I think it makes sense that way so they don't have 2 Dick Graysons on the big screen at the same time
@@isaiahheath2395 Well, im pretty sure that if Matt Reeves chooses to adapt Dick Grayson on the big screen they'd pick a younger version around 12 or so. I don't believe he would make it to Nightwing in the Elseworlds. Plus since James Gunn went with Damien that means that we could potentially be seeing two different Robin's in theaters at the same time. Agreed. The shitty mcu (imo) have brainwashed the casuals minds. Like the DC universe is soo much richer. With swamp thing we can have John Constantine or even detective chimp etc Gunn is establishing the lore of DC. I wish we see a Vandal Savage movie or him as a villain for the JL. I love this slate.
James Gunn is very good at making obscure comic book characters relevant; nobody knew about the Guardians of the Galaxy in Marvel except for comic book readers, but now those Guardians movies are recognized as some of Marvel's best content. With the Suicide Squad movie, he really made some of those characters really compelling and cool, like Bloodsport, Peacemaker, and etc. I'm definitely interested in this "Authority" film/show, mainly because of that Batman/punisher character named Midnighter, who I think looks badass.
@@Caboose Some of those heavy hitters were Iron Man, Black Widow and Thor, characters that ALSO nobody knew with the exception of Marvel comicbook readers.
Idk why Caboose is freaking out over obscure characters. Gunn is literally the king of making weird and obscure characters mainstream, popular, and recognizable. Any obscure character(s) Gunn announces for a TV show or movie - I'm down. I always thought Caboose was a reasonable person and pretty calm, but in this video, the dude was kinda sounding like a douche. Just remember he hasn't announced everything just yet.
The truth is while I’m super happy about Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Batman and Blue Beetle I was already anticipating projects like that. However the Authority is a HUGE surprise! One that I’m really excited for.
IDK why people think that Damien will be the First Robin, since nobody confirmed it. I've heard a rumour about that Bruce had no idea about Damien for 8-10 years or so, which means that Batman won't be as young as we think. It seems to me that the Golden Trio Heroes will not have an Origin story movies (it's the case with new Superman) in new DCU.
I mean I get that introducing lesser known characters right at the beginning of this reboot could be weird but we don’t know what kind of story they are going for. The Authority is a team of “heroes” that will do anything to achieve their idea of justice. That could mean that instead of making a large antagonist to the justice league show up for only one movie and then be gone or as small cameos throughout the first chapter, Gunn could be making it so that an antagonist group has more depth and history before the justice league comes together as the true form of justice on earth and takes down the Authority. Yeah it wasn’t really what I might have wanted or thought was coming either but I think they are just trying to take a risk and make something that doesn’t just look like a copy of Marvel’s formula
I’m mostly excited for the Green Lantern project out of all of these. And I agree with you on how they should’ve used Jason Todd and his storyline. But I’m still excited for Brave and the Bold nonetheless.
How you reacted is so genuine yet respectful. Unlike others who just on set just rant and seemingly doesnt want to listen to whatever Gunn is gonna say
@@Nephetssings And Tim Drake absolutely should be Robin. Compared to the two before him, his other identities haven’t taken off nearly as well, and arguably he’s the best as a quintessential sidekick Robin alongside Batman anyway.
"should we start the brand new universe with the super obscure Authority". Said by a person who never touched a Authority comic and don´t know how great it is
I’m glad they are starting with Damien. Like he said it would be an entrance to all of the bat family. That way we get a night wing movie and even a red hood movie.
doesn’t mean damian is the first robin. just means the story they’re telling, involves him. nightwing and red hood might be out there already. maybe not. we’ll see
@@Caboose I imagine they don't want to do Robin 4 different times. So they will probably already have Dick as Nightwing, Jason as Red Hood, and Tim as Red Robin.
@@Caboose do you think that maybe they want to focus on nightwing or redhood specific projects? and in order to do that they need these characters already established? personally i would like that
@@allannn2563 I much rather have them use damian as robin, and introduce us to Dick and Jason as nightwing/red hood. The interactions between them would be gold.
