1000 EGP= 32$ …. You’ve travelled half way across the world to finally reach the VOK and hang out with Gus (who is awesome) ….I bought the extra tickets and went in as many as possible including this one … worth every penny
Good perspective! For folks with the money and who aren’t “tombed out” (already seen too many tombs and have gotten bored), it’s a must see in my opinion! Glad you got to go.
One of the best channels Man . Egypt has so many hidden places and secrets that no one knows anything about. And discovering part of those places with you makes it really precious...
32!-live well there for a month for that, but it is the big one and been closed for years. Pity the VotK gets so busy,I remember hiring a bicycle for £1 a day and going past Howards house at 7.30am, the guards going to work reaching their hands out to pull me up the hill, lol,got to the top and was given the keys to Tutankhamens tomb to open, had it all to myself for 30mins,as I came out the sun was just rising and I had the lovely view of about 1,000 tourist s coming towards me!
Hey a step into History is worth any price - I visited there last year and could not even begin to think of not going. Not like its around the corner. Seti was an extraordinary Pharaoh - the greatest Pharaoh in the 19th Dynasty. KV 17 - We love Seti ❤❤❤
I went in that tomb in 2019. I would have paid three times the amount. I cried afterwards. For years, this tomb was inaccessible to the public. It was considered of such historical significance and peoples' exhalations and sweat, damage the reliefs and pigments, that it was closed to all but important excavators and archeologists. There were only three other people in there, with me. I have a video of it. The Valley of the Kings is my favorite part of Egypt. They only accepted only Egyptian pounds when we were there.
As an 11 year old i went to the king Tut Ex in London , and the power of that was over whelming . Going to Egypt i suspect would be on the top of my bucket list and not sure if i could hold it together either.
Not worth it. Current price 1400 egp. If you travel independently and are at the sight at 6 am you have the other tombs and the valley for you for approx. 1-1.5h. (Depending on the season). In your video there are too many tourists in the tomb already. And the paintings in Ramsess V&VI are equally stunning (and cost less extra)
Hey Gus, we really enjoy your in depth videos on Egypt. Were going sept of this year, ss sudan, aswan, luxor, cairo. Do you feel the seti 1 tomb is very physically exhausting, retired? Thanks for expressing your love of egypt.
Seti I has a ton of stairs, and some of my guests found it to be too many stairs, so if you are already tired at the thought of visiting three tombs plus Tutankhamen, I would skip it. Nefertari’s tomb in the Queen’s Valley had very few steps and is much more beautiful.
It is a beautiful tomb with its walls of unique value. Hieroglyphics and beautiful colors. I wanted to review the video I saw in a TV series that was very well done, but here I only saw the back of the tourist in line in front of you. 😢
Hi, Is going to Ain Sokhna for a beach day worth it? I see a day trip from Cairo for $35 which includes beach chair and towel. I believe it’s only a two hour ride.
It depends-if you want to go to an ok beach (nothing like the beaches in Bali, Hawaii, Maldives, etc.) then sure, but I’d never recommend it for any of my itineraries unless the person specifically wanted to do scuba diving at a particular site, or had lots of time in Egypt and wanted to spend time on the beach.
I have heard that within the recent couple of months tickets are able to be purchased with credit card, but I have not been able to verify this personally. The last time I was at these sites in April some sites were accepting credit cards and some or not. Even if the site is accepting credit cards, having cash is very important, because credit card machines often do not work in Egypt due to a malfunctioning machine or no internet signal.
For all the photos/videos I took using my iPhone, not necessary at all. If you have very professional looking equipment, you may need one. Anyone have any experience going into the tomb with a DSLR or more professional setup?
Thanks for that memo! They are raising them to bring them back to what they used to be, in terms of the foreign exchange rate. The pound is probably dropping in early 2024, so that will bring the “price” down again in terms of USD to Egyptian Pounds for ticket prices.
It totally depends! If you’re going to all the sites the pass includes, then yes. Otherwise, I prefer to buy tickets for just the sites I go to. You need to do the math and figure out if it’s worth it or not, based on what you’ll go to.
I’ve heard that feedback from other people, and I’ve tried doing better on my most recent videos. Sorry for the whiplash 🙃. Thanks for watching and for your feedback.
the sarcophahus (unsold to the British Museum), was bought by Sir John Soane who demolished buildings behind his home just to winch it in place. The inauguaral party involved filling it with light. Belzoni's name is incised on the rim@@EgyptAdventuresTravel
Loud Americans yakking away on their smart phones doing their 'bucket list' but not really interested. It should be as quiet as a library and respectful. It's the people who are tacky. I'm surprised there isn't a McDonalds there. @@EgyptAdventuresTravel
Thanks for clarifying -- you would enjoy going at a time when the larger cruise ships are not there, then, or early in the morning, right when the valley opens. Those are the best strategies to avoid other people and noise. @@EdenConway-m2q
*Let them rest in peace. OMG no one wants to be disturbed in their afterlife by thieves looters and tourists. Please I beg you all just don’t ever visit these tombs. It is highly inappropriate and should be shutdown and banned permanently. No trespassing* 🚫🚯🚭🚯🚷
I’d recommend letting your Egyptian tour guide know that stairs are an issue, and they can recommend the tombs with the easiest access. I often make customized trips for folks who need modifications like having less walking or fewer stairs. Feel free to fill out an interest form on my website if you’re interested in a customized trip 👍🏼
PSA: as of nov 30 , 2024 SET I tomb costs EGP 2000.
Thanks!

