I bought a bag of Casey's chips at a gas station in Iowa just this last year, Sep 2024. They did pop at around 10400' on I-70 in Colorado before the Eisenhower Tunnel/Continental Divide. I did that drive a number of times over the course of many years and that was the only bag that ever did pop.
I missed the unpressurized bottle on the way down. Years ago I was on Mount Etna/Sicily at 3200m above sea level and was amazed at how compressed the bottle was when I was back down at sea level. 😬
For sure - pretty insignificant in a car w/AC compared to the 300mb+ drop due to altitude!. Plus the effect would be working against what you see here. I went from something like 106f to 60f. Thanks for the note!

Why does your drybag burst seams when folded/sealed before you put it in your baggage on a flight from Canada to Jamaica?
I love science
And chips
(The heat from the sun would also expand the bags.)
