Bottle Digging - How to Locate & Find Antique Marbles - Trash Picking - Marble Run

- This is how I find vintage marbles. Until the 1960's.......there was no TRASH MAN....or trash pickup. Every family went to a Town Dump and dumped their trash. The golden age of machine made marbles is from the 1920's to the 1960's. In those layers of trash.....THERE ARE MARBLES TO DIG. Marbles were the most popular toys during this time period. Almost every kid had them.....and the majority were thrown away. In this upload......I show you how to find them.
The marbles are super cool!
But that pet squirrel is so darn cute!
He seems like a very well fed and happy squirrel great job raising him 😁
Thank you very much! Merry Christmas
@@rockscousteau Love you, Marbles! I can use the pack of 10
I know precisely zero about marbles. Yet, this was: riveting. Thanks for sharing your lucky day with us.
Hard to leave when you're uncovering so many dandees! They are gorgeous all together in the frame. The colors are so vivid.
The marble with the red band with the darker color bordering it is a MK marble called a Rainbow red. I've seen you find a couple more on your channel with different color bands bordering the red then this one but one band will always be red with white on both poles.. They are not near as common as other MKs and I'm convinced that they were made at the St. Mary's plant because the only one I've found was dug up with three beat up St Mary's cat-eyes. Very nice find Rocks!
Wow , Rocks I believe you are the marble king! I dig old dumps some for mainly bottles and jars. Never really thought that much about finding marbles but after finding your channel it definitely changed my perspective. Especially about the history of them, different types and manufacturing time periods. Thanks for sharing.
That's a good score of marbles. Thats a lot of bumblebees. Dont get stung🤣🤣 all those marbles are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
We did call them marbles. But we had respect for themand they were special. The game was a big part of my life at time. Calling them toys was unheard of. Unless your a kid now days!
Mass Rivers"yea, found a marble"Cathy in full affect.Glad you shared her channel with us.
Very cool! Those 2 find some of the best of the best. I love watching their channel. They are super nice people too
I used to have a bag full of old marbles big ones small ones something tells me they weren't just plain jane. They were dark glass. Wish I could find them again.
So I'm not not the only person digging marbles upright that's great man I've dug up over 1200 marbles in the past few years..
Thanks for the tips & showing us your great finds.
Thanks for watching!
M A R A T H O N upload Rocks, and I loved every bit of it. That dump'll be your Home away from Home for many many more months.
I saw marbles at top roof of dirty little caves. 😊 I hope you not giving up search and bottles history etc. 😊
I learn more about marbles watching you then looking in books thanks
Well that squirrel is super cute and loving every minute of the chin rubs.
hahahah. yea. I am just getting home. he is going outside to run...hahaha
I live in a place that used to be a pond, so I have found many Native American artifacts, especially recently. Today, though, I found a marble (It's white with two swirls)...coincidentally, after watching many of your videos, recently, too.
Good morning 🌞 getting ready to watch .
Good morning!I going to the river for an hour or so...then back to dig marbles again

That red and orange marble king is amazing stay safe
Love the bumble bees that look purple!
Good morning Rocks, another awesome pile of marbles, just swarming with bumblebees, love the egg yoke swirled one..
It’s like having your own marble mine. Instead of gold, silver or coal, you have MARBLES! It’s hard to leave when the marbles just keep coming. I’d stay too. The August frame is almost full. WOW 😮. I love the cat eye marbles. Got to be my favorite. They are all very cool and pretty. Thanks for the video. My best to your folks and pets. Later, Joyce. Connecticut 🇺🇸. ARROW *🎱
I’m a squirrel parent too. And, I love finding marbles.
Yea. I may go try for marbles today. I probably will. Take a day off from arrowheads
@rockscousteau
Do u have any beginners tips for arrowheads? South Eastern Oklahoma
Back in the early 90s I asked a girl if she would like to go marble hunting with me. She looked at me very seriously and asked, "Do you sneak up on them?". I used to go dig at old abandoned schools. 😊
Thanx for sharing one of your many hobbies, and it encouraged me to get out today and make a video, while on the hunt for vintage vitro marbles.. Found 14 and a half, in 3 hours, and couldn’t be more happy with the outcome.. Be cool to find the mother lode of marbles that someone tossed out, all together..
The hybrid bumblebees sick marbles
👍
I like the blue swerl ones
I rode by my old middle school yesterday and I saw that the city is tearing the whole thing down! Too bad they've got huge fences all the way around it! I bet they found lots of marbles out there!
I been trying to watch all your videos love all your finds awesome , I wish I could find a old town dump
Bam 💥 right off the bat, “Yellow & White Cork Screw” is absolutely gorgeous. As always, Nice Video Rocks 👍
Sweet marbles great balls of fire nice video what a collection keep it up
My grandfather had a pet skunk as a boy that he saved and raised as a pet - never de-scented - he was tame as a dog. He used to tell me that their pastor would stop by after church on Sundays and ask to pet him. I want a pet skunk. 🙂
That Dr Pepper bottle was from the 60's. No wonder I don't find many marbles. I only dig 1945 and older. But that seams to be the right age for marble digging.
