She had a tough time making her video. Her manager, who is also a photographer, directed it, and her best friend designed the costumes. They struggled to rent locations for the shoot, and you can even spot her little sister as an extra. She explained that it took them a year to save up the money, and they were only able to film it by doing a favor in return. Despite all the challenges, the video turned out great, especially considering it was her first music video and her debut song

Just a correction. Tyla was never lit or popular in SA. I for one followed her and her work but very few people knew her and her music. So yes, she did just blow up out of nowhere, thanks to her management. Nabl has been doing wonders for her. But yeah, I've been waiting for this for her because I've always believed in her stardom.
