Jobless after graduating from University. Girlfriend dumped me. Staying alone in different country. Full of Debt.. Nothing was working. Lost hope. All of these happened during covid. Wanted to hurt myself. But then did 5.4.3.2.1 for few days.

Can feel that mate. I used to live and work in a developed country and now I have returned and am living in a developing and corrupted country due to looking after an elderly parent. Life is so much different. No opportunity will be given to a hard-working, competent, and honest individual

Also remember that you can't always be happy, soemtimes you will be sad, feeling low in energy and that's okay! And thinking that it is wrong to be there and that we should always be happy, can be the source of the pain we go through to begin with. Cause feeling a little bit down is part of life, and makes the good times that more profound in the end cause we went though something. This is not an excuse to not get things done, but to feel a sense of peace no matter what you're going through right now. Keep going for it!

Yes feeling sad is part of the human experience and it can be an uncomfortable emotion but it is a meaningful emotion that can help us grow and learn. We need to acknowledge our feelings and emotions rather than labelling them as bad. This is what psychologists talk about when they recommend people to validate their emotions. :)

Mel Robbins, this is not complaining....just stating real facts,. As interesting as your advice is, taking action when your plate is quite full can be quite costly. In 2017, I nearly lost my life from trying to balance new job training that was very extensive, spending time with my kids, songwriting (kept me smiling), and working to keep my car on the road (I needed the car to get to my place that was out in the country which was cheaper than living in the city and better for my sanity). At that time, my heath was good, yet I strangely had two strokes, and lost 25 lbs which took a long time to regain My two health specialists both pointed out that a little of everything, which was a lot, most likely caused my strokes, even with my positive outlook. I was a crushed man. It was tough, and getting my mobility back was very difficult. I still have some physical issues now and then. Taking action for what you want, like good job security, and everything else on top of it can cost you your health. So, when I was more or less capable to return to a semi-normal life, I backed off of the job training (unfortunately), lost my car because I could no longer afford it, and had to move somewhere that's not ideal. This is not to provoke a pity party. I still have dreams, but if it takes more work than my already 10 hour schedule per day at work, I'll just have to tuck my dreams in my pocket until God offers me a break. I took action on changes to better myself three times in 10 years. I was a positive minded, hopeful and determined guy all three times. The last one cost me nearly everything I had. Even with your best thoughts, best efforts, and best education, dreams are not guaranteed. Maybe one day, a dream will materialize. Maybe. I am very positive and yet i need to be a realist....at least that keeps me sane. Constant optimism nearly killed me. Literally.
Get real, life is not that simple. All you need to do is say it and we can all live a life of luxury, not at all! You really believe that crap! Illness, age, commitment, responsibility, constrictions! Come on get real please.
If only it were that easy. Outside factors, not under our control, often derail our work. ๐

Yes! I WAS that person and still am, but it was all clicking and I was accomplishing my goals,etc etc and then BAM!! At about 42 yrs old, Everything started to fall apart and it was ALL OUT OF MY CONTROL!! I had the weight of the world on my shoulders putting out fires and could no longer keep working toward my purpose. My hands have been TIED!!! I STILL KNOW what I WILL accomplish and achieve, but itโs like yet another freight train barrels into me and stops me in my tracks JUST WHEN I FEEL LIKE โTHISโ is THE TIME it all turns around because things are falling into place, and then WHACK, disaster hits and I have to STOP and FIX something MAJOR! Whatโs up with that???

I am taking care of my elderly parents, who have no money to live in a care home, I can't get out of that, somethings you CAN'T change, it's that simple, there is no one else.I had to quit my job to care of them I am working hard to find happiness inside my reality but I can't change my reality, no matter what.

Maybe her parents had her late in life, and she hasnโt had time to build a wealthy portfolio.
Maybe she has been busy 24/7 because sheโs putting herself through college while working. Likely, because her parents canโt support themselves.
Or maybe sheโs skipping college to work her way up thru the ranks at a company, which takes years, considering the competition.
Just how quickly was she supposed to raise the kind of financial support sheโd need to put them in a home?
She clearly has no one to help her so, perhaps there is no other family, or within her proximity to help her.
Simply put, we donโt know the circumstances, life, trials and maybe hardships in his/her world.
She clearly sounds strong based on her attitude since sheโs working hard to find happiness in spite of her circumstances. I commend and applaud him/her for that!! Attitude is so important so yay!!
Furthermore, anyone who knows what a narcissist is can see it in EVERY line you wrote, AND is why youโre trying to treat me the exact same way by using every characteristic in the very definition of narcissism.
The bottom line is you just immediately slammed her without even considering the entire set of his/her circumstances. Walking in her shoes for just one week would be a good start. Now who doesnโt care to read?? You didnโt have enough to read and learn about her BEFORE YOU were bullying HER, while sheโs already down no less.
And tell me WHERE was your solution, in all that, after you slapped her hard? I was standing up for her so she doesnโt put ANY weight in YOUR WICKED and hurtful comment. You offered her nothing but an insult and blame. Classic narcissism. Thatโs it! Thatโs why you donโt belong here.