A bargain at $32
My favorite Egyptology channel, I hope you do a museum list of must visit in Egypt since Egypt is filled with museums and one can't visit them all.
Great idea!

@@mariebaxter473 it’s amazing to see it in real life 🤩
How much is the Luxor Pass, and os it worth it? Indormative video, thanks :)
This life museums are awesome. I have been in. Ramses is nice too.
Yes, I loved this tomb.

Great advice and thoughts!
Yes, I book a taxi for 0500, less crowds, less heat
Loved SETI but agree…Nefatari’s was better. Thanks for the memories.
Yes, I agree if you can only see one, do Nefertari. But if you can do both, Seti I is awesome!
Wow amazing
Right? It's a beautiful tomb!

Yes, unfortunately they told me to shut off my video immediately upon entering the tomb 😰

Hi SETI, I have 5 nights in Egypt! How can I see Cairo, Aswan (Abu Simbel) and Luxor (Valley Of The Kings) during this trip? Thanks 😢
I’d recommend a minimum of 7 nights to see all of those places. You can check out my other UA-cam videos that have example itineraries 💪🏼
can you purchase tickets in luxor temple , karnak, valley of kings, aswan abu simbel via credit card inside/outside the ticket counter?
I have heard that within the recent couple of months tickets are able to be purchased with credit card, but I have not been able to verify this personally. thank you, do they charge commission on the ticket prices?
How essential is a photography pass?
For all the photos/videos I took using my iPhone, not necessary at all. If you have very professional looking equipment, you may need one. Anyone have any experience going into the tomb with a DSLR or more professional setup?
Amazing structure but prices have gone up again be ready to fork out 1800 EGP for seti + 600 EGP for the entrance and more for Ramses
Thanks for that memo! They are raising them to bring them back to what they used to be, in terms of the foreign exchange rate. The pound is probably dropping in early 2024, so that will bring the “price” down again in terms of USD to Egyptian Pounds for ticket prices.
And the god meen had a great impact on that civilization ... WoW..
Im speechless..
Indeed!
Tks for thw video. Today Feb 14 2024 the price is absurd EGP 1.800
Ramsess III is much more well preserved than Seti I and it is big too.
Thanks for sharing! I need to do a video on Ramses III.
This tomb was finished by Seti's son, Rameses II. They were very close and his love for his father compelled him to finish this tomb.
Thanks for watching and sharing!
hi there, is the Luxor pass worth it?

I cannot believe they allow everything to be so close to the visitors, the walls and ceilings unprotected.
Some tombs they are protected more, but others like this one they rely on tomb guards in person to keep the reliefs safe.
I spent that on breakfast but.. idk if i could put up with all the echoing inside. Id definitely have to wear ear plugs.
Nefertari’s tomb might be an better option for you, then 👍🏼
@@EgyptAdventuresTravel put that in my file
You whip the camera around too fast. A bit slower would give opportunity to see the hieroglyphs and figures.

I hated the crowds..................... killed the trip for me.
Shoot, sorry it was crowded when you went!
1000 Egyptian pounds=$20 USA dollars..
At the time of this video, the exchange rate was different, but at the time of this comment, yes, you’re right.
I wouldn't pay; enjoy his sarcophagus in London though
Yes, it’s definitely not a tomb for everyone-many people are happy with the three they get to see with the normal entry ticket.