Wow . Too cool !
Amazing pocket of marbles … I love them all… nice 👍 I just started collecting marbles… and I just found a good old town dump in a small town in Ohio🤞 hopefully the first dig I do I get into a pocket of marbles like these.
I’ve never had any marbles, I guess I had to work to soon, I’m finally getting a marble from crick diggers, I won it in auction. But this is fantastic
Awesome finds - thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
You're a digging machine Rocks !!
I have just been going for a few hours daily.....it is paying off looking around in different places
You found a whole hive of bumblebees, Rocks! Those hybrids are awesome!😊💖
👍
It was literally a cornucopia of marbles!! Awesome video sir, thanks as always for bringing us along on the ride!
Thats an awesome haul, i really like the hybrid bumble bees...but alot of those were really nice.
Great finds man! I'm itching to get on one of the VERY few dumps I know of to dig out here in Utah.
Hope to see more days like this.
If I was a drinker I would make your videos a drinking game. Every time you say "I'm going to leave" we have to take a drink. There would be alot of drunk people. I'm just messin with ya. Great video. Honey hole. Stay safe.
Squirrel man was tired😴awww...Seems your doing well Rocks💪as always I love when you do you're dump digging🤙
How AMAZING!! I'D Love to find places to dig.. Thanks for the info.. I mean showing us as you dig..AWESOME!!
Just ask around.....Before say 1960 in most places there was no trash pickup. It was all dumped in multiple places that were most convenient for the people and where they lived. Most towns have thousands of dumps...and a few real big ones. Ask anyone over 70 years olf if they remember seeing trash or glass on the ground. Hunters and fisherman are also good people to ask....and State Road Workers who do work on the sides of roads
Just about every marble you pulled out was gorgeous, but that first Akro agate marble reminded me of lemonade in a glass. Then it had that bright yellow corkscrew swirl around it...even prettier when you held it up to the light!
That Alley Agate white based caramel swirl at 6:10 is superb! Some of Alley's swirls tended to produce "flames" much like the Christensen Agate marbles of a few years before and it has been suggested that Alley purchased and used Christensen's machinery. Thanks for the video!
I've missed a total of 16 whole vids and 2 partials ..they got me back to working the last 2months an we're working 6&7 day's a week 10 or 12 hours a day !!🤥 Normal is regular 40hr work week . Lottsa folks didn't return back or left shortly after coming back to find a Non-stop overflow of packages to be readied for shipment and trucks backed up for unloading and processed into inventory's for back orders.. World Market/ Cole Haan/ French toast school uniforms .... And much, much More ! Overwhelmed is a Gross understatement !💯
Nice haul Rocks!Keep on rollin!
Marbles Galore! Awesome Rocks! Enjoyed the video. That's a workout moving those rocks - be careful.
Yes....I moved concrete pieces for over an hour today. I felt like I was going to puke when I left. LOL
Wow Rocks, tearing it up. That is probably where my marbles wound up. In a dump along with my baseball cards, Great how too video. All of your videos are very educational.
Love marbles thank you for sharing your knowledge
You have-you have,it's in the news, you definitely captured the vintage marble market! Pop the cork, it's party time! I'm going by only the angle I see. Looks like your digging one hell of a hole there. Please, for us, be aware of possible cave ins.Be safe, Thanks for the video .
Forgot the Ha-Ha-ha after the words party time fore, I was just making a joke.
You are rockin it. Nice case. Hope you get to float down the river soon.🐿 ❤
Whoa Rocks , you got the Bumblebee Family Reunion going On , Love that crazy looking one you like, 🐝🐝🐝🐝💛💜🖤Thank You 🐿️ Hugs
Another good video rocks awesome marbles I like that one bumblebee it’s if that’s what it is then cat eyes are awesome too and that one swirl the yellow one and I and white awesome good job give a squirrel man a scratch later
With the number you are finding, there should be a lot more. I suspect that if you set up a sifter to get rid of most of the dirt, you could improve your recovery rate drastically. You could just pull out the roots and large rocks from the hole, then shovel the soil into a bucket to carry to the sifter.
It's not fair that you find that quantity of nice marbles 😀, also, people would pay for the bottles u called worthless. Remember. They will never make them again
Fncking great vid. Some good El Chapo footage too. Thanks, Rocks.
Man I love what you've found today! Amazing variety and that Bumblebee hybrid was awesome!
Kept me busy buddy.Had a great time reviewing this video.Read all the nice comments from greatest people on earth.Makes my day a lot better. Thanks for sharing.🍉🐿️☃️🌠💯🇺🇸🐶🐕☕☕ BrrrrrrrrrrrrrI'm

Hi! I am new to your channel and really enjoying your viddies. Squirrel Man is a lucky, happy little guy. Seems he has you wrapped around his little paw. So sweet. Not sure where you are from, but your accent sounds like parts of here in Maryland. Dig on!
@Bevy King.Hope you are still watching.I ☃️🐿️🐿️ Brrrrr
Sweet finds! Stay safe.
