RIP Robert Forster, AKA the Vacuum Repair Man. Legendary actor. This was his last role.
Yup, and it was filmed during production of El Camino. The scene was originally written to only show us Jimmy/Saul/Gene, while we only heard Forster's voice over the phone. The team producing El Camino read the scene and contacted producer Peter Gould inquiring whether he would like them to film Forster's side of the conversation. Gould immediately said yes and months before any filming commenced on Season 5 of Better Call Saul this scene was shot by the El Camino crew.
This is the last scene of Ed Galbraith, The Disappearer. Robert Forster's last role was not this, but in his episode of Amazing Stories "Dynoman and the Volt".
What i like about Lalo is that while he is in charge, he does everything so casually. Some people might be fooled by his outer apperance and behavior, but underneath the dude is a straight up killer. More than that though, he could just hang back and do whatever and business would probably be running well enough, but no, he goes out there and gets an impression of the situation for himself. Maybe it's a weird thing to say, but Lalo is a really good "manager".
That is why he is such a deserving antagonist to go up against Gus. Gus is similar in a lot of those ways as on the outside he seems like the very friendly and approachable "Chicken Man" but on the outside he too is a straight up killer.
Werner's an idiot, but he was a good man, Mike knew that. That was why he was mad at Kai talking down to Werner in some weird way to suck up to Mike, especially since Werner saved Kai's ass so many times. "He was worth 50 of you" Mike knows that's true. It was also why he was mad at Gus, since he believed that Werner's life wasn't something that could be "compensated" for. Mike wasn't
mad at Kai just because he was agreeing with his murder.
Yup. Even calling Werner an idiot is harsh. The Normies are acting like "yeah, this is cartel shit, gotta know what you're getting into", but like, that's the whole point. Werner had no fucking clue what he was getting himself into. He wasn't dumb, he was naive. An obviously kind and good guy who really had no idea who he was dealing with. And let's be real, Gus is a fucking monster. And for Mike to have to kill a genuine friend was clearly traumatizing.
Werner is an idiot. Mike allowed Werner to speak to his wife on the phone for a longer time than what was normally allowed, and he still left.
All of Werner's co-workers clearly knew that he was murdered, which means that everyone, including Werner himself, knew they were working for dangerous people.
@@MarkHogan994 Being naive and being stupid are two sides of the same card in my book. Werner was naive to think what he was doing was legit and stupid for not seeing how shady things were given his and crew's living arrangements. Gus and Mike are monsters, but he went right to them and that's on him.
@@dwnkaomwn3953 He never thought what they were doing was legit. He just always figured Mike was his friend. That is everything that clouded his vision. And why Mike blames himself even more for his death. As Mike never once warned Werner in a serious way. Werner barley interacted like Gus probably met him at most twice. Mike never once told him how truly scary Gus can be. Worst warning him gave him was just "Think about how dangerous this job is and what can happen if things go wrong. Never once told him if you try anything your dead and your wife will be in danger as well. So Werner the entire time figured hey even if I do this Mike is my friend. So worse that will happen if he will get very mad.
Mike blames himself for never telling Werner straight up what would happen. And for getting as close to him on a personal level. It made Werner feel like he had someone looking out of for him. Werner was just to nice for this line of work probably imagined Mike would work for such a man or that Mike would ever actually kill him if he screwed up.
And funny thing is, that just for calling him an “idiot”, Mike would punch you in the face just like he did to Kai. Just like he would to these guys watching the episode and basically all of BCS fandom.
Werner was a passionate man, one with health problems that made him become worried of how much time he had left in this world. Since Margarette was his world, he felt compelled to see her.
Naïve is the word you are looking for, not “idiot”. Naïve to trust that criminals and the psychopath leading them would just understand what he was going through. Naïve to not realize he was being a criminal as well by collaborating with them. His good nature made him assume the best of people without understanding the reality. That in that kind of world, once you are “in the game” you are hardly ever treated as a normal human being.
And people idealize Gus to the point of never questioning the actions of the character, smth that would be sort of troubling if they use the same kinda logic for anything irl. Gus is the one that in order to present himself as a reasonable man of business is actually hiding a much more disturbing and violent nature.
If he had shown himself the way he actually is, maybe Werner would’ve felt a lot more compelled to take care of his life.
That guy who noticed him was the taxi driver from the Season 4 opening. He was intimidating him because he knows he's on the run.
GoliathWarfare 😮
Oh shit never noticed
Right. So it gassed me when Suraj said Jimmy hadn't admitted to anything by saying the catchphrase. That's as good as outright acknowledgment. Jimmy should've leaned into his new identity but he let that man bully him into dropping his cover all in fear of coming under close scrutiny from law enforcement. I hate it.
