Spoiler Alert for those who never watched it: I feel like in the ending, James sends his clone back home so that the real him can stay back in the country. Maybe out of shame, he didn't want to face the reality of living in his rich wive's shadows and being the author of an unsuccessful book. The whole movie he wanted 'dominance' or to feel powerful, only to have it stripped away by a group of rich people, so he stayed back to probably, reclaim his 'power' by most likely, dominating poor people like the rich. A twisted cycle of the social hierarchy.
Oo I really like your thought that he sends a clone back while he stays! I found the cut between the two scenes to be really awkward (ofc through Lennie's video bc I havent seen the movie) but this is a really good explanation for that jarring "reveal"
That makes a lot of sense. How else would he even explain it to his wife? He must have sent a clone to live a peaceful life with her so he can dominate the island when his rich friends aren't there. I feel like he'd be more sadistic.
I thought that he just stayed there because he couldn’t go back to normal life after what happened. The rich people were acting as though nothing had happened and he seemed so affected that I just assumed he couldn’t do the same
I can see him sending a clone back but not with him staying just to get his 'power' back. In the end, I feel like he is too humiliated to the point where he realizes he never really was in control, so he just gives in to the weather elements of the hurricane. No human can control the weather
I will say, the actress that plays the wife Em Foster is Cleopatra Coleman they let her keep her natural accent which is a mixture of cultures. Her dad is from South Wales Australia where she grew up and her mom is Jamaican. I think that’s what you were picking up which is accurate as a mix of accents but in this case it is natural. Then I moved to the US and grew up in Brooklyn as a young teenager. My accent is all of those things 😭
Agreed, I told my partner that when he didn't just stop the car when the lights were acting weird, my pity started waning. Then he smiled when his first clone was killed and I was like "hmmm... not great but he's going through a lot" and then he started doing the crazy stuff with the group and from there, he deserved everything he got.
uh. she can still have "adhd traits" without necessarily having adhd. you need a diagnosis, and it needs to impact your life to a certain degree. @@freddie6307 I've noticed that for a lot of people, a symptom of neurodivergency is thinking that the traits that make you diagnosable as having ADHD or autism or whatever it may be are completely exclusive and unique to people who are neurodivergent. it seems that some non sweds dont know this, but Alexander Skarsgard is also a nepobaby, we know him and his siblings as like, THE nepobabies. Their dad is Stellan Skarsgard, very famous in Sweden, was in goodwill hunting. Thought mentioning this might add to the nepotism aspect of the film lol
Kennie there's a pyscho-stalker movie with J.Lo in it called The Boy Next Door that's wonderfully bad, it came out when I was 13 or 14 and it was the first adult movie that I sneakily watched on my Kindle Fire
This movie is fascinating to me because I feel like it’s rare to see a nepo baby explore these topics in a way that kind of captures how gross and exploitative the industries around them actually are. I’ve never had the means to experience that kind of wealth so it’s an interesting perspective to see, as long as the person isn’t softening the impact because they’re trying to not acknowledge the extent of their privilege
I think its additionally interesting cause Mia and Alexander are also nepo babies in their own right as well which i feel like was a very deliberate casting choice!
Kennie, highly recommend the Bollywood movie Om Shanti Om. It’s a romantic comedy that pokes fun of its own brand and also has a meta moment where it gets a large number of super famous Bollywood actors to sing about their own privilege. 10/10 movie with some truly ridiculous scenes
they’re not singing about their privilege, majority of bollywood is not self aware enough for that, it’s just a party song and they’re all friends in real life/have worked together before
😂 when kennie says, well "how do you go back to a normal life after that?" I'm thinking you better make it work, cuz there is NO way your rich EX girlfriend would continue to fund your ridiculous lifestyle after choosing a messed up resort over her 😅
that’s not even just an ex-girlfriend, that’s his WIFE that he prioritised a vacation over 😭 he’d better hope they didn’t sign a prenup, because she’s 100% divorcing him 😭
No, no, you're right. Almost every brown haired bearded white man looks the same. Unless you put them side by side or you've watched something like Hallmark for 5 years straight, you'd never be able to tell them apart.
lol definitely 🤣 ever since my brother grew his beard out there’s been about 5 separate times i’ve mistaken other guys to be him and it will sometimes take me a few minutes to tell the difference
i have a recommendation but it’s not a movie. i don’t know if you’ve heard of the korean drama “the glory” but it’s so amazing, it’s essentially about a woman getting revenge on all her bullies from the past, the whole show is amazing and has a very satisfying ending
7:40 yes sensory overload is super common in ADHD! I could see theaters being especially bad for that given the overwhelming visuals and audio. I def feel the same way during some movies in theaters ❤
Maybe the name infinity pool means to draw from an infinite pool. Like there is an infinite pool of clones but each time he is cloned, James becomes less human than he was before.
