So my brain is not all Albert Einstein smart, but to summarize what's going on: Some of the bones of the "Saurophaganax" actually belong to a sauropod. However, some parts actually did belong to a new large allosaurus species. Hope this helped some of you people out, and let me know if I summarized it wrong
3:29 non en fait car il y a plusieurs spécimens de saurophaganax qui serait plus grand que le spécimens holotype et qui aurait atteint 12.0 - 13.0 m de longueur.
I, in your place, would probably have reviewed these pretending Saurophaganax had always been a sauropod and everyone just did really weird interpretations of a large sauropod.
Guys, saurophaganax is still around, it's just a different name. It is unfortunate that the diploticid sauropod has the name attributed to it now, but there is still a large allosaurid. It's still cool, i understand you guys are sad its gone, but be glad theres still a very large allosaur
I am really sad _Saurophaganax_ is now a sauropod, but we did at least get a new species of _Allosaurus_ that was (probably) as large as we've imagined it to be. And I mean, hey, who knows? Maybe when we have more material of this allosaur that's better described, it'll be assigned to its own genus after all.
Guys! It's not invalid; it's just reclassified as a Sauropod. If Saurophaganax wasn't valid, they wouldn't have called the new Allosaurus species Anax; they would have been forced to stick with Maximus because it came first.
I think the ARK Allosaurus is based on Saurophaganax in terms of size. For a ‘medium’ sized creature, it’s 18 metres long, much bigger than the 12m Carnotaurus which is also medium, much closer to the 19m long Yutyrannus which is a large creature. They’re also very aggressive, will attack you even you’re riding a Giga, probably the only ‘medium’ carnivores would do that. If you install Paleo ARK, there’s a dwarf Allo variant, which makes the OG Allo look even more like Saurophaganax.
Since no dinosaur fossils have yet been found in some countries, there is a small chance, perhaps less than 0.01%, that Saurophaganax really existed. In a different place and perhaps a different era than previously thought, but until then...goodbye Saurophaganax.
It's literally the same thing other than a change in name. If your name was John and you one day changed it to Bob, would that make you a different person?
The only thing scarier than an Allosaurus that has never seen such bullshit before… …is an even bigger Allosaurus who has seen such astronomical amounts of bullshit it has thrown him into a blind rage.
Isn't SAUROPHAGANX technically still valid because they also found another species of allosaurus (anax) which is the new largest allosaurid which saurophaganx was then? That just means they found a new sauropod, but not a new allosaurus. then that means saurophaganx is still valid since they found large allosaurus bones.
No, it's not valid. They didn't drop its name for nothing, a lot of parts that were thought to be of Saurophaganaxs' are belong to some kind of Sauropod. So they gave the name 'Saurophaganax' to that Sauropod and renamed the Allosaurid to Allosaurus Anax.
Saurophaganax as a theropod isn’t. Rather, the name will likely go to the unidentified sauropod. The theropod is simply the large species of Allosaurus.
Since Saurophaganax was actually a sauropod and we have a new Allosaurus species, why don’t we just name the new species of Allosaurus as Saurophaganax and rename the new sauropod as another Brontosaurus species
Allosaurus _anax,_ eh? Well, farewell, Saurophaganax, Lord of the Lizard Eaters (👋). Your skeleton will still stand in the hall of the New Mexico Museum of Natural History alongside ’Seismosaurus.’
Now knowing "Saurophaganax" is A. anax, did they still live in the same time and place? Having two similar animals from the same genus feels unlikely. But I guess leopards and lions live together

So my brain is not all Albert Einstein smart, but to summarize what's going on:
Some of the bones of the "Saurophaganax" actually belong to a sauropod.
Should have put a sauropod on the thumbnail
Allosaurus is king once again!
My favorite dino!!! 😍
They have concept for allo and sauro in the art book for prehistoric kingdom.
Guys! It's not invalid; it's just reclassified as a Sauropod. If Saurophaganax wasn't valid, they wouldn't have called the new Allosaurus species Anax; they would have been forced to stick with Maximus because it came first.
Saurophaganax is actually a nomen dubium now, so its validity is uncertain
It’s reclassified as undiagnostic beyond saurischia
Oh, well, people shouldn't jump to the invalid conclusion yet.
Rip Saurophagenax
Give us back our Lord of the Lizard Eaters!