Well, Damian's not the first Robin, he's definitely after Dick Grayson, they're clearly just making Batman a veteran crime fighter who's had other Robins before
They making Damian The Robin of the DCU because he's the 4th Robin so dick is already Nightwing Jason is already Red Hood tim drake is Red Robin and they already out there it makes sense
Counter for being against Damian being our forst Robin:be honest, would you rather start with Grayson as Robin or already have Nightwing,Red Hood, etc. out there? Cause I doubt majority of people wanna wait another 5+ years to get those characters
They could already have Nightwing, Red Hood and Tim Drake already established then give Nightwing and Red Hood solo movies that will explain how they went from Robin to Nightwing and Red Hood and I’m guessing Brave and the Bold will also establish the League of Assassins with the full supernatural elements unlike the nolan films.
I’ve never felt so good about DC! We shouldn’t be surprised that this slate isn’t what everyone expected because James did make Guardians of the Galaxy after all. Not making obvious choices is the best thing to do.
Imagine starting off with Dick Grayson..... how long will it be until we do get Damian Wayne? Until WB decides to do another reboot. Im glad they are starting with Damien which means the entire Bat family is already established.
Exactly. It would take years to see Damian like 9 yrs 😂 that’s too long. I like this genius idea of him first but Bruce had the brothers before. And hopefully we will get under the red hood live action and now we can get court of owls or batman vs robin animated in live action
@@KingKhupacabra i would love to see "Hush" although the Matt Reeves Batman was kind of a Hush storyline. So yeh Under the Redhood would be great. Court of Owls might be more suited with the Matt Reeves Batman sequel
If it helps, it sounds like The Authority could end up being the reason the Justice League come together to take them out. Very least, gives me Superman vs The Elite vibes. It's going to be a lot of wait & see. The Elseworlds label will probably be handy
I think the authority will end up be the villain for another Superman movie, something like Superman vs the Elite or maybe they will be the villain for the Justice League movie with Supergirl on their side, that's would be cool to see Clark Kent handle that situation
James Gunn said it is a semi sequel to Superman Legacy, and looking at Clark’s character and what he stands for I predict they will be antagonists in a Civil War type movie and lead him to form the Justice League

Dude’s shitty about Damien “being the first Robin” when nobody said that 😂 Nightwing could very well be established and show up in this just like 'Son of Batman'
Well if your introducing the audience to him first in this new DCU slate.. might as well call him the first 😒😒 what else everyone gonna think ?… should’ve started with Dick Grayson first

@@NoaHall fr we already seen dick and Jason many times we barely get to see damian like were tired of the same story about dick or Jason. Damian gives us something refreshing plus new dc fans get to know about him
The thing that doesn’t make sense is that if Damien is first, that means that Batman is older and experienced. Superman is way younger and getting his feet wet. That’s already making continuity issues. If he said he’s going for a younger team, it’s already messed up.
Bruce can slept with talia im his 20ish without condom and having 10yo son in his early 30, Dick already become Robin in his 26,Jason in his 28,Tim in his 30 and Damien in his 33-35...Done
I have to say im most excited for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow seeing the art of her blooded up with the sword, looks badass. But also Swamp Thing also looks great as a horror film. And the Lantern show, I can’t. Looks like they aren’t holding back by the sound of it, so I’m hoping for some Rated R projects.
I popped HUGE for Supergirl. So happy she's getting a solo film of her own. Wondering if Sasha Calle will continue in the role or will someone else be cast. Guess it depends on whatever happens in The Flash. Couldn't agree more about Swamp Thing. Everyone felt the show got done dirty and Gunn is not wasting time already got a movie lined up for him like LET'S GOOOOO!!! The elements of horror were ever present on the show too so the movie can once again tap into that. This slate for Chapter 1 looks promising and I'm excited. Paradise Lost and Booster Gold are the others I'm looking forward to the most.
They’re not doing evil Supergirl, they’re just doing Supergirl. That’s her origin. I’m not sure if you’re familiar with The Authority or not but it’s a great idea for a movie.
