    VAG has the software dialed in very good so it seems with this Skoda. Very little drama.
    With the Ford it looks like when the traction control is off they also disable the virtual differential locking (braking the spinning wheel).

    Again, very impressive. Skoda seems to have its software tuned perfectly.
    Ford could have done better though. I can't see why they consider EDL and ESP (or whatever they call it) as a single system so they just kill them both.
    I hardly imagine the conditions where EDL would not be needed.

    Which engine is in the Kodiaq? 150/190 bhp? Or the vRS? And is this the manual or the 7dsg?

      @@rado78231 For this test - probably not. For handling - it is possible that vRS may have some more aggressive haldex tuning.

      @@rado78231 the new petrol VRS has more torque, might have a little bit different tuning, but the results should be similar.

    Skoda definitely has the traction control software dialed in very effectively. However, too much system intervention when the traction control is off. Ford is very impressive too, I love that when the traction control is turned off, it is completely off. Very helpful for sand and mud. Ford's traction control is very impressive too with quick response to slipping wheel.

    Does the 4WD perform better on 2.0 Diesel 210hp Edge models?
    Is the only roller test on Edge I've found on youtube but is based on 3.5 V6. The Restyle perform better and pass all the tests.

      No it shits itself at the first sign of a slippery road and shuts the full system down leaving you in 2wd

      @@ianhadfield65my dad has a ford edge (240 hp diesel) and its good in the snow here in the uk,even with summer tyres its good and gets up a steep hill leading up to our street where lots of other cars gets stuck, we were surprised the car made it up the hill as it just slid down the hill

    Very good but why does it take so long for it to pass 1 back wheel traction test? I know almost all awd are like this but why cant it use the power distribution/braking it uses to pass the obstacle 2 seconds after failing to move instead of 10 seconds? Is it a limitation in software or hardware?

    • @4x4.tests.on.rollers
      @4x4.tests.on.rollers  2 роки тому +3

      If rear axle is powered by the clutch-pack then it is more difficult for the software - it must power the wheels and brake them at the same time.

      Also the front wheels can get 100% of the available torque but the rear wheel can only get 50% max I think.

      if someone thinks about buying an SUV from Audi like Q5 or VW like Touareg or BMW X5, must have to drive this Skoda once. The car is big inside, has great engines and a great drive that works well on asphalt, road and snow.

    Is the haldex system in the Kodiaq the same like in a Superb just with without the multiple modes?
    I am asking because i have a Skoda Superb with the 272 hp gasoline engine and 4x4. Would be really interesting for me to know
    Can you also tell me if the Haldex System knows if i got a trailer hooked on my car?

    • @4x4.tests.on.rollers
      @4x4.tests.on.rollers  2 роки тому +1

      I have no information if tuning is the same. When it comes to trailer - systems knows it for sure on the basis of engine torque, rpm and its relation to speed.

    How many times did you have to replace the PTU on the Ford Edge while filming? 😄