I can imagine that cabbie somehow being a former Albuquerque meth biker associate of Lalo's if things Nacho mentioned to Don Eladio played out a certain way. Looking forward to Season 6!
@@IndomitableAde Welp, we know why he caved now.
This season is by far the scariest season of better call Saul, too many moments when my stomach was in knots 😫
jeremy medina Even when you know Saul is not going to die, you get worried.
The ending of episode 9 tho
InkDoMink bro that whole episode was like an anxiety attack for me
The guy who approaches Gene in the cold open is the cab driver from season 4's cold open
The beginning grey scene connects to Season 4s which connects to Season 3s. The past 3 openings are all connected as if they are one big episode. Starts with the robbery thing and get a lawyer! And then he passes out, which leads to season 4s opening where they take him to hospital, he leaves and then goes into the cab. This guy is the same guy in the cab from season 4. He was already made then. This continues from when he got dropped off at the corner he never went home, he went to his car. Like this up so the normies can see!!
like.. yes I was yelling at the screen..how can they have missed or forgotten this? it was so obvious .
cecille gravelle they’re kinda dense
@ds8390 well, I don't know how to respond to your comment without being rude. so I'll just give you a like 👍😏
@@cecillegravelle2590 it really wasn’t if you had to wait between seasons
@@jeffreyali1456 yes i did, infact.
This season is amazing
Rhea Seahorn KILLS this season. That she got a snub for an Emmy AGAIN is a damn shame.
Just as a clarification. Jimmy and Saul are still two different people.
Peter Gould even mentions that, in the last episode of Breaking Bad where Saul appears and talks with Walter in the basement of the Disappearer they wrote it back then the wayto show that this guy (Saul) underneath all the Razzmatazz still seems to be somewhat of a moral guy. He tells Walter to face the music so that it turns out better for his family instead of running away.
"you'd be the John Dillinger of the Metropolitan Detention Centre"
Saul is the face on the outside. Jimmy is the guy on the inside.
the taxi driver harassing Gene in the mall was the same guy driving the taxi cab from last season. he had an Albuquerque air freshener on his rear view mirror
I can totally see what gene was going through when that guy recognised him being realistic. There are some suuppper toxic fans out there.
He's not throwing pizzas on his roof, at least.
Was he really just a fan though? Something about him gives me the vibes that he's into some shady shit
@@Birrrrra Well, if you are a fan of Saul, then you ARE supposed to be into shady shit 😂
Can't wait for them to reach the second half of this season. It was a goddamned masterpiece. "Wexler v. Goodman", "JMM", "Bagman", "Bad Choice Road" and "Something Unforgivable" are among the best episodes of the entire Breaking Bad universe, if not television in general.
the web-series 'Legal Ethics with Kim Wexler' better win the short-form emmy because Rhea Seehorn was snubbed out of a well deserved nomination again.
I love Kim's frustration at the end like "That worked...of course that worked"
Nahid acts like he was scarface, but just sound like he was a bad kid lmao
Surej: _No one does this._
Are you serious? Imagine you saw any celebrity, who has not been seen in the media for a while, show up regularly at one of the places you frequent, and they were pretending to be someone else. You wanna tell me that the obnoxious fan type that will want them to admit they are who they think they are doesn't exist? Please!
Yeah that was a dumb thing for Suraj to say.
During the cold open, I think you missed the fact that the guy that confronted Jimmy was the same guy who was the cabby that drove him away from the hospital. Remember that cabby kept staring at Jimmy. So this was the 2nd time that the cabby ran into him. If you go back to the place where Jimmy is in the cab, you'll see the cabby's eyes in the rear-view mirror. Same guy.
Lalo owns this season. :)
Yeah I sure wouldn't say Jimmy's playing Kim. Those two just feed one another's worst impulses. They are definitely not good for each other.
Every time Nahid says "back in the day" I wanna die
"What does the color blue mean?"
I really miss Hannah.
KorovaMilkBar she was way too smart for these guys. I’d take her own channel lol
I wish Hannah could react to this season it’s amazing
the reason Mike punched Kai but didn't punch the other guy was because he truly cared about Werner and feels super guilty for having to kill him. so he felt like he deserved the insult from the second guy, which is why he stayed silent after he said it.
The fact that they don't get this is astonishing. I love the Normies, but man, their analysis on BCS is way off sometimes.
Umm we get this?? Where did we not get this. Show me time stamps?
Best season in the show imo. Better than breaking bad in some points
You think it's unbelievable that there are crazy fans for celebrities. Like yeah he isn't a huge celebrity but he is a celebrity in Albuquerque standards lol
You’re in for hell of a ride guys.
