Can't wait! Might be working but I keep that "bell" ringing anyway! Anyone have any suggestions on painting engine shrouds? I'm thinking just the outside, does it have to be heat resistant? More issues with gas and other pollutants than worth the effort? Hmmm....🤔
Awwww yeahhhh🔔 As for paint, I feel like heat wouldn't be a big issue on the shroud but you do raise a great point about gas... I'm sure someone makes a clear coat that's gas etc resistant!
Here is a 2k clear in a rattle can. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0178ABUVM/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_9?smid=A1PM9ILMIUJHV2&psc=1 I did a gas tank in a metallic rustolium and used that as a clear coat. It works great and holds up to gas.
Holy crap! I had no idea they made little alternators like that. What a game changer. I'm definitely going to look into getting one for my rig. Just an idea to simplify things have you guys thought about direct drive the alternator off pull rope side.
Right!? And I've seen people replace their pull start with a pulley for an alternator. But with all the trail riding and adventuring we do with these builds I still wanted to be able to pull the engine over by hand in case the battery goes and I'm out in the woods!
Yes I agree that back up pull rope is the big difference between driving or walking home. I'm sure you guys will come up with a plan that will amaze us as has been done since episode 1 love the videos rock on guys!!!
The link to the parts list doesn’t work. I’m wanting to do something similar on my motorized picnic table. I’m running a predator 459 with. 780 series cvt. What size pulls and belt did you use for the drive side?
hey my 2021 tiking 200cc 4 seater has a 11 pole stator and when running testing at the battery its about 15 +- volts is that to much? im going to be running a stereo system on my kart and plan on putting a much larger AH battery so more charging is ok with me jsut dont want to over do it.. yall think 15+- charging colts to battery on
With that pully on the drive shaft....doesn't that put the clutch outward more and leave a gap in the bore of the drive clutch? Do you just use a long bolt and thread it really tight?
Also have you guys thought about adding an ATV winch to the karts you can get them fairly cheap from harbor freight might be a bit over kill but could be useful if you take it off a cliff again
Love the videos man! I had real hard time deciding to go 420 or go all out 670 last couple days and watched your videos and love yours, but I'm going 670 for bad results probably already sunk me for $2k first order. Anyways you inspired me to go bigger than my 212, like you said you want tehm wheels to spin! You have someone very talented editing your videos as well as content, top notch! It will take me a while I got a lot of welding to do for the v-twin lol Torque convertor $600 for them thats rediculous thats like 2/3 engine price lol
Heck yeah man! I love hearing that! The 420 just bareeeely fits into our Yerf Dogs but I definitely want to build a 670 at some point. Thanks for watching!!
I dig the idea. But not the camera work. U never left the camera stationary on any part of the build for more than one second. Well beside the long shots of the sparks coming off the cutting wheel.…
I found out that Amazon sells those alternators under two different application names one for John Deere and one for Yanmar. They look identical with the same specs and the ones for Yanmar sell for around $80 and the ones for John Deere sell around $60.
Thank you for all I’ve learned so far from watching your videos!! May I ask how you were able to compensate for the alignment of the driven pulley of the torque converter when you put the alternator drive pulley on the crank behind the drive clutch?
Spoiler Alert, It actual ended up being installed in the right orientation, I just wasn't taking my reading correctly on the multimeter. I still had to take it completely apart though and redesign the alternator bracket to be independent of the swing arm. We SHOULD be good to go now and you'll get an even better explanation next week!
Whoever is holding the camera needs fired! They suck! It would be nice to see what you are actually doing instead of being out of focus and shaking for the whole video.
Why don't you put the camera on the tripod and show your work in front of it. Leave all the artsy fartsy bullshit out and show what you're doing. I don't give a shit about out of focus fades, steady cam work or spark shots. Show us what you are doing and how you're doing it. It's not that hard.
Thanks man that’s a really good tip on that alternator. Good show
Thanks Lavern! We're spending a lot of time on the electrical system right now. More helpful content on the way!

@@MegaKencam awesome!! Thanks so much for the link!!
What pulley did you use on engine?
Yo what is this type of filming and videography called? Just asking so I can avoid ever watching it in a build video in the future.
Congratulations on 1000 subs man

Looks like i found my inspiration to get my bike alternated up .thanks.
Do it!! I'm gonna do our MB200 soon!

hi!!
Hi there 🙂
Hey!!

Which specific alternator did you use for this? When I click on the link it only leads me to the website.

How did you wire it up bro? That's awesome, thanks for sharing
That's as far as we got in that video! Next Tuesday will be the actual wiring!
Do you know the part number for the pulley you used on the crank shaft?
Got phatmoto with a built ghost 212 would this system work for me using my jack shaft?
With that pully on the drive shaft....doesn't that put the clutch outward more and leave a gap in the bore of the drive clutch? Do you just use a long bolt and thread it really tight?
Essentially yes, but now will the lathe im turning the pulleys narrower
@@TyranisCustoms Thank you.
Great work guys! Keep it up

Thanks Terry! We'll keep the videos comin!
Also. I already have two 2500lb harbor freight winches I've been waiting to surprise yall with 🤫😉 Great minds think alike!

@@TyranisCustoms Chop Chop! lol Thats what I feel like is going to happen to my kart haha Can't wait for more videos guys!
@TyranisCustoms i recently put a 420 on my coleman ctu200u-ex with a 40 series torque converter. Its wild for sure.
Does the alternator pump out ac voltage? Like on the engine or is it somehow pumping out usable dc voltage for lights and stuff. Cool video dudes.
Until this comment I was just taking for granted that it seemed to be 12v dc... I plugged our lights up to it at idle and they come right on!
@@TyranisCustoms that's a win!!!
can yall do a video on how you put did the spacer for the alternator?

I'm still waiting for the video showing how you hook that up on your cart.
Is that a 40 series clutch you have on there?
Will this work with a billet flywheel Tyranis?

Yessirrr! We've got an eletrical system playlist with everything in there!

Excited to see it!
Man you should make and sell those custom mounts. I need one for a Preditor 224CC
Hay Dino
Hey!! :)
What happens if u take an alternator from a semi truck and do this
It would probably work! Just be heavier than you need haha
Would it be faster? I mean the weight distribution could help torque and traction am I wrong?
The links are not working
Hello! Top! I do the same with a gx390 on my buggy ;) you can look my last video in French 😂🤙
I took a couple years of French back in high school, I'll have to check it out hahaha🥖🐌🍷
