Welcome back. So I ruined my hair with ion bright white snow cap toner. I had to do a Bleach Wash and tried to mattify the bright warm yellow tones. So disappointed that the toner turned out that way.

Hi girlie thanks for sharing I always need to tone my hair also. Thanks for sharing ur products. I’m used to my hair dry after a wash also. Hi! I'm a professional colorist and I think the reason you didn't get the results you wanted initially is because hair colors are designed to work on natural tones. Because you were already a 10/11, you had no warmth left to counteract against the violet/gray/ash tones. For next time, if you get yourself to a 9. Not yellow but just above yellow, you'll have some warmth left to mesh nicely with the ash. And use a 20-30 volume peroxide to lift you to the desired 10-11 you're after. Oh and instead of bleach bathing you can use Malibu C CPR and it isn't as harsh.

@@Flakydiva of course! You look beautiful no matter what color hair you wear! In case you didn't know. I did my own hair for years before I went to school so I know how valuable your content is. Not very many people are brave enough to post videos when they don't get perfect results. Also being that cooler toned platinum hair is difficult to perfect yet is trending so much! Plus the times we're in these days, not everyone can afford professional upkeep on platinum. So I think you could go far with this niche. Keep it up!
Awe thank you. Omg tell me about it. I have done so many mistakes. Usually because I want to try new things and my hair when is recently bleached won't be porous on the roots for some reason and doesn't drink any product. The whole reason I started my youtube was to share my experience because there is little info and everyone only wants to show the good videos and not the raw results.

Yes. The yellow band and the porosity of her ends didn't help either. It grapped the base color too harshly.

It looks pretty. You should've used purple for yellow. Your hair didn't have any orange to need the blue. Always keep some of both toners at home depending how your bleach job comes out.
You are completly right. I was hoping for purple base since it was white but it had blue. The boxes aren't labeled well on the base pigment used. That sounds like a great idea. 💜

At the store the hair sample shows a grey ash color so it is suppose to turn it a tint grey. It did what it was made for
It wasn't a tint grey it was a green ash. The store and websites doesn't provide the undertones. This one is blue which is meant to neutralize orange. I needed purple for yellow. If your hair is yellow and you use blue base it becomes green. That is why is so important that they are clear on the base. At the store it shows pretty much white for snow cap not grey. You can always try it, depending on your level you might have better results. Thanks for watching.

Hey Rachel!! I use that celebrity product for my red and I love it.. I just don’t like it’s a little drying.. so are you trying to get to silver? It would look very pretty. I’m clueless when it comes to hair lol I’m always asking my hairdresser what to do or use lol I used to dye my own hair when I was in high school and just do crazy things to it but never did blonde lol so is this toning it? When you have it in sections? Oh no... I’m sorry.. color mixing is such a scientific thing I feel like lol that’s why I’m scared of bleaching on my own lol I would end up bald lol. What’s your natural hair color is if you don’t mind me asking. It’s definitely cooler and purpley. But it looks good. You can’t see the yellow a lot at least not on top. I'm trying to get very white but is a long process and I was avoiding to do a whole bleach. Unfortunately it didn't work because it had blue base and that makes green on yellow hair. I needed purple so it could be neutralized. Oh it's so much work and hard with new products but I haven't had the best experience looming for hairdressers. Mine is like caoba, dark/light brown. The sun makes my hair lighter with time.

Did you use aphoghee two step afterwards to replace the missing protein you took out when you lightened your hair? I do that after bleaching, wait two days, and then either apply toner or color or both in my case for the ombré I like to wear.
I tried the one by ion and usually try to do bonding treatments or olaplex. Is there any others you recommend? Thanks for the suggestion ❤

You need to lighten first to desired level, then use the right toner for desired results. If you are more yellow after lightening, you’ll want a purple vase toner. More orange, you want a blue base.

The same thing happened to my hair. I had almost platinum hair and I wanted to go white/silver and I got about the same color you got. I'm so disappointed and idk how to go back to my blonde😔
I'm sorry. It's the blue base. It should honestly be purple to counteract the last yellow hues. I would recommend a bleach wash to remove or hot water wash with clarifying shampoo a few times. Don't full bleach again it's too much damage.
My hair absorbed too much of the Grey tones. The under layers that you can't see unless I flip my head upside down, I'd a lovely really pale blonde. But the rest that had it in for the full recommended 15 ..silver/grayish white. Once my yellow comes back it'll make it look better I think. Then I'll try again later with a different toner. Or at least leave the snow cap on for 5 minutes, and maybe a 20 developer this time? But apply on damp hair coz I have too much hair to get it on quickly enough lol. And I don't want it absorbing a ton of color anyway, so the water would probably help me lol