So Damien being Robin has me confused, cause that would mean Batman is pretty far along within his career and yet Superman is pretty much a new hero asked on what Gunn has said about the movie. It's a very similar case to the Synderverse so to me it still makes sense for them to have kept Cavill since he can still pull off a younger Superman
From what I'm hearin Aquaman and Shazam! are continuing into the new DCU. The Flash is also continuing but I think Erza Miller is getting recast for the next one and Wonder Woman is pretty much going to be a new version Like Superman and Batman after all the paradise lost TV series is going to be taking place before wonder woman was borne. Now for the Authority movie, I just want one thing, though it was a part of that for original comic and that is Manchester Black as a member.
Gunn said that these weren't the only things in the Gods and Monsters phase. There are more stuff in store but can't announce them yet, so we could see maybe other Robins in shows
More than likely we’ll here bout there casting of Superman at Comic-Con and also in the Batman robin movie has the bat family which means we get nightwing, redhood, batgirl, the huntress which is awesome
I always said he would use a more veteran Batman since Pattinson is the young and dark one. I really, really hope Jensen Ackles plays the DCU Batman and interact with his Nightwing, his Batgirl or Oracle, his Red Hood, his Tim Drake and now his son Damian.
My biggest concern is that it won’t all mesh together. Sure they could be good stand alone films but the whole point is to have a universe. It seems like James Gunn is just picking stories he likes and is going to try to force them to all come together. I hope it works out but I’m skeptical. Also I think starting with Damian and an older Batman is a drop of the ball… they should have just made Matt Reeves Batman the main one. It was an amazing film and it would have tied well with a young Superman that he wants. But pretty excited for lanterns hopefully it is good!
Caboose youre thinking too small. The potential for a full animated series prequel showing Dick, Jason and Tims time as robins. Potential videos games of it. Starting it off with Damian already being Robin is a great choice
@@Mr.PR2000 Yeah exactly whilst reeves films are building to that just having gunns version start off like that helps differentiate the two. Graysons probably already nightwing in this version
Edgier Robin?? Damien is the Edgier Robin! He’s an assassin. He will not be the first Robin. Remember, he said he was introducing the bat family. And yea, the Authority. Don’t forget a little movie called Guardians of the Galaxy that everyone said, WTF on before it came out. Gunn has got this
James is still definitely doing what he said he wanted to do a long time ago which is working on unknown characters instead of well known super hero’s but I he still is making some iconic superhero movies which is 👍
I don’t think any of this slate is “5 years away” he said this a part of Chapter One I think think it’s fair to say these are the next 3 years confirmed. Not to mention Creature Commandos are already in production.
Let's just hope they actually do it right this time. If they make good movies that's what we want. DC has hundreds of characters that can be brought to light and become more popular with shows, games, etc. And of course, keep a couple heavy hits right around the corner in Batman/superman to keep the money coming in
Don't forget people said the same thing about gardians of the galaxy and look how that turned out. So give creature commandos and the authority a chance. Especially the authority
i'm honestly torn with the news that the very first DCU Batman movie is gonna have Damien Wayne as Robin. not because i don't like Damien, but because it just means that we're jumping WAY ahead into this Batman's story and skipping really interesting movie/story ideas that could be done from his early history as The Dark Knight. we're not gonna get to see him evolve from this angry and self destructive Batman, to a Batman who has a Robin to soften him up (being Dick Grayson), or show why Dick eventually leaves his role as Robin to become Nightwing. we aren't gonna see how he's affected by his relationship with a younger Jason, or by his death, or by his return as The Red Hood, we're just gonna have The Red Hood be there, with that story being something we likely won't get to see. there are LOTS of other examples i could list, and dozens if not hundreds of stories that could be adapted/pulled from, and jumping this far into Batman's timeline eliminates a lot of that potential. that being said, seeing a fully fleshed out Bat-Family would be kickass, especially if that involves The Red Hood (who is someone i have wanted to see be done correctly in live action ever since i watched Under The Red Hood when i was younger). my only concern is that the stories told with these pre-established versions of the characters might feel hollow, or like there's no real stakes to them. like, why should i be invested in whether or not this Batman might die or fail to save the city when i JUST met this version of him, and don't know anything about his specific history/relationships/world. Iron Man's death during Endgame hit so hard because his story had been told over the span of like 10 years, and we got to see him fail, succeed, suffer, prosper, and everything in-between over that time period, right up until the end of his character arc with him choosing to save all of reality from certain destruction by sacrificing himself. i can guarantee that his death wouldn't have been nearly impactful (if impactful at all) if we started seeing his story from somewhere around Homecoming, or Civil War, or even Age of Ultron. there's also the smaller fact that this Batman has been around long enough to have like 4 different Robins (assuming that none get skipped/erased, which would be lame), giving me the impression that he's pretty far along in his career, but Superman is only in his second year or so of being Superman, implying a pretty large age discrepancy for the characters which just feels weird honestly. i really hope that it works out, but i would've felt more confident with the idea of utilizing Robert Pattinson's Batman for the DCU, and just including it and it's sequel in the new universe like they're choosing to do with Shazam and Aquaman, for some reason.
