Be honest…. Would you want to own this car or do you hate how it looks??
Dont forget to like the video & subscribe!
i would definatly own that , from the last video i noticed it and though it was a Bradley GTII when i first saw it in the back ground . The Bradley GT and GTII are also VW kit car's
I think it would be the perfect candidate for a budget EV conversion.
It's only a matter of time before we start seeing classic and vintage cars with electrified drivetrains.
As this is a kit car, it would suit it.
I'm 6'3, 300 lbs. honestly, I don't think /i would be a good fit for this car.
🚮
i would love to have this, it would stand out well against the sea of crossovers we have today.
There’s one of these rotting away outside an old barn a few miles from me. I’ve been seeing it for the past 11 years, and now I know what it is thanks to y’all! Fantastic job, btw!
Save it. It's stupidly rare, and you can flex on lambos
If you don't want it ill go make an offer.
Save it
Am I the only one who would love to see a restomod done to one of these? New engine, updated suspension, redo the entire interior with carbon fiber or leather and a new headlight cluster? Keep the rims though, I love the look of those.
That would be cool to see, I was thinking of a V8 in it. Fast and Cool.
I concur. We had these in South Africa years ago and they were known as “Eagle”
I definitely would
They're not the same as on the DeLorean, are they?
Imma get right on that
Another tremendous job, guys. One hint to keep in mind - that rusty turn signal lever could be spruced up with some 0000 steel wool and WD40. Removes rust without scratching. Works well on other chrome too.
Noted! We will try that out!
It’s my car gonna make it new again check my channel many build at the same time lok
You can polish an old windshield with 0000 steel wool as well. Greta for older cars with aged windshields.
Guys i can about 99% tell you those are cat tracks,The cats are hunting the rats,The only bad thing about keeping a car in a barn is mold and Rats!! And i hope the rats didn't chew into any of the wiring.
Hi, I built one of these back in 84, the UK version was called the Nova, I had many happy days driving mine. Great job on the detailing.
Here in Brazil this type of conversion was common with Volkswagen cars, very cool to see that there are more around the world. Congratulations for the amazing work!
There very cool it’s my car
@@jesussavescars807 Incredible vehicle Congratulations, if you are interested, search for Brazilian brands later. The most famous in Brazil was the "Puma".
@@bryansantos6796 definitely did last night sick tube in man I’ll be dropping gems
the kit was available in australia too, called the purvis eureka.
Wassnt there even a VW powered motor cycle in brazil? the Amazonas.
Imagine driving one of these all them years ago!! How cool would you have been!! What an awesome detail!
Right?! All eyes on you!
These Sterling Novas are just so darn cute, beautiful, & adorable!! I love them!!
Its amazing how well this car turned out, and how well it actually stayed preserved in such shape.
Not surprising about the body being in such good shape since it's made out of fiberglass.
@@deanosborn3464 Only the chassis would have to be concerned about rust.
This is a 37 year old car, but yet feels so futuristic for the time!
Incredibly so! Such a wild concept
44 year old*
i think its inspired by the Holden Hurricane from 1969
One of the neighbors down the street was building one of these when I was 5 or 6 I still remember the front end and the pop up body. I never knew what it was called or if I did I forgot it. That is truly amazing. Yes I would LOVE to own one of those!
Surely, it would need new tyres and a paint job anyway? Great job cleaning and detailing it. I love the 70's wedge design just beginning to transform into the early 80's style of cars, very retro futuristic.
Always loved the Sterling Kit car. it was built on VW bug chassis, love the styling and top operation, don't think I would be able to fit in it, I am 6'8", my long legs might pose a problem, but if I could fit, I would love to drive it around
As a car detailer my self, I really dig this video 🙂 Nice save. That car is just born to been seen and brought back to life. Even if it looks to be made from plasic.....for some reason.
It has a fiberglass body. It is a really cool kit car.
Guys, can you please, please, please, show how how you clean seat belts, I clean my own car, but I always struggle cleaning the belts!
Love watching your vid's by the way.
Keep up the great work, very enjoyable watching, 😉
Man you guys are lucky in the states, so many good finds! Id kill to have something so unique and cool, great finds out of the same barn!!
For a kit car, this is one of the sharpest I've ever seen!
Love the design! Very unique today up against all the "box" looking cars. I'd slam it and put a set of 18" rims on it. And paint it in some modern color or a nice silver... Anyway would be a fun car too say the least especially at a cars n coffee! Good job!
I'd put some aero on it and swap that motor for a Subaru boxter motor.
@Jonathan Wilson naw, the aero would plant it firmly. MCM showed that a boxter engine will fit in a VW, more power.
I'd take a Sterling in a heartbeat. The whole supercar look just does it for me.
I would buy this in a HEARTBEAT! What a great and fun summer car
I'd love to drive this. I had a 69 Ford Torino, I love projects and this seems like it would be fun and very customizable. Not a big fan of it having a old VW engine, but if something else could be put in, definitely.
Like the engine and transmission from a Porsche 911?
Excelente trabalho! Ficou mais lindo do que já era...