I feel bad when I see these uneven mishaps because they need TLC to repair them. They need spot attention not all over applications. I have fixed many of these for clients. You can’t apply the same formula to each section of hair when you have processing disparity. It has to be a multistep treatment which is extremely hard to do by yourself and reach all the areas and manage their chemical reactions.
I understand. I was hoping for a little more gardient but unfortunately I haven't found capable and good Platinum hair stylists close by. Everytime they damage me more, no big difference and charge an eye and a leg. I'm a lot better now though ☺

My hair could never survive any bleach. I tried highlights years ago and those jokers turned into a frizzy mess and then broke off.

Wow 😯, It seemed like it took a very long time just to separate your hair into sections, I don’t know why that was happening. I’m a little confused. Also you should never start on your roots first, it will develop a lot faster than the rest your hair because of the heat from your scalp. You should always start in the middle of the shaft then go to the ends do all that first and then go through and do all your roots no matter what color blonde your hair is. Just a tip. And your hair looks like it needs a really good (DEEP) conditioning pack and definitely I would cut about 2 inches off because it looks pretty dry and brittle. Not trying to be mean at all just trying to help you with some tips! Good luck. 😊

If all else fails you should ask the Sally's workers about the bases. Also, you should have done the bleach bath on your hair first since it was not very even to start with. I'm not a professional either, but I've spent hours upon hours watching videos, and I have family who are hair professionals that give me advice. I may be wrong too though...I'm about to experiment on my hair. Wish me luck..lol
Hey, thanks girl. I did but they had no idea. I was trying to use a different product with 20 volume to lift and deposit. To avoid further damage with more bleach but I failed that time. Also it was uneven because the yellow was the newest growth. The rest of my hair was already platinum. Check one of my latest ones. I finally got the platinum that I used to have. Best of luck!!! 🤗🤍

It had a purple tone to it so she walks over to her station and pulls a can of tomato sauce out from underneath and she opens it up and runs it all through my hair and I said.. wth are you doing!? She said.. wait 5 minutes and you'll see! After 5 minutes past she rinsed my hair out and Omg! Purple was gone and my hair was white as snow!! The acid in the tomato sauce pulled the purple tone out completely! 🤣 💀

Just get a good toner or maybe someone that can help you. White doesn't have to be the goal, a little silver helps wonders. More bleaching is going to deteriorate your hair. I was trying to avoid that and ended up making it worse.

The problem wasn't the toner, it's how your hair processed. Too much yellow on newer growth and old growth is over processed, which soaks up the toner color. Repair your hair on the ends, and bleach it lighter. You have to be a level 10, you weren't quite there.
It was because of thr colors your hair was before you started. Very uneven brassy and gray tones.
Yes, and also it was blue base. I needed a purple base toner. The box didn't clarify either.

your pulling purple bc of how porous aka damaged your hair is. You need to just bleach the whole head one good time and then just focus toner on roots for bare minimum time and then pull thru to ends for like four min.

Learn basic color theory, ladies. If you're going to do your hair at home, learn what colors cancel each other out, and what amplify them. And before you buy color or toner, ask what base color it is. You can't use certain colors with certain types of hair.

Lmao 🤣 it's addictive to see these fail videos. Unfortunately, everytime I went to a professional I ended up worse (ripped hair) and never the desired shade. Down here in South Florida I struggled to find who can do Platinum with latina dark hair.

OMG all I keep running is please just cut off this mess. The hair is ruined. A pixie cut is on order. Been there done that.
All of the money/time wasted on these products could have been spent in a salon.
So sad.
Unfortunately, every time I have gone to the salon, (different ones) I end up with more damage. Mind you this was after they sweared they were experts in Platinum. Spend over 600 in just root touch up to end up with wrong tone and barely any long hair standing. I kept learning and didn't need to cut. Thanks for watching.
You should do your research before trying to change your hair color/toner. You had 2 different colors to start with...big mistake!

You NEVER start any haircolor, toner, bleaching, in the front. The crown down the back, of your hair, to the nape of your hair, then do the sides, then top, then front. The front is the most fragile. The back & crown take the longest to bleach. No wonder you screwed your hair up. Geez.
Haha thanks for the advise. No worries I didn't ruin it. So far is how I want it now. That also happened because it was a new product that had blue base instead of purple like I was advised. Also I already had some banding because I was avoiding overlap and sadly some "professionals" did ruin my hair before so I don't really trust just anyone just for swearing they can do the job.