I think people are assuming they’re doing a hard reboot of everything. But we know the Superman and Batman movies are not origin stories. I think they’re just going in, we’re in a developed universe, learn and adapt. And we’ll explore that universe with more obscure characters rather than focusing entirely on the flagpole characters
Ok to be fair, he did say, this isn’t the entirety of chapter 1, and granted, he did say the chapter is gods and monsters, there’s more amazing thing to be announced in the near future, be patience and let James cook like he already is
I feel like if they had heavier hitters than stuff like The Authority and Waller, they would have announced those instead with this big reveal. The fact is we have no idea what else is planned and we shouldn’t just sit back and celebrate because it might be amazing. When the announcements actually come, sure, but until then you can’t fault skepticism at the slate they did announce.
@Mashburn Edits You're getting a Superman, supergirl, and batman/robin movie, along with a GL show. Those are some heavy hitters already. Don't diss the authority. If they can pull it off, then they could be a juggernaut as well.
Gotta be honest, I'm still on the fence on this list. Especially because it barely focuses on the JL founding members first and focusing on obscure-ass characters.
I guess Now That We Know That the Brave And The Bold Movie Is Gonna Feature Damian Wayne As Robin with Batman Is Kinda Making Me Think That we could possibly Be Seing the Other Batfamily like Red Hood And Nightwing possibly In The Movie or A Hint but still Can't Wait to see What this Dcu Universe upcoming movies Has In store to offer
This guy's trippin. I like what we got announced. Heavy hitters mixed with new things and throwing the wildstorm characters like Grifter and Midnighter into the mix is awesome. Idk if they'll be in The Authority, but they are wildstorm characters. I don't like that some actors from the previous DCU will carry over and not all of them. Weird choice. I like every thing else.
“Why are we talking about The Authority if it’s not coming out in 5 Years?” DC has never really had a plan before, they want to people to see that they have it under control. Marvel announces movies that come out in Seven Years. It’s not that crazy, they want people who don’t know much about these characters to be excited and interested with this information.
Ye caboose is really ungrateful. Ye it sucks that we can't start with dick Grayson robin first But I'm just super happy that we can finally have robin and batman in love action together in 25 years
I don't get why everyone is downing the fact Damian is gonna be in the first batman movie. You do know this opens the door for a batman red hood story on the big screen since he already should exist and we can still get adult nightwing instead of Lil Robin greyson we could get adult mature greyson. We can still get the best versions of these characters without the massive time jumps it makes sense I think everyone's just Jason Todd fanboying be patient it's still possible more possible then if they started with dick.
I also think he will establish Damian as the first Robin in this universe, I don’t see Batman as an older 40+ years old, and Superman being much younger it would mean Batman will be a 50+ by the time they get to chapter 2. But we just gonna have to wait and see.
I think it's actually very good that they aren't just leading with A-listers. The DC universe is so much more than only the Justice League and it's time that general audiences knew that as well. Doing a mix of both the most popular and incredibly obscure characters, tells us that this truly is the full DC universe and not just Batman and his amazing friends. In the MCU the more obscure characters, which appear from phase 4 onwards, seem like a complete afterthought. The MCU really was just the Avengers. If a hero was introduced, they would be an Avenger. DC isn't only the Justice League.