Are you the one who knocks?
Riyad Aroudaki You’re Goddamn right.
Gus might be to the cartel what Meyer Lanski was to the mafia; he could never be one of them on account of being Jewish, but they kept him around because he could practically make money in his sleep. Also I think I just butchered Lanski’s name; I can’t spell it.
The cold opens of Saul in Nebraska could be before Walt even died because they both went to the vaccum guy at the same time. So Walt is in New Hampshire when Saul is in Nebraska and Walt was in New Hampshire for like months.
This season is epic. Enjoy!
THIS IS WHAT I WAS WAITING FOR
Can't wait until they get to ep 8 😊
Where y’all watching this? It’s not on Netflix
I'm sure Saul is a pretty big deal in Albuquerque so it's not surprising someone would approach him. Especially if that person knows he is likely sitting on a lot of money and he's a wanted criminal. Perfect situation to try to blackmail him, that is if you are bold enough..
Oh here we go. Time for a ride.
Is that a hitchhiker’s guid to the universe shirt? “42”
Everyone in the Salamanca family aways steals the show and I love that lmao
Whatever happened to Parks and Rec?
What a *fucking* season!
Lalo is too charismatic, that you forgot that he killed that guy. Forreal
This season is so good
Ah yes, the best season
Lalo may be the most dangerous of the Salamancas. He keeps up this cool jovial exterior but deep down he's as dangerous a sociopath as all the rest.
Mike reacted harshly to Kai and just took the insult from the other guy because he's angry at himself for having to killer Werner.
I love how Rana hates Jimmy for being dishonest but is totally cool with murder.
6:47 To be fair, they may have already gotten that speech at the beginning and we just didn’t see it. And despite the speech, Werner just couldn’t help himself lol
You guys are awesome, love watching your reactions an that’s real. much love from the lone star state 👍🏻😎
Thanks for watching fam
Jeff is each and every one of us fans.
HEADS UP. RECENTLY PETER GOULD REVEALED THAT VINCE GILLIGAN IS BACK IN THE WRITER'S ROOM FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE EARLY S3!!!! CAN'T WAIT FOR S6
How is Jimmy ruining his life by getting him less time 😂😂😂
Lalo has the presence of a Torrero
6:00 Suraj's face, perfect timing
9:05 this scene is important for Slippin Kimmy's story.
How is Renna the only one home!?
I’m right here watching you guys react AND ALSO thinking to myself “These guys have no idea what’s about to go down this season😂😂” Can’t wait for you to finish this season. It is sooooo crazy!
The God Of Highschool Reaction🔥🔥🔥🔥
Kim really loves Jimmy. Still. She doesn't like Saul Goodman. But she is trying to inspire him and stick with him (to her own detriment) but it's a real dilemma when you REALLY love someone.
Mike punched him because he still liked vernor or whatever his name was. And he still felt guilty/bad about having to kill him. And he had his reservations about doing the whole thing in the first place. So when the guy called him soft, it must have hit a nerve for mike. Skmce he still cared about vernor in a way. And Mike didn't let that slide.
Im not too sure why he didn't punch the second guy. Maybe the writers wanted to prove that it wasn't about any disrespect of mike or anything like that. But purely out of respect for his friend.
-Whenever Jimmy speaks "Nooo, he's lying and ruining people's lives like that!"
-When Kim does the exact same thing "Oh you go girl!"
Hypocrites
El Camino takes place JUST after Jesse escapes the compound so yeah El Camino is still years before the cold season opens of better call saul
But the Saul left ABQ the same time as Walt. So Saul is in Nebraska when Walt was in New Hampshire. And walt was in new Hampshire for just under a year so the cold open could be before Walt ever went back and killed all the guys and died himself.
I think it was pretty obvious why Mike chose to punch out Kai. One guy disrespected Werner, the other praised him. Mike clearly has no trouble standing up to bigger men, as evidenced by his interaction with Trevor Philips lol
Yess 😎😎
You think someone talking to you at the mall is unbelievable but getting disappeared by a vacuum cleaner salesman is totally normal. 🤦🏻♂️
12:24 Im pretty sure Lalo said it was his boyfriend as a joke
The Writers are still being just about vague enough to keep it from being definitive, but they definitely included that line, and the actor's decidedly non-joking delivery, to reinforce the idea they might have been/probably were lovers.
There are several hints they were lovers.
