable ones, there's really no reason to have backup irons. Save the money for extra mags. And also folks don't seem to give the a2 flash hider enough credit. The flash suppression of a standard a2 is second only to a full on suppressor. You're not gonna beat it

swampfox liberator II. great optic, long battery, $170ish, 10 brightness settings ( 2 for NV)
Love this post, would love the best loadout for 10 round capacity weapons too or non-semi autos
Why not the psa sabre 308, best all-around use firearm, on a budget. If you're on a budget you should buy a do it all rifle (hunting, precision, long range, short range, defense).
PSA ! All the way, Dirty Bird also makes super solid products, the V2 And V3 hand guards are " bomb proof times 6
I watched a psa podcast and they was talking about how it doesn't cost that much to manufacture rifles and they don't up charge 200% so the public has access to quality guns. I know the bigger names has rifles that are better but not at the price they are charging
PSA is a gem 💎, supplying us average citizens with quality guns and not gatekeeping us from being able to enjoy our 2A rights
FOR THAT SLIG DO YOU NEED TO GET CLIP AND QDS OLR DOES IT COME ON THE SLING???
Where is the best site too buy bulk ammo???
I'd say palmetto State armory has there own brand of ammo called Aac and in bulk they even got where you can get 300 rounds of 110 grain VMAX ammo for under 200 and they have lots of calibers
Kirrammo. Free shipping and no taxes outside of texas.
Sgammo hands down the best 200 plus = free shipping and good prices
I've been happy with thier 300blk Vmax and love thier 77g SMK OTMs....so far anyway. Theres reports of some bad batches out there. I'm on my second case of 1000 77gr and I've shot about 350 of the Vmax
Great content
If you include an optic, light and sling, $1,500 is a much more interesting price point because you don't have to compromise too much on anything.
What is the chest rig
Do you need a ffl license
Yall should checkout northtac optics, i would consider them "budget" friendly but damn good optics
For that barrel being 16 inch it looks to be way over gassed or an extremely light buffer spring combo. Or maybe some BCG issues. Something is seriously wrong. The ejection pattern is way forward acting like it's a suppressed 10.5! I've never had a 16" build do that.
Could have gotten a holosun red dot for $150 and had $ left over to get a decent stock, pistol grip for the price of the PA optic. 🤷♂️
Ok. It’s a cheap light.
Do a review on some tacticon gear
AR 15 snobbism drove me to AKs lol Most people are not going to out shoot the barrel on a rifle like this. So don't get caught up in the name, as long as the company will resolve any issues with the firearm you're good
Let's be real, if the SHTF does happen, most of us will be me more worried about the 10/22 guys out there that are proficient against small game vs the gucci rifle guys with less than 2k rounds through it
Thoughts on the radical rifles?
Very hit or miss. If you get a good one with no issues, you'll be OK, if not, be prepared to send it back...maybe more than once. PSA has come a long way and by far the best budget choice. You can google Anderson, Radical, BCA, etc, and you'll find plenty of horror stories. Also people who have had zero issues. I'd question how much they shoot in the zero issues group though
Diamondback, hands down
5:44 it’s ouch Iv the line so I think it counts as a zone hit trump shooter took those words to heart
That’s crazy! I got my m&p 15 sport II with magpul furniture used for 575
@@PnP-td1mt yeah they just had a sale that ended in December m&p sport 2 with a vortex strike fire for $850
Why isn't the channel called Basement Operator?
Primary arms had a steal on their EXO3 SOLGW uppers right at Christmas and put it on a PSA Blem lower
Plain stocks are just fine. 99.9% of the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, & NG use them.
Tacticon!!
Yup, medical is a very important piece of kit that I assume many gun owners disregard. It’s not all shoot shoot when shtf..
@@tyajjjjjjjjy Truth. Also... Is it just me, or are the review photos for the blem PSA's on their site largely fitted out with Amazon airsoft crap?
Shit breaks
About the only thing I can say makes much difference is Chrome lined Barrels.
I see a lot of people recommending Aero lowers and PSA uppers, but why not Aero UPPERS?? Does Aeroprecision have a bad history with their uppers?
Aero uppers without the bcg are relatively expensive still. So if you want a cheaper option just get a complete psa upper for a few hundred dollars less
Mainly because most aero uppers are basically mid tier, not necessarily "budget"
Aero lowers are better, PSA uppers are better for the money (generally). But Aero lowers and Geissle Super Duty or URGI complete uppers are $900 or less on sales. Those are the best rifles sub $1100-1200
Get Ballastic Advantage uppers, same thing as Aero and cost less
Nice
Buying the gun remains. You should probably not go cheap. Like, what do you not understand about that? Cheap gun equals death.
Pete and repeat are back at it again
Comment for the algorithm! lol
Imagen for a moment that things go sour and Russia and China get to invade the US (with all the illegal immigrants crossing the border today everything is possible). What affordable AR 15 do you recommend for such scenario?
Best advice buy a lower and biold it woth gun show stuff. Cost less and very cheap. #under600club
Eye Pro dudes, gotta wear it!
please do a vidieo on a AR/deer hunting combo rig under 1
$1000-1500
💝💝💝
👍
Should’ve bought a Colt
The point is budget, Einstein. Find a 6920 with an optic, sling, light, and BUIS for under $1k. Not gonna happen.
I like garbage.
I’m a bit of a DD and BCM slut, but I guess they can just throw their piggy bank at a bad guy while they save up money to buy a rifle, right?
With the quality of today's red dots, even the more affordable ones, there's really no reason to have backup irons. Save the money for extra mags. And also folks don't seem to give the a2 flash hider enough credit. The flash suppression of a standard a2 is second only to a full on suppressor. You're not gonna beat it
Dude on the left is so annoying