Lesser known characters is great but as a foundation for a whole new cinematic universe I’m not so sure it works very well. The MCU as you mentioned started with the heavy hitters as a groundwork and then took risk later on with more obscure characters once audiences were pulled in. And it worked. And afterthought or no those obscure characters are now beloved household names because of Marvel using that strategy.
1. Get rid of Ezra miller as flash completely if he’s still sticking around 2. Damien being the first robin is stupid imo 3. I’m confused about how they will bridge away from the past characters peacemaker, suicide squad, aqua man, and Shazam sticking around.
Yea idk why they are doing Damian. I understand that in that universe the other robins will probably exist but let’s wait and see how it goes before we rip into it
Gotham Knights actually sucked in my opinion it didn’t feel right, the rpg mechanics don’t work well with those kind of games, also they pushed a lot of LGTBQ agenda into the game making Tim drake gay instead of focusing on the story.
i know wildstorm comics have been integrated into the mainline dc universe as of late, but i liked them better as its own standalone thing tbh but maybe it's gonna be like a guardians thing and he'll find a way to make their inclusion feel more natural
You don't know The Authority? Man, I feel old. Read the original Warren Ellis series. It was groundbreaking. This is the exact mix I expected from James.
Of course he doesn’t care abt the authorities or creature commando bc he doesn’t know what they are and isn’t willing to give it a new chance but he was probably super hype for eternals or moon knight
I will say in spite of my excitement you are spot on about the order and my original thoughts with the DCEU was James Gunn and the production wanted to can everyone who "didn't ruin the DCEU"...it wasn't acting that destroyed what we from DC it was vision and delivery. I honestly liked Black Adam and love Man of Steel Superman 🦸♂️ because I am clearly not a Superman fan except for old OLD Superman that could barely fly. That said I was invested in Henry C like no other Superman before and that rushed rainbow superhero Justice League original movie killed almost all hope for a good franchise. Loved Batman vs Superman but killing the edge from "Dark Comics/DC" is exactly what killed the DCEU...revive it with DARK 🤷
I don't mind them kinda cheating using some of the old cast as other characters instead. Like Jason Mamoa as Lobo I think could be pretty good. It moves on from the old stuff but allows them to try new roles that maybe they'd be more better suited for. But it's still weird that they instantly removed Cavil but don't seem to be wanting to remove other people. Especially people like Amber and Ezra who haven't been exactly on good behaviour. Also this just sounds the same just from the opposite direction. The first Batman movie is going to have Damien so 3 Robin's and Batgirl would have to be skipped over. Doesn't matter if they already exist, they'll still need to introduce them as new audiences won't know them. But Superman has a sorta origin story. Also games and cartoons will tie in to the overarching story? So basically what people had issues with stuff like Marvel and Kingdom Hearts. Marvel throwing shows that connect like god bless you that needs to be seen and Kingdom Hearts throwing plot important games onto devices people might not have. Some stuff sounds OK but overall, not really excited in the long run.
I couldn't be happier! I was expecting three or four obvious announcements like Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman, and maybe one actual fun announcement. I was not even in my wildest dreams expecting TEN announcements filled with so many deep cuts! I can't express to you how badly I need that Creature Commandos show, a team I've never heard of before today! I'm even more excited for that than I am for Booster Gold, a show that has been near the top of my wishlist for a very long time now! That being said, I'm a little iffy about that Supergirl movie since Supergirl is at her least interesting whenever she's portrayed as being angry or jaded. And that Lanterns show sounds like it has exactly the kind of tone I didn't want for a Green Lantern series, but as a GL fan, I'll give it a chance.
I really want to see a Justice League film, because Guardians of The Galaxy 1 is one of my favorite Marvel movies and it still holds up very well 'till this day. If he could balance the serious and funny moments perfectly like that film, his Justice League could become one of the best DCU films ever made.

Ye like the justice league aren't the only DC characters.