I think it's time for you to invest in the company that makes the Riker frames. Because you buy more than anyone else in the world. LOL Awesome video Rocks. Love the live action. Happy hunting and God bless brother.
Lve watching your videos bro I think I got the Marble bug !!😊
collecting marbles will keep you out of trouble
@@rockscousteau it’s
Just hard to tell the old ones from the new ones
WOW ROCK!!!!! Like you said there's no one on you tube digging more marbles then you do. What an awesome day you have had. Like I have told.you before you are truly the marble king. Rock the marble king. An the video was sweet with all the live digs. Like you said, you have a long ways to go with dump. Plenty of dump to dig. That makes for lots of videos. An that's what it's all about. Making the videos finding the marbles. Just out of curiosity have you ever set down an tried to determine just how many marbles you have found ??? That would good to know. An your frames are feeling up fast. You can almost fill one in a day. With days like today. Awesome day rock. You rocked it out. As always safe an happy hunting/digging.😁👍👍👍👍
The veteran with a B is special
Disregard that the throes with a VE are special

It’s red white and blue bistro’s mind me of Pepsi’s
Man I'm just speechless I have run out of comments. But seriously I'm leaving this time . Lol cracks me up .
So how about a family dump site from the 20s and 30s? It amazes me that that many marbles would be thrown out at those sites. But, I don’t think I kept mine when I grew up; never knew that they were worth anything.
Well if it is just one family....what if the kids did not have marbles...you may find none. You want where an entire town dumped. That is why i find them. Back in the 1950's a bag of 100+ marbles was 10 cents in a dime store. A bag of 50 were 5 cents. That is why there are so many....they were not worth much then and most kids had them. You just have to get in the right spots. and You will find a crapload of them
@@rockscousteau we found a homemade marble where my 94 year old father grew up. He said there should be some marbles around the old home place, but not worth digging without knowing where.
@@MrsinTN wow I bet there are more of them. I have dug some///sifted in places like that. I always found a few along the old sidewalks and under porches. But I never found a bunch....just a few
Nice Haul, looks like a fun hobby
It is! Start asking around. Anyone 75 or older will remember dumping....and I mean this....all the marbles and these cheap mass produced dime store toys got thrown away. You will have success
Just incredible...💚
👍
You do great content
Nice finds brother
Thanks for coming & taking the time to comment.
Wow Rocks you tore it up wow wow and wow
love the squirrel?
yea he is my buddy
Good morning! Nice finds:)
Do you dare drink the water in St. Marys, West Virginia? I think not! Bring your own ice and drinks.
Wow, just wow Rocks! You are killing the marbles. If you keep going like you are I might see if Riker frames has any shares for sale lol. Good luck on your next outing!!
Rock do you sell the frames with the marbles or do keep them?
👍👍👍👍👍
Love your videos, would like to see your marbles framed.
Excellent video ! Man you were on the marbles for sure in this video ! Congratulation for all your finds ! Good luck and best wishes on your next hunt ! Yeah I remember them, the five & dime store. There was one in the town where my dad lives, it was call ( Sterlings ). I remember when we were kids my mom would let us buy bags of peanut, sometime i would get assorted .
I did that before when i was 6, my teacher was like why are you playing in the dirt, my reply is i heard rumors you can find marbles under dirt,I'll go back doing that or buy some at stores even though i retired from marbles but marbles are cool to collect
This man was an epic dig for marbles... unreal dude . You need to find that layer again lol . Holla back man ....you good ???
👍😎
(This is Tom, not Sandra.)
Sir, just imagine how many different marbles, tiny toys, and misc. treasures you could be missing just a few feet from the excavation holes you actually do dig. It's mind-blowing, most likely, what you could be leaving behind just a few feet from the actual holes you do dig. I hope you always find ALL the marbles, toys, and collectibles you want to find in your searches. Take care and be very careful and watch out for snakes and other vermin that may hinder your searches. You don't want to be stung and/or bitten by anything that is poisonous, sir!!
Have fun!!!!
I have Never seen a bumblebee 😍 was born in '65 and played alot of marbles in elementary but where they went? Somewhere in a landfill in the mountains of eastern Oregon
You can even go to old schools and just dig where the recess yard was. There would be marbles all over the place...Any school from 1930-1960.....that is the age when all the marbles were lost. All the good ones anyways
@@rockscousteau I went to a 1 room schoolhouse in Sumpter Oregon from 72-75 for 2nd through 4th. It's a home now but I have some ideas because we used to dig bottles in town
That blue marble at 4:20, bottom right.
I was wondering if I was the only one that saw that or if my eyes were playing tricks on me!
@@ovetaalexander3425 I'm still having nightmares about that lost blue marble!
What a good video to bad I don’t know of anything in ct
Sorry I asked before the end of your video
Hey Brother. Sorry I am so late . Been up almost all night. Finally just passed out. Bad health issues, I am in a lot of pain. Thanks for another incredible video. And yep you hit the marble mine ! Can't wait to see what happens next ! Later,,,,,,
