- Making hopped apple cider is so much easier than making beer. In this video, we show you how to make some of the freshest and juiciest cider you've ever tasted. We start our journey by visiting a local apple orchard where we get a mixture of fresh apples and cider apples. After pressing and juicing, we add a bunch of mosaic hops and some English dry ale yeast. We also weigh in on the heat pasteurization vs. chemical pasteurization debate. Like tacos? I have done many a dry hopped ciders and cysers. And I will say my favorite hops to use are bru-1 and apple crisp!
Really happy to see a video like this come out! Gonna dry-hop a saison cider of mine soon and was curious about the hop ratio to use.
This ratio is absolute perfection (for a 180F hop stand, at least). It turned out great.
I use S-04 a heap for cider. Works great!
I love making dry hopped ciders! Never tried it with fresh fruit, fingers crossed one day I can find the space for the kit to give it a go!