There are so many cool characters to do stories on as well
James Gunn is very good at making obscure comic book characters relevant; nobody knew about the Guardians of the Galaxy in Marvel except for comic book readers, but now those Guardians movies are recognized as some of Marvel's best content. With the Suicide Squad movie, he really made some of those characters really compelling and cool, like Bloodsport, Peacemaker, and etc. I'm definitely interested in this "Authority" film/show, mainly because of that Batman/punisher character named Midnighter, who I think looks badass.
But Guardians came AFTER they established their big, heavy-hitting characters.
@@Caboose Yes exactly. The mcu was already firmly established before introducing more obscure characters.
@@Caboose Some of those heavy hitters were Iron Man, Black Widow and Thor, characters that ALSO nobody knew with the exception of Marvel comicbook readers.
@@metallicnole4514 Out of the 6 original Avengers, 4 of them WERE obscure characters as well, why does everybody keep forgetting that
Idk why Caboose is freaking out over obscure characters.
2025 is going to probably be the biggest year in comic movie history

Gonna be lit
Ikr can’t wait:
Superman legacy
The batman part 2
And more depending on the dates
The truth is while I’m super happy about Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Batman and Blue Beetle I was already anticipating projects like that. However the Authority is a HUGE surprise! One that I’m really excited for.
'That's it!?'...Well, in total is 14 projects so it's going to be pretty awesome this first few years.
@@gamingnoah9807 We dont know which age Damien will be in the movies though.
To start with Damien Wayne is correct because it gives us nightwing, red hood etc with a possibility of flashback series or Film about them.
Exactly
I like what he announced here and the fact that it’s only a section of part one is very promising
Glad James confirmed that The brave and the bold has a full already established bat-family
I’m mostly excited for the Green Lantern project out of all of these. And I agree with you on how they should’ve used Jason Todd and his storyline. But I’m still excited for Brave and the Bold nonetheless.
The DCEU literally started with Dick Grayson already dead. I'm glad the whole thing is being rebooted.
Fr lmao i dont know why ppl are so upset
i can see how everything ties together i think this is gonna be amazing
How you reacted is so genuine yet respectful. Unlike others who just on set just rant and seemingly doesnt want to listen to whatever Gunn is gonna say
"first robin" It was at this moment i realized he has never read a batman comic.... Dick Grayson , Jason Todd , Tim Drake , Damian Wayne
Bruh, I know he's not the actual first Robin in comics, I mean he is the first Robin they are using for the start of DCU Batman films.
@@Cabooseyea because the others aren’t robin anymore.
It’s the introduction of the batfamily. You can’t have Damian without the others.
Said by a person who never touched a Authority comic and don´t know how great it is
You know what else is a really good, compelling story? Grant Morrison’s Batman run, which many consider the greatest of all time?
Those are all great lineups in paper but what matters is how they are executed let's hope that James Gunn actually delivers
I’m glad they are starting with Damien. Like he said it would be an entrance to all of the bat family. That way we get a night wing movie and even a red hood movie.
They could have done that with Tim as Robin though and it would Have been a 10x better decision imo
@@melancholyentertainment I respect it. Either or.
doesn’t mean damian is the first robin. just means the story they’re telling, involves him. nightwing and red hood might be out there already. maybe not. we’ll see
What I meant was Damian was the first Robin they are using in the DCU Batman film.
Yet they’re also doing a young Superman 😐
Counter for being against Damian being our forst Robin:be honest, would you rather start with Grayson as Robin or already have Nightwing,Red Hood, etc. out there? Cause I doubt majority of people wanna wait another 5+ years to get those characters
We could have had them and still have had Tim as Robin 😐
They could already have Nightwing, Red Hood and Tim Drake already established then give Nightwing and Red Hood solo movies that will explain how they went from Robin to Nightwing and Red Hood and I’m guessing Brave and the Bold will also establish the League of Assassins with the full supernatural elements unlike the nolan films.
I’ve never felt so good about DC! We shouldn’t be surprised that this slate isn’t what everyone expected because James did make Guardians of the Galaxy after all. Not making obvious choices is the best thing to do.
i actually have hope for gunn, hope everything is written well
Imagine starting off with Dick Grayson..... how long will it be until we do get Damian Wayne?
