  • Thanks to our fans on Instagram we have another outstanding beer recipe to share with everyone. Vegetable beers are not very common and finding one at a bottle shop may be difficult. so we were stoked to find this one while sorting through all of our recipe submissions. It utilizes carrots and beets to achieve an earthy flavor and an unreal color.
    In this video we also discuss maximizing BIAB brewhouse efficiency.
    Unrelated to brewing, we talk about a new cooking channel featuring Emmet's favorite recipes from his 20s! Spaghetti Noodles, and Baked Beans anyone?

    Oooh nice!
    I'm locked down in Melbourne Australia and have been making simple brews for a while.
    I've got more beets than I can use and carrots are cheap, so this looks like a great thing to try.
    Next brew for sure!
    Cheers

    This sounds like a weird beer but I like things that are unusual and I would definitely give that a try if someone poured me a carrot and beet beer. Awesome jobs guys!

    A friend of mine tested the Anton Paar tool (the company is from our city so we had good connections) and while he found that the readings worked well, they did not differ that much from the results of a way cheaper refractometer. Big Problem was that the thin connections tended to become sticky and close up (because of all the sugars in the wort).

    Just stumbled on this fun one. Got a process suggestion for you though... Try mashing the beets and carrots with the grains (more sugar conversion - like a traditional pumpkin beer) and just ferment for the 3 days(ish) with that monster kviek.

    Guys, great work. I need some information about PH correction. The ideal PH range is 5.2-5.4 in mash temperature. But what about PH meters with ATC? what is the range? I have seen that in room temperature the ideal PH range is 5.4-5.6

    • @ClawhammerSupply

      The idea was to add them half way through fermentation, as to not overdo the veggie flavor.

    • @profanegardener
      @profanegardener 3 роки тому

      @@ClawhammerSupply you don't get a large amount of flavour from the mash but you do get more starches and therefore more fermentables.

    He just slid that air lock into that rubber gasket all the way down like it was nothing. I am assuming that is what happens when the gasket has received enough penetrations.
    I only mention it because my airlocks can only get the tip in before a good seal happens. And forcing it further down causes regrets.
