...then I had the complete pleasure of seeing you at the QC Clinic in Guildford...Very enjoyable evening...I am completely sold on getting one...Although I am going to wait for a few months until they release more "facilities" for vocal processing, so I can replace my TC Helicon VoiceLive 3 AND my Helix Floor!
Loved this! I think John and Rabea bounce off each other in the same way Pete and Lee do. Great review, both of their sounds were relevant in the mix and to their style of playing. Brilliant.
I think they both are creative and talented chaps, I’d say a stalemate, due to the fact that they both sound great. Thank you, I really enjoyed watching them together
@rabeamassaad reached a new level with your playing and your choice of tones and even the way you approach your sound . So tasteful . Just such joy to see and hear you play . God bless you brother. Keep being a inspiration
This is crazy incredible!😮 Can't believe you two are jamming together. YOU GUYS SHOULD MAKE A BAND!!👍 The little jam off the cuff sounded incredible. But the ambient tones are fantastic Keep up the good work 💯. Do more videos with UA-cam jamming together. Of all the players at Anderson's that have played there you two are the most original sounding. Chapman is right there with you but you two of all the players are my faves! Thanks for this video It was one of the funner ones I've seen in a while😊
That was cool , always enjoy watching Robea and John Jam away . I can Relate alot to Rabea's Playing style and Tone . Rabea did a really good Video demo of the Boss GT 1000 showing its potential for a Stereo set up and that sold it to me , I have had the GT 1000 since its release and im still finding set up and Tone possibilities with it . Thanks Guys
Both great guitarists and have a great ear for crafting good sounds. I like Rabea's musical style better but John does his own style EXCELLENT. I feel like John lets loose in this video and shows his chops since he's not really demo-ing gear but his own sounds.
Great vid, especially loved hearing the super lovely Castedosa. I’m an on / off kind of person though. Those pedals are NASA to me. My brain couldn’t cope.
This was great, would love to see more of these guys digging in to digital gear. No offence to Lee, but it's more enjoyable to watch people who are fully engaged with the gear and understand its place in tone shaping.
For the first time the QC , wirh the tones both of you created sound at least as good as a Boss GT 1000. The QC is finally starting to sound good. Now if they fix all the latency i will be sold lol
When John said he never goes clean, clean, and there's always a bit of something on there, all I can think was: I knew I liked this kid. Even if he's not Lee's son. His lessons on Lick Library are also pretty cool.
awesome video! Does Rabae only use the bottom row scene when not using all scenes to make it easy to footswitch? I notice he's only using the bottom rows
I’m as old school as they come but listening to that opening jam on a good audio system… I’m questioning my opinion of digital guitar tone. Sounds amazing… great playing too.
This is all well and good but I think the real question is did John pick his guitar to compliment his outfit or his outfit to compliment the guitar? Looking slick 😎
Just got my qc this week does any one know if theres a way to keep looper going why you move to different presets so you can loop a clean riff and solo over it with a different effect
Hi John! Could you advise me as a digital master. Do you know any multieffect processors that could switch the channel of your real amp except harley benton dnafx git pro?
Does anyone know if neural still supports or updates Quad Cortex? I'm interested in buying one but from what I've read the support is almost non-existent.
They are still supporting the Quad Cortex, the next thing they're working on which I believe is due to release imminently is the long-awaited desktop editor. I think it's fair to say that the updates and additions arrive few and far between, certainly takes longer than a lot of the community would like. I do think there are some great things in there already and I would never buy something like this based on the promise of what it could be.
I see QC development phase totally opposite. Quad Cortex is still relative new as an platform and they def support and update it. It's true that development has not been the fastest but maybe it's natural for such complex SW platforms like this. In recent years times has been also very challenging to develope totally new platform -> Covid and War of Ukraine (lack of components etc)? So I believe that dev. schedule is not delayed by purpose (like cost reductions in business strategy etc). When looking recent UA-cam reviews I kind of feel that nerds in bedroom are mostly pissed of about the "broken promises" while working musicians like these gentlemen here are really utilizing QC effectively in their daily work and even seems to enjoy it very much 🤭. I have a QC and there are already more features than I ever need so I guess I'm a happy user 😎. Go for it 👍
@@anttikunnas2368 perhaps the perception of slowness in updates is due to the frequency and magnitude with which its direct competitors (fractal and line6) launch theirs, not to mention that the updates of the neural DSP plugins are also more frequent.
I would really like to try they FM9 but it's impossible to get one and its interface looks like it's from the 80's. Quad Cortex seems the best option now and I just want to know if it will be future proof, Helix and kemper are not options for me because they have old hardware and seem to be at the end of their life cycle.
The presets or patches- whatever they're called- on my Headrush MX5 sucked. Until I finally figured out that if you download a 3rd party IR- they sound great. Even the IRs that it comes with make each patch sound 2-3 times better- why they didn't put them on the patches I have no idea but not a single patch has an IR loaded. You have to do it yourself. Probably because when you loa done, now you have to go adjust the output values and the gain on the IR to suit whatever tone you're looking for- they didn't want to go through that much trouble. I think they felt like if they gave you a good set of FX and an amp/cab sim then you could take it from there and add an IR and adjust everything to taste. I have to admit- once you do so, it sounds almost as good as my tube amp- just barely falls short. And what's lost is more than made up for by all the fx and so forth. When I'm using my amp- yes, the distortion sounds great- but it sounds like raw distortion- I don't know how to add all the fx and make it all work together, the perfect gate, adjust the output of pickups to the ideal position, etc. So, it just sounds raw. But- on this unit- all that is done for you- so it sounds super smooth and refined- like you're in a studio. Imo that more than makes up for the fact that the lower end still sounds sort of grainy- best way I know to put it. If they ever figure out how to handle the low end of distortion on these units- they're going to sound as good or better than any amp.
I mean it's mostly the same on any modeler. Just take what you see them doing here and apply to any other system. Should get you very comparable sounds.
There is few basic techniques I can't play, so I must improvise with hammering. So i must find something in this short folk story, that would say - yes, wire it to me Marcus be use new lanki whatever that means.
Is the Cortex expensive? Absolutely. Is it incredibly powerful/versatile and a 'better' investment than having several amps/cabs/pedals? I think so. Musicians today can get so much value out of that one pedal. Sure, it dowsn't have that same nostalgia or subjective 'feel' of analogue pedals/knobs/tweaking different pieces of equipment but when it comes to maximizing the musicianship vs the 'gear head' ratio, the Cortex is miles ahead.
haven't hear a single bit and i can tell you that Rabea without a doubt crushes john in patch making. Rabea has an ear for good tone. knows how to engineer it far better than most ive heard and has even been hired to make presets for devices.
It was great to see Digital Rabea and John Massaad playing together but please could they not have almost identical haircuts next time I could only identify them by their finger movements.
Great fun hanging with John! Enjoyed filming this. Do love me an iconic guitar but this one NEEDED a setup haha. Was a challenge to say the least.
Likewise my friend ❤