Superman legacy leads right into the authority
insane james gunn reveals all this and the things im most excited to see are the batman 2 and an appearance of nightwing in anything
peacemaker and TSS was the best thing about the last dc universe lmfao so not mad at all about that, thank fuck actually, also he never said damien was the first robin. they're not gunna make a new younger batman character that runs at the same time as reeve's young batman. cmon. also didn't seem like you understood the supergirl thing at all lmao
Caboose when DC reveals 10 projects that are a part of chapter 1: 😕🤷🏼♂️
Caboose when Marvel reveals a glup shitto cameo in Ant Man 3: 😱😱😱
I KNEW James of all people would pick Booster Gold. He's definitely writing that one lmao.
Dude’s shitty about Damien “being the first Robin” when nobody said that 😂 Nightwing could very well be established and show up in this just like 'Son of Batman'
I meant the first Robin they use on film for the DCU
Well if your introducing the audience to him first in this new DCU slate.. might as well call him the first 😒😒 what else everyone gonna think ?… should’ve started with Dick Grayson first
@@evilhom3r23 Or just be happy we’re getting a modern Batman movie with Robin period 🤷🏻♂️
I swear CB fans are the biggest crybabies of all time. We’re FINALLY getting a cohesive universe with people that take these beloved stories/characters seriously, and it’s still not enough 😂
@@NoaHall fr we already seen dick and Jason many times we barely get to see damian like were tired of the same story about dick or Jason. Damian gives us something refreshing plus new dc fans get to know about him
@@NoaHall A freaking men!
This is one of the first times I’ve actually seen you complain. Even smiled while playing Gotham knights and promoted it😂
The thing that doesn’t make sense is that if Damien is first, that means that Batman is older and experienced.
Brave and the bold is not an origin story it will probably already have nightwing I believe
I'm assuming they're gonna have Donna Troy be the main WW.
👍🏾👏🏾 better than what i expected looking forward now
My biggest concern is that it won’t all mesh together.
In the batman brave and the bold he has already had other Robin's like he has been batman a while but there will be other batgamily members
Caboose youre thinking too small. The potential for a full animated series prequel showing Dick, Jason and Tims time as robins. Potential videos games of it. Starting it off with Damian already being Robin is a great choice
All of that and then we still wouldn’t have a live action Tim Drake Robin on the big screen.
" Filming television and gaming. I like that.
Swamp thing booster Gold and creature commandos are what am vary interested to see
Their gonna need a ton of actors for all of these movies
You the man, Caboose!
There were rumors that Superman was going to be the same actor that played Kitty Pride in the X-Men movies.
my theory on why they're starting with damian is to not cause confusion when reeves eventually gets his hands on grayson as robin
That’s possible. That means that the Batman from the Brave and the Bold is a seasoned in his prime Batman.
@@Mr.PR2000 Yeah exactly whilst reeves films are building to that just having gunns version start off like that helps differentiate the two. Graysons probably already nightwing in this version
@@Arma-Dinlo I kinda wish Robert Pattinson would have been the main Batman for the DC movie universe.
Maybe the reason it’s Damien is because Matt Reeves wants to use Dick Grayson
I CANT WAITTTTTTT
Dick/jason/Barbra probably already exist doing their own thing
i'm honestly torn with the news that the very first DCU Batman movie is gonna have Damien Wayne as Robin. not because i don't like Damien, but because it just means that we're jumping WAY ahead into this Batman's story and skipping really interesting movie/story ideas that could be done from his early history as The Dark Knight. we're not gonna get to see him evolve from this angry and self destructive Batman, to a Batman who has a Robin to soften him up (being Dick Grayson), or show why Dick eventually leaves his role as Robin to become Nightwing. we aren't gonna see how he's affected by his relationship with a younger Jason, or by his death, or by his return as The Red Hood, we're just gonna have The Red Hood be there, with that story being something we likely won't get to see. there are LOTS of other examples i could list, and dozens if not hundreds of stories that could be adapted/pulled from, and jumping this far into Batman's timeline eliminates a lot of that potential.
that being said, seeing a fully fleshed out Bat-Family would be kickass, especially if that involves The Red Hood (who is someone i have wanted to see be done correctly in live action ever since i watched Under The Red Hood when i was younger). my only concern is that the stories told with these pre-established versions of the characters might feel hollow, or like there's no real stakes to them. like, why should i be invested in whether or not this Batman might die or fail to save the city when i JUST met this version of him, and don't know anything about his specific history/relationships/world.
