That's interesting. I assume it's because of the large size. I know I've seen several videos of both B&W and Color eInk screens on their 'fast modes' playing incredibly smooth video (for eInk) and a few people having connected a bluetooth mouse, etc. and the tracking was WAY faster than on that. Kinda makes me wonder if it could also be an operating system efficiency type of thing or something as well. For so much money, I am at the same time very impressed and a bit underwhelmed . How odd! :) Thank you so much for going out on the limb and doing this for us!
Thanks for this review excellent. You can connect ethernet to USBC according to Bigme I asked them. Apparently there was a recent firmware upgrade for the monitor. As a secondary monitor it makes sense.
Thanks for this review. Do you know if the integrated GPU adds any performance improvements to just using this as a monitor for a separate computer? I saw in a different review for the monitor-only model that the reviewer thought it's rendering quality could benefit from an onboard GPU, wondering if you noticed any improvement.
Hi. Thank you for the review. Can the all-in-one desktop version be used as a second monitor with a laptop? The price difference between this and the monitor version is very small that it could be worth having both options if possible
You know, I never tried that out, so I can't be completely sure. But I don't know why the computer would have an HDMI cable, etc. if not to receive a signal from another source. I would be surprised if you could not connect your laptop and display it on this monitor.
Thanks for the review. I really have trouble seeing these as useful for any context at this price point. It's almost begging the question of just because it can be built, should it?
@@jeffreymoss And when you compare black and white monitor (Dasung PaperLike, Mira Pro) with color one like this BigMe ... which one is better to use only with natural light? I think that the color one is darker, has worst contrast and it is harder readable on natural light. Is my assumption true?
@@jirinemec9960 I actually haven't worked with a black and white monitor before, this was my first eink monitor experience. And, I suspect, my last. But there's no question a B&W monitor will be easier to see in any lighting condition over the K3 models. That will be true until a tech like Gallery 3 makes it way to the format (we're probably a few years until that's possible however).
It’s great to see innovative tech like this being put to the market. Thanks for the review.

If your looking to sell it let me know

It's hard to say, because I don't have any experience with the monitor-only version of this device. My guess is 'no', but I can't say for sure.

Yeah. I feel that way about a lot of tech, even though I remain a tech optimist.
So it is usable without backlight on? It is readable without backlight?
That totally depends on your lighting situation. But if you have a bright room, then you probably won't need the front lighting.

@@jeffreymoss OK, thanks for your answer. I ordered Bigme B251 a I will see if I will return it and try B&W version or it will be OK.