With regard to the green wheels, obviously it was a VERY damp barn. BTW - Love the video's keep up the great work.
I would absolutely own this, and definitely drive it around. It would be my weekend car, most likely. I mean, if i was able to restore it all nice and keep it that way I would definitely want to, and I know parts wouldn't be cheap, so it would sit in the garage being polished most days. But I would wear it proudly and I would d4mn well enjoy it 😎
I'd definitely drive it around.......it's like a James Bond space car....
I didn't think i would see one of these cars again brings back memories when I had a passion to buy one back in the 80s but unfortunately missed out big regret.
I remember seeing the Sterling in a bunch of car mags back in the day and as a teenager, I fell in love with it's weird and wonderful design. I would own one in a heartbeat if given the chance.
It turned out to be a great job. Love the car now. It is so cool. God bless.
Beautiful body kit. 👌 I would definitely update everything. I would drive it. 👌
Was known as the Purvis Eureka in Australia and over the years was updated regularly compared to the original design.
Learned something new.
If the carpet comes apart, it’s best to get new ones because it’ll only come all apart, that was very interesting
Heck yes....such a great use of the vw platform....and a very cool design/shape/balance..
Super impractical but also super unique so I’d own it for both of those reasons
I know I am a weirdo, but I just LOVE this car! There is something so cool about VW Bug kit cars like this and the Bradley GT.
I want a 70s van with the bubble windows in the back all restored. That's my dream vehicle.👍 excellent detailing job 👍
I might remember this car roaming the streets in the 80s! My grandmother lived in Cuyahoga Falls, and we were up in that area at least one weekend a month. I remember seeing an orange/red sports car up there and my brother explaining what a kit car was. It probably wasn’t this exact car, but… it could be!
What I find so amazing about this video is the shape those tires were in. If those tires were on that car since 1985, I would think they would have been dry rotted in even worse shape than that carpet was in. Amazing!!
Let's be honest when you recommission a car this old standing for so long there's only so much cleaning can do, those carpets were way past saving...you guys did a another fantastic job considering the age of everything.
Yes, although cleaning is very important to safely restoring a vehicle.
I'd love to have that car looks amazing
If I had a car like this I would drive it daily I love it’s retro wave look to it.
Ditto
NGL, I wish I had this man's confidence to wash my car wearing cream trousers!
Great video, I liked this. Haven't seen that Nova kit in years!
Hell yes id drive it and i might even take it to a car show or two just for the pure beauty of it
This Sterling was very popular in the late 60s through the 80s. It competed with the Kelmark GT and other Ferrari Dino 246 knock offs. I built a Kelmark GT in 1979 and it turned heads everywhere. The "paint" is actually a colored gelcoat (polyester resin) which is laid over the fiberglass body. Gelcoats never held their polish for very long and were prone to cracking and ghosting. I'm surprised that this Sebring was in such great shape. I'd own it for sure.
Absolutely beautiful car would love to own one! This particular car needs a lot of interior replacements, and red color would suit it best, but I bet it is one great fun car to drive!
I wish I could’ve driven it, but I can barely close the hatch without hitting my head haha
I’m 70 yrs old, I’ve only seen one in my life span. I would love to drive it around here. I would change the four lug wheels to five lugs, along with a few other mods to the engine also, other than that, give it a really good steaming over & the under carriage , wax it , go for a drive
These always reminded me of the durango in a clockwork orange. This type of open canopy rather than doors isn't safe if you crash and land upside down but it's still a very cool looking thing.
Pop open side windows in case it lands on the roof?
Anybody who drives a car like this will make people smile, it will evoke conversation and create a memory.
Completely agree! I’m tempted to buy one now haha
I remember way back that Hot Wheeles made a version of this car, but I never thought that it was a REAL vehicle 😳, you guys did a great job bringing it back. question though, does it run? or did you need to do a engine rebuild?
Absolutamente fantástico el video. Me gustaría escuchar el sonido del motor algún día. Gracias
Omg I love this car. I would drive it….hell ya….All day long. I know she felt good with all you guys cleaning her up. Returning her to her beautiful natural glory 🥁🎷🎺🏎
As a former owner of two classic sports cars ( a 1979 Datsun 280ZX and a 1991 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo) this is a find that I would have loved to collect !!! It obviously needs a lot of TLC, but what a dynamic example of styling ! Nice Find !!!
Excellent detail, great work! I had a good laugh at the kit car's underpinnings though. It looks like it can hit speeds in excess of 200MPH but the maximum on that old Beetle chassis is probably 60MPH. 😂
Hahaha exactly 😂
well, the stock engine probably wouldn't exactly plant you in the seat either, but if its a flat-4, maybe a subaru swap would breathe some life into it?
Full resto mod. Would be amazing. Turbo Subaru motor, updated wheels and suspension. Led headlights. Could be pretty amazing!!
I LOVE THIS CAR IT'S PRETTY COOL!
Totally would drive that around. She's a classic that needs to be on the Road and to enjoy life once again. So yeah! I would totally drive her around.