Omg, SWAMP THING...I'm gonna cry...they literally took the one character I may like more than Batman...maybe and giving him love ✊️
Ok to be fair, he did say, this isn’t the entirety of chapter 1, and granted, he did say the chapter is gods and monsters, there’s more amazing thing to be announced in the near future, be patience and let James cook like he already is
Exactly! He literally said this is just a small portion of what they have planned, and this guy is throwing a tantrum.
James Gunn: "Damian Wayne is my favorite Robin"
Ah, so you're a man of culture as well
I think we should just be happy we are finally getting robin in live action in 25 years
“Why are we talking about The Authority if it’s not coming out in 5 Years?” DC has never really had a plan before, they want to people to see that they have it under control. Marvel announces movies that come out in Seven Years. It’s not that crazy, they want people who don’t know much about these characters to be excited and interested with this information.
I’m excited for the brave and the bold, superman legacy and the authority i bet if you guys watch videos on the authority you will be excited.
Here's the thing I'm just excited to see the bat family on the big screen so I could care less with what Robin they start with...
Ye caboose is really ungrateful.
Ye it sucks that we can't start with dick Grayson robin first
But I'm just super happy that we can finally have robin and batman in love action together in 25 years
I don't get why everyone is downing the fact Damian is gonna be in the first batman movie.
1. Get rid of Ezra miller as flash completely if he’s still sticking around
2. Damien being the first robin is stupid imo
3. I’m confused about how they will bridge away from the past characters peacemaker, suicide squad, aqua man, and Shazam sticking around.
Yea idk why they are doing Damian. I understand that in that universe the other robins will probably exist but let’s wait and see how it goes before we rip into it
Brave and The Bold will be epic!
First Batfamily game, now Batfamily movie
Gotham Knights actually sucked in my opinion it didn’t feel right, the rpg mechanics don’t work well with those kind of games, also they pushed a lot of LGTBQ agenda into the game making Tim drake gay instead of focusing on the story.
Very excited
i know wildstorm comics have been integrated into the mainline dc universe as of late, but i liked them better as its own standalone thing tbh but maybe it's gonna be like a guardians thing and he'll find a way to make their inclusion feel more natural
You don't know The Authority? Man, I feel old. Read the original Warren Ellis series. It was groundbreaking. This is the exact mix I expected from James.
Can't wait to see midnighter!
I like that they starting with Damien I feel like there not enough eyes on da boi
Maybe Dick Grayson is being saved for The Batman universe and thats why Damian is in the DCU Batman just guessing.
DAMIN WAYNE MY BOY
Of course he doesn’t care abt the authorities or creature commando bc he doesn’t know what they are and isn’t willing to give it a new chance but he was probably super hype for eternals or moon knight
😂😂😂 right. He’s not an actual comic book nerd
@@KingKhupacabra bro played injustice and thinks he knows Damian or supergirl
I wonder who will be casted as Talia and Ra's al Ghul.
I'm so excited for this, I can't wait, I'm excited as moping the floor
I think the Authority will be the villains for the first faze of this new DCEU.
I’m just confused, how does aqua man connect with the current timeline???? Is he the actual aqua man or is it before the flash
I'm actually unhappy about Damian Wayne being the first Robin. Should've been Dick Grayson. Grayson never got his theatrical due.
It doesn't say first Robin. They are focusing on Damian being his actual son. Also, he said that they want to bring Batfamily.
He probably will in The Batman
I’m excited to see The Batman 2
I really want to see a Justice League film, because Guardians of The Galaxy 1 is one of my favorite Marvel movies and it still holds up very well 'till this day. If he could balance the serious and funny moments perfectly like that film, his Justice League could become one of the best DCU films ever made.
