+markyhabs Hi, sorry for the late response. The date should remain in the correct position as long as you adjust the time using the normal method of rotating the minutes and hours hand via the crown. Some watches make it more difficult than others so I believe the correct answer to your question depends :) Hope that helps and you might enjoy my many other watch reviews/explanation videos on my channel. I have made a specific video on the Patek Philippe World Travel Time Explained that you might enjoy.
Perfectly explained. Thanks for all your great videos and also for sharing your love and your passion for beautifull watches. I love what you do for us. Thank you Erik.
This is such an amazing video. This seems like an exaggerated remark but i honestly believe it is. Everything is so clearly explained acompanied by some beautifull videos. The questions that everyone had when searching for a video like this were perfectly answered which the zero dislikes shows. Well done!!!
Thank you for the compliment, I appreciate it! You might enjoy my several other explanation videos (or watch reviews) on my channel :) Is there any particular video you would like me to work on?
Erik Ternsjö Since i've come across your channel i've watched sereval videos and subscribed, you really seem to know what you're talking about :) As far as videos, you've reviewed nearly every brand that i like except Audemars Piquet, so that would be great! Maybe discussing watch news aswell, but i don't know if that's your style. Regardless of what you will do next, i'm sure i would like it, looking forward to it

Great video as always! There are also the day-date, triple date and the business week indicators. Favourite date complication combination for me would probably be an annual calendar with business week indicator. Haven't seen any watch with that yet!
Very nice simplified explanation, love your voice and your video's, keep up the good Work Erik! Hope to be rich enough one day so that I can buy 1 of the patek philippe watches you reviewed :p
+w8ingforfun Hi, thank you very much for commenting! I greatly appreciate your feedback! Stay tuned for many more videos coming soon, including one in the next 2 days that I hope you'll like :) I too hope to be able to wear a Patek some day (and not just for a review) haha. Have a good day!
Very clear and easy to understand explanation, I got a Citizen perp eco-drive BX-1010 recently, set & its forgettable now to 2100, although with daylight saving I suspect I have to turn that off myself but apart from that if it gets sun here & there will see me out.
+Reza Fadzrian Hi, thanks for your feedback, much appreciated! I covered a form of GMT in my Patek Philippe World Time Explained video which you might enjoy on my channel :) Let me know!
Hi Erik I have a question. Is a perpetual calendar on quartz watches, for example the Frederique Constant Business Timer FC-270EM4P5, possible. Or is this just the annual calendar? Compliments on the video !
For the perpetual calendar watches, how does the watch know what year it is? Like how will it know this year, the following year or the one after is a leap year? Since there is no year indicator on the watch.
+ferw swer thank you, I appreciate your feedback! I'll try to make some more videos soon :) Any particular review or explanation video you would like to see?
hi Erik, I have a question about the function of calendar in automatic watch. If you don't use the watch for 3-4 days the watch will stop. Will the calendar also need to be reset because of this? Does this make annual and perpetual calendars less useful? A good coincidence but the number of likes went from 365 to 366 when I liked this video. Happy new year! !
+msec109 Hi, thanks for commenting! The short answer, yes. If the minutes and hours stop for more than 24 hours, then you'll need to adjust the calendar as the date will have stopped (in this case) one day behind the true date. With more luxury end watches, due to this reason, it is quite popular to have a watch winder. A watch winder will prevent this from happening. Whether or not this makes a watch less useful I guess ultimately depends on what the watch wearer enjoys. Some people love to reset (and wind up) a mechanical watch so for them, it might be cool to have to reset the time for the rare occasions they might wear it (to a fancy dinner for example). My personal thoughts are that mechanical watch movements are much less about usefulness and much more about engineering achievement. (We all know the exact time and date via our phones). You might enjoy my 2nd video review of the Patek 5205 on my channel as I review a watch winder. Also, stay tuned for my next video as I will be discussing the different types of watch movements. Regarding the number of likes, that's a cool coincidence, Happy New Year to you too!
You don’t point out that your perpetual calendar watch won’t require adjustment during your lifetime. The next time an adjustment will be required is the year 2500 (2100 + 400 years?) Right?
Loved the way you explain simple and small. I wasn't aware about annual calender but now feeling like I am the boss But what's the name for simple calendar can we call it manual?
Sorry to write under old video, but please explain the difference between annual calendar and tripple date wathes. Or they are the same, but diff brands called them differenly? Thanks
the problem is that a mechanical watch is never going to be accurate in the long run. so a perpetual calendar is actually useless because the user still needs to adjust the time manually once in a while.
Hi, thanks for commenting! I have 3 watches, all of which I have reviewed on my channel. Swatch: made a review on my channel. Speedmaster Racing: made 2 reviews on my channel. Vintage Omega from 1954: made 2 videos on my channel. That's my collections, let me know what you think :)
A perpetual calendar watch is ridiculous. You're not going to run your watch for 4 years, non-stop. With all those complications, it's going to need more servicing and adjustment. And it will take you an hour to set the watch so that you can save two minutes, once a year compared to an annual calendar.
+Ryan Manak I don't, haha. I wear a Swatch and I have a vintage omega (both of which I have made reviews on my channel). Hope that helps answer your question.
Simple and clear explanation, and beautiful pieces for the visually learners.
Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it! :)

Really nice vids and beautiful watches. Wonder who will have that watch for next 85 years and be able to adjust those perpetual calendar.
I wonder that too :)
Thank you for the compliment, much appreciated!

Some watches has a calender 1-31 on the display and month information how does it work. Like the Orient EUAG.
Very informative.Thank you.
Thanks for the compliment, much appreciated! You might enjoy my other explanation video talking about the World Timer :)
+Erik Ternsjö I intend on watching them all thanks Erik.
great video !
Thanks!
thanks. now i understand the term in less than 4 minutes.

I wonder what type of complications aliens have on their watches in the fourth dimension.
Make a video of your watch collection

Good job!
Do Rolex makes every watches perpetual?
Nice one :)
+Jean-Silviu Dupouy Thanks! :)
Mecanical watch. What if the power is death.. how to adjust its Perpetual calendar?
So do you have to change the date every month on a submariner and a dat just or not?
Not every month but every month that does not contain 31 days.
A perpetual calendar watch is ridiculous. You're not going to run your watch for 4 years, non-stop. With all those complications, it's going to need more servicing and adjustment. And it will take you an hour to set the watch so that you can save two minutes, once a year compared to an annual calendar.
so basically value for money nothing beats the annual calendar unless you are buying SS JLC Master perpetual calendar.
Ah good, so I won't have to set it between 2300 and 2500, what a hassle that would've been! :p
How do you afford your watches
+Ryan Manak I don't, haha.
I wear a Swatch and I have a vintage omega (both of which I have made reviews on my channel). Hope that helps answer your question.
piano at the end?
Yes, just some stock piano music in an attempt to make the video more professional ;)
Erik Ternsjö Sorry i meant what is the name of the piano piece i really like it
Erik Ternsjö dw your videos are very professional and well executed haha
Glad you enjoyed it! I believe it is called Clouds by Huma-Huma. I got it from the copyright free UA-cam music library.
Haha, thank you, much appreciated!
Use quartz with radio sync and solar. Will run forever at the cost of 1% 😂
Twenty One Hundred?
I want that patek philippe perpetual calendar....... I will never be able to buy it...................