Please check with Medicare. I believe they will pay for a certain number of hours a week for home health care. You need breaks.
Both u and Lindsey are doing an admirable job , unbelievably hard , I have a similiar situation but I say to myself , it wonโt always be this way itโs a season or maybe a couple but it will end , it will be sad but youโll be able to move on knowing u did everything u couldโve , guard your mind and body , donโt try to be perfect , God Bless u both , from darkness there will be light

I think we all tell ourselves โit wonโt happen for meโ is this. Many of us who were once extremely motivated and fired up got shown by life that too does end. Everything else is just one letdown experience after another. Itโs tough once youโre in the hole looking up at the light.

These parent, what they speak haunts us, But we need to gradually silence those voices as our parents are not always right.
i will have that lifestyle and I deserve it and I will take every action needed to reach those dreams and goals, but along the way I wont forget how to have fun and i wont take everything too seriously. I'll do my best to be in high spirit through out the journey.
I have what it takes, and have been doing well on my own as an entrepreneur for a long time but my desease is so disabling at times I can't get out and do what I do best, print money with my mouth.

Couldn't agree more. 2007 I knew why I was depressed...I had to dig out...it was a long and arduous several years. I wonder for those 45 people who've disliked this video so far, that the problem is not that they don't think they are worthy, but that they think they are entilted and thus believe they aren't the ones that is to put in the work to make that change.
I know because I too was once in that state of mind until i realized that that belief isn't going to do anything but keep me where I don't want to be - by exchanging my ability to make things happen right away, for risking my entire life wasting valuable limited time being dependent on luck for things to magically turn things around instead.
Once I realized this, no more. Screw waiting. You can die any second and I'm not going to live my life not getting the things that I know will fulfill me.

I believe that "what I want" is unreasonable. My expectations are too high. My trackrecord in life is evidence of that. I am working on trying to accept life the way it is instead of continually wishing for greener grass.

the people complaining in the comments, have you watched the video? She doesn't say you're unhappy because it's your fault, she's saying most of the times it's the lack of self-esteem we have and the fear of failure or takingthe plange, it's the mean voice in our head that says "it'll never happen for me" etc... she's not saying you're unhappy 'cause you want to.
also love and family life are another thing. You can't control the family you're born into, trust me I know. You can, however, choose how to react to the situation you're in.
When most of your family don't have time for you, it can be very sad, lonely and frustrating, but l do my own thing, and try to realize how busy they are, anyway.
Feeling like i dont belong in this world. Too much evil, negativity and cant seem to get the things i want in life.

I'm reaching higher in my field of work. But at home I'm struggling. Money, my wife and my kids. I want them to have everything I never had. I can never reach it. Despite the overtime I put in. The effort I put in I can never get them the things they want. Eveytime I seem to get things sorted something expensive seems to mess things up
The problem is that Iโm not willing to put in the work 90% of the time. Itโs rare when I am, and yet I am super dissatisfied

So agree, but doing the work is hard. I want kids but I am not willing or ready to go over fertility treatments, health risks etc. I just accepted it will never happen because I chose to not do the work. Not everyone is ready to do the work especially if surcumstances are against you. I sometimes prefer to go with the flow instead of pushing through the wall. I know there is fear involved, but my logical brain is stronger than my desire. Is that so bad?
No. Go at your pace with that because itโs a tough journey. I did it all but I pushed hard and then I totally self destructed and couldnโt handle it anymore. My best advice is keep the communication lines open with your partner (If that the way your are doing this) and discuss all angles. Ask yourself is it worse if it never happens or do you really really want it. โค๏ธ

This is misleading, and unfair to place people's unhappiness on their shoulders. You can see people's happy family life and it's not something you can just work towards yourself. I've learned I need to accept myself the way I am. And I can't expect others to see and understand my experiences the way I do. I have to accept that how they think and feel is in their control and not mine. I do believe things I want can happen for me. I just have to acknowledge that others won't always understand or care about the things I do and that is okay. Because I don't have to pressure myself to get them either.

SOOoooo TRUE! I took a job back in 2008 and burned myself out for the next 12 YEARS! I quit and went back
3x because I had no savings, couldn't find anything else, and I knew THIS line of work!! Better the evil you know kinda thing. I! WAS! BEYOND! MISERABLE!!! It had destroyed my health and mental wellbeing. I'm FINALLY OUT! Why did I take the job in the first place?