how crazy how every month theres a video of "is the quad cortex over?" except for patch day..
@@johnconnearnmusicWill you upload these onto the Cortex Cloud John?
The iconic guitars I’ve played in store have all had awful setups. Like it was setup for slide players lol! They’re beautiful though.
2 players we always wanted to see them jam together. its a treat. thank you so much Andertons.
John and Bea work so well together! More videos with both of them would be awesome. Awesome to watch them jam.
They do seem to bounce off each other well, I'd love to see Lee Wrathe and Bea, that would be something phenomenal 🤘
Loved this! I think John and Rabea bounce off each other in the same way Pete and Lee do. Great review, both of their sounds were relevant in the mix and to their style of playing. Brilliant.
More like Pete ans Mick on the old days
Probably the best playing intro to any video ever. This two together are dangerous!!!!!
Imagine being able to keep up with Rabea!! Monsters both 💪
That opening jam was amazing! Just got home from work and saw this video, clicked on it and instantly relaxed. Nice work dudes!
Best video I’ve seen on Anderton’s these two guys John and Rabea have taken it to another level. Great job.
Great to see Rabea back!
I think they both are creative and talented chaps, I’d say a stalemate, due to the fact that they both sound great. Thank you, I really enjoyed watching them together
Wow, so cool to have these two together!
Last jam... Jaws dropping everywhere! Congrats!
I could watch/listen to these two guys go trough presets and jam all day long! 🤩🔥
@rabeamassaad reached a new level with your playing and your choice of tones and even the way you approach your sound . So tasteful . Just such joy to see and hear you play . God bless you brother. Keep being a inspiration

