I've had my 2018 2.0t for six months now and am very pleased so far. I drive over a mountain on my daily commute and the 9 speed transmission and 252hp motor has been worth the investment. I usually coast down the hills and use my brakes so I am not putting extra wear on the transmission, and to get better fuel economy. The AWD will come in handy in the winter, although I have a 2008 Volvo XC90 as a second winter car as well.

Just bought an Equinox in this exact color, mine is the LS model. Coming from a Hyundai Sonata we love it, have a little under 2000 miles on it so far and no issues.

note: There is a way around the auto stop system. Bring the gear selector down to " L " (while the vehicle is stopped but running)
Then press the button on the top of the gear selector till it reads the highest gear on the dash (on my equinox it is 6). Leave it in LOW and drive off. It will not remember this setting. You will have to do the procedure again if you move the selector to another gear.....like PARK.....or....REVERSE etc.

Auto stop IS deactivatable buy shifting into L
Yeah but your fuel economy will plummet if you drive around in Low.
Shift into L and manually shift into top gear and it will shift normally.
Auto start stop worst invention ever, how long before engine fails from to many lubrication delays at startup cycles.Fuel saved not worth the cost of a premature trashed engine on top of 0w-20 motor oil is like water.I am old school and don,t believe in the new more expensive junk out these days.
Yeah agreed not saving much fuel to be worth it.
Im more worried about changing starters frequently than lack of lubing... instead of just shifting into L to deactivate it, there should have been an option in the settings. Damn those tree huggers!🤣