Great job on the sterling my guys ❤️❤️
Definitely, I would like to own and drive this car. I have owned some unique vehicles, just enjoy driving them.
That is a lot of work but the results were great. Love your videos. Keep them going.
I love the design of these kits. I would so drive one of these.
Amazing job! Scary carpets for sure. Did you all end up hearing the car start or seeing it drive? Love this channel. On a sunny, nice day I would drive this bad boy!
We wish! It needs a lot of mechanical work still. We just get to help start the process of the restoration !
I’d be all over driving this car around. This is a total “Space Car”!
I wonder if you could do a subaru or porsche conversion on this 🤔 great job as always 👍🏾
At some point Subaru was playing a part in the design process of and chassis and engine for these but scrapped the project. But someone did LS swap one of these 😂
@@WDDetailing LS sounds better to me 😂 must of been a tight squeeze i guess 😄
I'd love that car. Such unique styling and a Such a head turner. And I always liked the fighter jet entryway
When it comes to the tires, its likely just a particular breed of mold, probably settled on the tire after it had dried out enough to become porous. The paw prints probably are cat paws, but it had to have stepped in something to etch the paint like that, probably urine.
One word: WOW!!!!!! =O
Love watching the videos. Do you guys ever detail the engine bay?
You guys need to start having Slavko in more videos.
Being a VW fan I love this car! I would drive the heck out of this car after an engine transplant.
Replace the VW Beetle engine and transmission with a Porsche 911 engine and transmission?
Loved the little final fantasy fact notifications you put in 😂. This is probably the coolest car I've never heard of. Swear if I ever hit a lottery I'm getting one.
I would definitely drive something like this it would give a chance to talk about kitcar history cool piece for sure 👍
The transformation was incredible!
Yes! In a heartbeat I would drive this car. I like obscure foreign cars.
Excelente video y saludos desde Lima Perú
WOW! That thing cleaned up really nice. I'd drive it in a heartbeat! Not crazy about the front end head lights, but other than that... I dig it!
wooooo, amazing work, dudes!! always is satisfactory to see an old forgoten car to see the light again in it old and pure glory, SUPER GOOD VIDEO, first video of yours that i see, i suscribe now, congrats 😃
It has a very nice look I like it
I would love to own a sterling have wanted one for a long time it looks awesomely funky and fun 🤩
What a cool car love seeing it having a good wash looks great
I had one of these back in the 80's, But mine was modified with a V8. Wish I still had it. Wish I could find another one at a reasonable price.
As an owner of a few cool kit cars such as Factory Five Racing 1965 Cobra 427 SC MKIV and a Factory Five Racing GTM Supercar. I would definitely add this to the collection
My neighbors had one. Such a cool car to ride in as a teenager
Best and beautiful and awesome ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful car.Remember these when I was a kid.Yeah,I fantasized!!!
Just found this video, Those were cool cars back in the day,Clean it up and enjoy it,thumbs up
Fun fact we have the original fiberglass molds for this car in our fiberglass shop in Hanover pa
That's where they ended up, last I heard a gentleman named Warren had possession somewhere in Lebanon county.
@@rskalisky we do not own them we are just the shop that repaired the molds and will be producing them if they decide to go that route we have only pop one from the mold at this point… we make dune buggy bodies as well witch is how the owners found us
Super awesome clean bro ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love my day ❤️💓💓
I so wanted one of these when I was a kid in the late 70s early 80s. There was one that trundled around Kingstown-upon-Hull at that time… I was so jealous.
It also helped that it was in Deathreace 2000!!
THE WHEELS ARE SO FREAKING DOPE 🔥🔥🔥
Kinda reminds me of the lamborghini race cars of the early 80's nice kit car find the thing nice about these kit cars is you can retro fit them with a nice updated suspension for a softer ride cause i heard they where kinda rough riding in them big time!
I would have it and drive it awesome job lv it
This is a UK Nova Kit Car - Designed by Richard Oakes in 1971 and launched in 1972. My mates son had one back in around 1975. It had huge aluminium super slot wheels and the ubiquitous 1600 VW beetle engines and floor pan.
Here in the UK we have a thriving Kit Car industry. The Nova's over here usually hav perspex covers over the headlights, also some had an optional extra of an electric hood opener, very cool looking pulling up and the cabin lid opens like a space ship door!! Other engines have also been used instead of the VW. What you call detailing We call Valleting . Off to find your next video now!
Grew up around San Lorenzo, ca and would love to drive a piece of local history
If it were mine - I'd recondition it to a glimmering jewel and take it to car shows. Kit cars are cool and most of them are rare today.
This is absolutely stunning. I would definitely jump on the chance to own AND drive! Wheels probably green from moss in a humid, stagnant air environment
"We did not vacuum the mouse up, we disposed of it off-camera" shows them vacuuming the mouse up lol
Such an iconic looker - would make a great electric conversion!
Incredible job 😍
Yes, I would definitely drive it. Beautiful car.
This is one of my dream cars I first seen this car at 16 Im 40 still havent came across one that I could afford. I think they are beautiful cars.
