I lived here in the Phil since 1995, dollar then was 26 pesos, now 55 to 58 pesos. I don't felt the inflation because I am a dollar pensioner. I had seen expat vlogger which are happy here inviting more expat from US, UK, Germany, Canada me. We have plenty married pilipino to foreign origin and happy to stay in the Phil....hungry Syrian, kulas, cdr daot, polish, Ukraine, Russian, Korean, japanese student were happy here. Many refugees from afganistan, Ukraine, rohinga, Lebanon, Syria are welcome. 😅😅😊😊

Nevermind, we prefer to mingle with happy people rather than unhappy ones. For as long as we are happy, nothing
    nothing matters much.

Agree! Philippines doesn't need foreigners who are manipulative, exploitative, arrogant, abusive, and feeling superior. If they're respectful and abide by our laws and regulations, fine; they can stay temporarily or if they prefer, be naturalized Filipinos but without ulterior motive to trample the rights of the Filipinos by birth and blood.

Many developed countries such as Italy, France, Hongkong, South Korea, Germany, Switzerland, Spain etc. where the living standard are more expensive than the Phils. rely on the huge volume of rich tourist visitors every year to earn a substantial income in revenues even if their tourists come & go and not count on expats or retirees who want to stay longer in their countries. Phils has many beautiful potential tourist spots to cater to tourists or for foreigners & not only focus on retirees or expats.

This trend is favorable to the country. We need quality foreigners like they will come to create and make business and create employment. We need to avoid over tourism because they only messed up the Philippines resources. Don't worry over a million refugees will settle in the Philippines. They will bring their talents and skills and integrate them to our society. Long term impact will be great 👍🙏🙏🙏💯♥️🇵🇭

Interesting comment, but if you want quality foreigners, shouldn’t foreigners expect the same? You want foreigners that come and open businesses but the government is corrupt, and the very poor mindset of Filipinos that look to get as much from the foreigners because they know most of them would not last, if you have poor government and uneducated people that just look to scam foreigners, then your statement is hypocritical

Yes the properties are very expensive now especially in Cebu area. I have been looking for Condos but not affordable. The houses are more expensive than in my State in America. We might end up constructing a new house in my property that I shared from my parents in the Province.

They will return Dave, believe me 😅. Besides, Christmas is just around the corner and our airports will be jam-packed full of returning OFWs'. That will continue upto the mid year of next year. If they think the cost of living here is far worse then they are in for a surprise once they leave the country. It ain't pretty out there dude. Lots of homeless and soup kitchens. Plane fares and accomodations are up and even the happiest place on earth Disneyland, ain't too happy anymore 😂. They probably left because they know once the Christmas season starts in the Philippines, prices of goods will go up like an out of control elevator 😂. As far as I can remember, It has always been like that.

True in matters or about being an entrepreneur as majorly moving mostly in Cambodia, Miramar wherein there's a little wanton apoliticism approach.
In regards to retirement reasons, maybe on the honeymoon stage yes but, once dissatisfied they just giddiyap outta here or jump ship.

The high cost of rice, noodles and chicken have nothing to do with tourists..
You are probably finding the high costs are related to YOU not earning enough..
But your worries are over now..'
The government has said that inflation is dropping fast and at present is around 2%.
If you believe THEIR figures then happy days are back for you and your family.. LMAO..

Over tourism is not good as it could affect the prices of houses and foods. It happened in Barcelona Spain where the locals drove the tourists out of their Country.

If you have an iq of above 82, you would know that his title is clickbait.
Also, he did not provide any reference on the actual number. So 5000 a day must be fine, since it’s possible to have 5000 going out and 5000 coming in. Also, there’s a lot of factors, including stupid people being very salty for stupid reasons.
“We’re fine if you leave”, sadly, no. If investors leave, it’s not okay. Stupid shit.
