308? Nice job mate , miss the old HRs . Mate had a really nice one , the 186 had a bit of work . They go really well, would keep up with a V8 easy. He was going to put a 350 in but he's one of those guys who builds a nice car then sells it to build another one. Had everything ready , hot 350 , turbo 350, nine inch . Dam I wish he did it. Similar front end to the impala, ball joints are riveted in on impala. Surprised me , put hotchkiss swaybars on and lowered springs. For a big car it handles and rides great. Still making parts and welding it together. Cowling is a real mess.
I can remember the VB Commodore copper pursuit cars first came out as a 186 red motor and the police workshops used to hot up the motor and the suspension. When they came up for auction they were a sought after item…… A bloke I went to uni with had a white one, and the thing was a bullet
@thewholls7176 I had a XT GT , blew up 3 Windsor's. Mate had an ex cop car XE esp he wrote off . Bought it for the 351 Cleveland, the cops did a great job on that 351. The thing was nuts , got me in so much trouble I had to sell it. Bought a 77 318 regal se and never had a problem, wasn't going to keep it but fell in love with it and will never sell it. Built a hot 360 and fun.
