Thank You Lauren!
This beautiful music reminds me of my beautiful wife olga , She was a Great pianist and musician and beloved Person.
She did suddenly on November The 04th 2018.
I know She would Love your music.

Amazing Lauren!
Always amazed by what you can do on the bass!
Great video.
Wonderful, just wonderful!
Fantastic,intonation and dynamics are sublime.
This is a beautifully done arrangement of a beautiful piece. It made me cry
Amazing execution and post-production...
Beautiful tone. Ensemble convincingly put together.
Lovely. I linked it around to the moms in my family for Mother's Day. It was a hit and even got a few years. Thanks for helping an old bachelor in an impossible situation: coming up with a cheap but very fine appreciation gift for all those Holliday dinners.
Many years ago I sang "Maria" as an audition piece. I thought I did it well considering my large size and weight, long hair and busby beard and bass voice (transposing to E or F, IIRC ). It was later explained to me that 40 year old grizzly bears don't sing love songs appropriate to coming of age.
I love this song. So beautiful.
Fantastic.....Can't stop listening to it.
Thank You.

I am feeling really sick and stressed out recently, but that made me really calm down, thanks so much for that.
*Super! excellent sound, great technique!*

Great job - this sounds so good! How do you keep each one of yourselves in sync so well? You must use a metronome or something similar?
Thanks! I actually made a little click track for myself before recording any of the parts. I knew I needed something to keep me together, but a straight metronomic click was too rigid. I wanted some natural fluctuation in the timing for phrasing, so I sang along to the melody line and recorded myself clicking on my metronome :)
Ahh, nice thinking to avoid making it rigid! Did you have it clicking in your ear, or perhaps it was visual?
shut the front door... you did soogreat uhhh shiverss
Fantástico ! 😊
❤️
Frickin sweet
WOW.
Wow
Hi Lauren! I know you posted this a while ago, but I only just found it. Great job! Did you ever publish the arrangement? I roun a bass ensemble and I'd love to have them play this. You cn find me on Talkbass if it's easier.
Very best wishes
Neil Pye
Hi Lauren, I have watched all of your videos and I have noticed that besides your extraordinary playing skills you have very good bass... can you tell me who has made it and when it was made?
Hey Matti, thank you! It's a little Italian bass ca the 1850s, unknown maker. It is a beautiful instrument :)
thx... I am just having "a little" bass fever at the moment so im trying to find the best bass for me
Have you considered an album of lovely old romantic tunes in a similar style as your rendering of Bernstein's "Maria?" I wouldn't presume to make a serious suggestion but Cole Porter favorites might be a place to start.
I think that's a lovely idea, thank you :)
Lauren Pierce You re welcome. Make great music. I'll be listening for it.
I especially liked your bass and the guitar in the loft. Nice, mellow setting. Beats a stuffy recital hall any day.
Awesome, Lauren! I loved it. What software do you use to be able to do this?
Thanks Ray! I use GarageBand for the audio and Final Cut Pro for the video. Final Cut Pro is where I sync both the audio and video together and create the quartered pattern for the video.
Thanks for the response. It's really well done. I'm impressed by both the musicianship and the technical production!
Beautiful! Is this your arrangement, Lauren?
Thanks Jack! Yes, it is my arrangement!
Lauren, it's beautiful. I love the voicings.
Which to play strings??
I had to check if it was 'Maria' that Ray Brown archo'd on the Oscar Peterson trio 'West Side Story" album nope it was 'Somewhere'
Another beautiful song from that musical!
can u upload the sheet??