Hallo Dino-Guy, Where did you buy the beautiful Brachiosaurus that stands behind you. I think it’s not the Mattel version if I ain’t wrong.
There is a saurophaganax skeleton at my local museum. Always been my favorite dinosaur even if it is now invalid
I was hoping saurophaganax from short film on youtube 'hell creek'
Wasn't that an Allosaurus?
@simbiotesnus1013 i asked creator of the film and he replied, it was meant to be saurophaganax
Planet Dinosaur and Prior Extinction's ones are the best, in Colours but in Anatomy too.
I’m still counting Saurophaganax as a separate Allosaur
yay prior extinction saurophaganax in thumbnail
Do megalosaurus in February
He already did megalosaurus
We have the same Microphone Boom Crane!
Since no dinosaur fossils have yet been found in some countries, there is a small chance, perhaps less than 0.01%, that Saurophaganax really existed. In a different place and perhaps a different era than previously thought, but until then...goodbye Saurophaganax.
That’s not how taxonomy works
Here is the thing right, Sorophaganax might be a nomen Dubium, but Allosaurus Anax is still the largest predator of the morrison formation.
It's literally the same thing other than a change in name. If your name was John and you one day changed it to Bob, would that make you a different person?
@daliborjovanovic510 that's exactly my point, it's still the largest one, torvosaur will still be the 2nd largest
this is so cool sweet! AKA im new here hahahah hello all
Ah yes, just in time for bedtime routine 😈
Nah don’t worry just ignore that dubious species aren’t real and just accepted they are real I do it all the time or maybe that a bad way to cope
I had both those questions but hey, Lizard eating master
NOO WHY MUST I BE A FAT SAUROPOD NOW 😭😔
It’s still saurophaganax…
Nope, it's Allosaurus anax now.
Now it’s just a sub species of Allosaurus
5:37 a Little hint : buy the Artbook from it you will not regret it
I actually did! I just have been unable to access it for some reason.
@@DinoGuy8 Oh thats bad Im sorry for that
The only thing scarier than an Allosaurus that has never seen such bullshit before…
…is an even bigger Allosaurus who has seen such astronomical amounts of bullshit it has thrown him into a blind rage.
I hope the Allosaurus Anax/Saurophaganax mess ends someday
R.I.P Saurophaganax...
Holy shit prior extinction spotted
Not me finding out the Saurophaganax its not real x'D
i have know checked up on this but is Saurophaganax not a dinosuar ennymore?
Hey Dino question for you would you rather be in the world of the dinosaur king or fossil fighters?
@@nothing4381 "lord of the lizard eaters" shouldn’t belong to a sauropod. 😭
RIP my glorious king😔
ik u have awncered me but i will say it agean: can u make a The MANY Interpretations of The Microraptor or qianzhousaurus please?!?!?!
Since Saurophaganax was actually a sauropod and we have a new Allosaurus species, why don’t we just name the new species of Allosaurus as Saurophaganax and rename the new sauropod as another Brontosaurus species
Because taxonomy doesn’t work that way
One interpretation in real life has it has a sauropod!
Allosaurus _anax,_ eh? Well, farewell, Saurophaganax, Lord of the Lizard Eaters (👋). Your skeleton will still stand in the hall of the New Mexico Museum of Natural History alongside ’Seismosaurus.’
Well, that “skeleton” is an up sized Allosaurus cast. But it’s sad both of their signature dinosaurs are invalid names now.
@ True. But I’ve come to accept this as the reality of paleontology.
Now knowing "Saurophaganax" is A. anax, did they still live in the same time and place? Having two similar animals from the same genus feels unlikely. But I guess leopards and lions live together
It’s A Shame That Saurophaganax Is No Longer A Theropod
Well some of it is
It’s still a theropod. IUCN rules suggest the possible sauropod material should get a new name, to preserve prior usage.
Can I still use the name Saurophaganax?
😢😢😢😢😢😢
My favourite carnivorous bipedal theropod is no more
It's still a theropod it's called allosaurus anax
And the name saurophaganax belongs to a sauropod
No Allosaurus anax
Is the new name of Saurophagnax
@@archosaur_enjoyer824
And a Carnivorous Sauropod if you will
@@t-rexstudioproductions781 that would be so fuckin cool