@@gabrielegr8282 How it seems to me is that the writers have made it so you can interpret it either way
@@briangonigal3974 its meant to be read as they are lovers, they are friends , they are brothers, they were partners
Yup, he said "noviecito" which basically is a playful way to call your novio (boyfriend). Lalo was mocking him, but it probably was a way for the writters to give us hint
You guys were way off base about Jimmy and Kim lol
Please continue watching Death note
Hi I want a favor can you do a reaction to my hero hero’s rising
Please do a skit about better call saul. Suraj already has Lalo's stache & smile tho 😆
I love watching all the biased kim fans react to this season cx
{SPOILER ALERT}
Y'all are gonna be super fucking surprised what's in store for Kim in the later half of this season. Rewatching the show via these reactions I saw that she already had these con-like tendencies and it would only be a matter of time before she Broke Bad
Nahid including Rana into the conversation was pretty cute
Yeah, so what is going on here? Not that I want to know about their private lives but she was missing from the previous episode and seems to be separated from the group in this one. Is it purely because of Covid?
Please never wear headphones this way ever again... I understand why you did it but it looks too weird
3:42...Don't you remember what this guy was in Breaking Bad? He is not a Taxi Driver. The House is falling for Saul.
Jeff was in Breaking Bad?
suraj isnt even watching the show lmao. his takes on shit mean nothing
New naruto shippuden episodes?
These guys literally have zero insight when it comes to Gilligan's masterpieces, trying to paint a guy "good" or "bad" without understanding their situations/motivations/mindset and treating them as complex characters which they are. Too prejudiced and blinded by previous actions or hate that they fail to see what's literally in front of them.
100%
Kim is kind of a hypocrite. 🤔
Jimmy is ruining her :(
Werner was an idiot but he did not deserve to pay for it with his life. I am suprised Mike kept working for Gus after all that. I haven't watched BB but from what I've seen so far I thought he had more integrity. I kind of lost respect for him.
You....you’re watching better call Saul before breaking bad?! That’s going to be such an insane experience. You’ll know the backstory to everything on screen. That’s incredible actually. In breaking bad they don’t even say mikes name for tons of episodes.
Nizzle Prizzle yes when I started watching BCS I didn’t know that it was a prequel series. Since I wrote this comment I have already finished watching BB and was genuinely shocked by how action packed it was compared to BCS. I love both of them deeply :)
Paying with his life was literally the only option. It was that, or trust him to stay quiet, and why would they do that? You know Gus and how careful he is. At the end of the day, Werner was a loose end, period
Kim needs to get away from Saul. Time to move on.
Go My hero academia pls
To the person reading this:
You're amazing stay blessed, stay safe and Healthy during quarantine😇
*Mrbeast* Commented on my recent video am totally shocked!😭
Season 5 is so dope. That said, I think they've already seen episode 6 so I'll just say, based on their reactions to certain scenes in this episode I'm almost 100% sure they're not gonna dig the big Kim moment in episode 6. I think it shocked a lot of fans not just because it's a surprise but also because... it sorta felt outta nowhere to a lot of people. That's the one time during BCS' entire run that I felt like they took a biiiiiit of a shortcut with character development.
Everyone seems to love Lalo, am I the only one who doesn't like him at all? I mean, he's just annoying to me.
Gotta love this. Five AMERICANS, out of all people, complaining about a person ESCAPING a YEAR LONG ISOLATION. Calling him dumb. Even though that ISOLATION also involves dealing with a bunch of criminals, doing a hard job and taking a risk of dying and disappearing forever.
The irony is absolutely staggering.
He knew was he was getting himself into.
I don't get it
... what
Yo patreon is actually so cool. Those UA-cam losers are still in season 4
not everyone has money to spare on youtubers and they are not losers for that
Suraj, is that you?
Prick. I only got enough time to watch these, I aint paying to spend an hour of my life re-watching stuff I already seen. Fuck off back down that sewer you live in
Kuralay V clearly it wasn’t him when he was commenting on the video a month before it became public. Think deeper
Peter Gould and team? Vince Gilligan has directed 2 more episodes then Peter, is in 63 episodes for writing credits, and most of the actors playing in both Breaking bad and Better call saul praise him like no other. How does his name not get a shoutout?
Because even Vince says it's Peter Gould show
It’s no disrespect to Vince, but Peter has been the leading force with this one. He even wrote “Better Call Saul” the BB episode. He essentially created the character.
Peter Gould! Hallowed be his name!
@@fapple6240 I'll take the actors word and the people who actually work on the show over some youtubers you're welcome.
Yo why are you making this a heated dispute? I’m sure the actors have a great amount of respect for both. Gould is a co creator of the show and took the reigns this season, they just gave him a fuckin shoutout quit trippin. It’s not disrespectful to Vince or literally anyone else. Find another way to get yourself off son.