Incredible to see both monsters
The Duo, Ive been wishing so long to see together
Great vid, especially loved hearing the super lovely Castedosa.
I’m an on / off kind of person though. Those pedals are NASA to me. My brain couldn’t cope.
Man, that jam out was very nice.
Dij-it-all John is an immense player. Bea is a an absolute monster... please, please... I could listen to these guys for days...
For someone like me slowly losing the will to play guitar anymore this video is/was inspirational, thank you! 🤘
Insane intro jam 🔥
Nice playing, guys!
Good vid and rapport between these two ✌️
Sneaky bit of Rose of Sharyn from Rabea at 10:41 😏 It's my go-to chug test as well
So much tallent it's scary , more please ❤
This was great, would love to see more of these guys digging in to digital gear. No offence to Lee, but it's more enjoyable to watch people who are fully engaged with the gear and understand its place in tone shaping.
Whoa! John's "Bullet" setting sounds JUST like "The Poison" and "Scream Aim Fire" albums. Nice! 👌
Iconic guitars are so epic, it’s just crazy.
It is amazing how the quality of digital pedals has progressed. We all win.
Enjoyed , two very talented guitarists 👍I'm jealous but in a good way. I am miles & miles off these guys.
While the patches from both are lovely, the moment they play together you notice Rabea's patches are far better engineered to fit into the mix
rabea is just louder lol
@@aiyka_music he *sounds* louder..
Castedosa's are baritone guitars as well. Maybe that has something to do with it.
They’re made to be wider. He covers more stereo with delay, reverb and chorus. They’re eq’d to fit the space.
Awesome, thanks!
Very cool episode.
Love the playing, and love how John's not bothered changing after coming back from his part-time job as Rick Astley's stunt double.
Hey if you had the privilege of being his stunt double, you wouldn’t give it up either!
Love this jam so much! Tones are epic, playing is great and guitars are both sick! 👍👍
The tones Rabea pulled out make me want to buy a strat immediately.
Could totally get lit and just drift listening to this for hours.
No idea of witch box is used on the vishnu? Sounds great!
For the first time the QC , wirh the tones both of you created sound at least as good as a Boss GT 1000. The QC is finally starting to sound good. Now if they fix all the latency i will be sold lol
Dude, i'm jamming to drop C on Anderton's. This is awesome.
Are these presets available on the Cortex Cloud?
Are Digital John's patches available to download?
I too like to live between "Chilled" and "More Hair"
Please do more of these two! And a fractal fm9 by them please 🙏🙏
Yep, I clicked like, even before watching the video because I know this is going to be EPIC!!!! Yow!!
That Icicles preset sounded like a Microcosm!
These sound great what are you guys listening to them through in the room ?
When John said he never goes clean, clean, and there's always a bit of something on there, all I can think was: I knew I liked this kid. Even if he's not Lee's son. His lessons on Lick Library are also pretty cool.
Watching this I feel like I hear tainted love playing in the background. Lol just playing. Rebea is one of my favorites on you tube
Love John and he sounded great but Rabea has one of the best ears for tone I have ever heard
Hey John, do you know you have your coat on indoors? Not planning on staying? Or is the AC too high?
what if you accidently drop something on the pedal screen and it breaks? are you just screwed?
awesome video! Does Rabae only use the bottom row scene when not using all scenes to make it easy to footswitch? I notice he's only using the bottom rows
that outro jam 😍
I’m as old school as they come but listening to that opening jam on a good audio system… I’m questioning my opinion of digital guitar tone. Sounds amazing… great playing too.
No mere mortal can beat Rabea in anything guitar related.
I just want a Quad Cortex! But at least I have a boatload of the Neural plugins and love them…🤷♂️
Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez that opening jam.
NGL, at first I thought there was Castlevania written on John's guitar's headstock lmao
What are you guys running the QC’s into? Is it direct or what cabs or monitors?
Both good together. But Rabea is the man.
Great playing, but I would be able to play just as well as John if I had that jacket.
This is all well and good but I think the real question is did John pick his guitar to compliment his outfit or his outfit to compliment the guitar? Looking slick 😎
These two, like a couple streams running together...
Just got my qc this week does any one know if theres a way to keep looper going why you move to different presets so you can loop a clean riff and solo over it with a different effect

Line 6 HX Effects can be programmed to switch channels on your amp.

why they are using the "finger" to change the presets etc...use the foot
Why have you all gone for QC over the others?

Totally subjective but Rabea wins. Probably because he has his own sound. If you hear two seconds you instantly know it is him playing.
Fm3 or quad
some one tell MJ he forgot his gloves 😉, Digital John going Thriller
Very tasty!
The price of those guitars. Ouch!
Bea wins ennit
you held your own mate! nobody lost, lets put it that way 🙂
nah
There is some serious guitar porn going on here with the Iconic and Castedosa. Great playing as well