7:30 Yup! That’s an ADHD thing! (It’s also an autism spectrum thing but I digress. There’s a lot of co-morbidities between ADHD and autism.) It’s called sensory overload or overstimulation, it’s pretty common with people with ADHD, in some form or fashion anyway. Different people have it manifest in different ways or have an easier/more difficult time dealing with it as it can vary as to how severely it impacts your day-to-day. Anyway, this has been a tangent from a fellow person with ADHD, and former psych major, xD
Same same, does seem quite common with us too. I literally could not watch the grand Budapest hotel just because of how it was filmed or something but something set me off so hard I couldn't bear it. That and not being able to take bright lights/sun and loud noises at the same time without having one of those stimming attacks so hard I can't speak lol
I have not been diagnosed with ADHD or autism, but this is still something that can happen to anyone. If you ever feel irrationally angry or anxious at something you're seeing or hearing, that can be a sign of overstimulation. I was sitting at a table in a cafeteria once where I was surrounded by noise and movement and people and I suddenly became irrationally angry about the sound of cutlery clanking on plates and bowls. It was so overwhelming I couldn't stand it and I had to leave the situation to calm down. It doesn't happen super frequently to me but I have definitely experienced it. (It's especially common when you've been surrounded by, say, sterile colors and environments and suddenly you have an onslaught of vibrant colors and loud situations. It's overwhelming.)
(edited bc i was an asshole lmao) : this is a great comment, very informative! just my two cents for anyone who may be questioning if they have adhd: sensory overload can happen to anyone, adhd or not. many traits also mimic each other. the human brain is complex, and these traits aren't necessarily exclusive to adhd. it also doesn't mean that you don't have adhd. that's between you and a professional. psa: please get professionally diagnosed before telling people you have adhd. it's annoying to see people claiming they have adhd based off of one trait that like 99% of the population has, and self diagnosis just makes it harder for people who actually have adhd to be taken seriously or sometimes even get the help and resources we need. sincerely, someone with professionally diagnosed adhd.
I think your early opinion was spot on. I also watched the movie in theaters and though I disliked the entire movie up to the end, it's blatantly a movie just meant to make the watchers uncomfortable but it's done with nearly no relevance to the actual story early on. One of my biggest gripes was the over use of Dutch angles especially when looking at the resort. They made it seem like something was off of wrong about the resort and then that went nowhere, it was the government and a few travelers. I remember thinking during one of the dinners that maybe some of the employees were part of a cult or something but all that discomfort was misplaced. Almost like it's meant to mislead us, there were a lot of cheap tricks to cover up a mediocre story. (like random prolonged shots of the ocean when the ocean had nothing to do with the story)
I saw this in theaters and it was definitely one big trip. Tbh I kinda liked the first half of the movie better bc it had a more interesting vibe. You had the obvious undertones about harmful tourism industries, the question of how would YOU feel if you had to watch yourself die and question your existence, and the (now oversaturated) theme of the selfishness of the ultra-rich. The ending was more action-y and I loved Mia Goth’s performance but I feel like it lost a little bit of its meaning in exchange for just being violent. Like the whole “dog” fight and blood titty just kinda lost me lol. Also, why did they want to keep him at the resort if they were going to go back home eventually anyway? I thought they were going to end up being a murder cult that posted up on the island or something. But overall, I feel like the movie succeeded in being unsettling and grotesque bc I left the theater feeling grossed out and confused but not mad about it lol.
They kept him on the resort because they didn't want him to leave on his own terms, they wanted him to leave on theirs. (and idk but I can kinda imagine them having a convo along the lines of: "I already paid for the f*n clone, I wanna see them fight okay?!" and that being enough to justify them chasing him down). I think its better that it's not a murder cult per se just because of the themes of dominance and power. They don't need to kill him because he is so powerless in their eyes that there is nothing he can do to get them back or get them in trouble. That reflects real life, and how rich people treat/harm poor people, much more than them just being a bunch of serial killers. He is entertainment to them when they want him and a minor annoyance at best when they are done with him.
Mia Goth has always been in weird movies. Her weirdness has just become mainstream and I’m loving it. 😂 I’m also loving Alexander Skarsgard’s random turn to weird roles. Good for him.
Mia Goth is so fun. She was amazing in Pearl. Also this is such a solid look. I love the beanie and the green eyeshadow. Also also, for some random reason, the captions decided to interpret Kennie's restrained laugh as the word "foreign" and that was very funny to me.
“Is it a kink or a cry for help” 😂😂😂 Chiiiile listen!! If I had heard this just a few years earlier I could’ve saved myself A LOT of time, hurt and regrets. Fortunately I ended up marrying a good man but sometimes I wonder if his kinks were a cry for help too🥴
This movie just like Midsommer enter into the category of movies "only make any lick of sense when you heard it's actually the director working through some personal stuff and not an actual story" for me. Infinity pool in essence is about a guy who feel inadequate and has everything around him making him feel as such (wife openly recognizing that love for him had nothing to do with marrying him), until he fantasizes about a hot fan who likes his job and she utterly destroys his ego until he realizes "hey, maybe what I needed all the time was getting over myself" to get some sort of closure. Just like Midsommer is about a messy breakup, this is about a dude's ego but with a lot of psychodelic bullshit and more sex with pet play because why not. The wife is not a real character, it's a personal projection of those feeling of being immasculated and a loser basically. Mia Goth's character is the projection of that inadequacy as a writer and a men even further.
As someone who has interacted with media with very similar themes to Infinity Pool, I just found Infinity Pool to be absolutely terrible. It does nothing with it's concepts and just added in the s*x and explicitly violent scenes to make the movie seem grander that it was. It absolutely confounds me that so many critics like it.
I LOVE how I get to "watch" movies I had no intention of watching (although this one might have tricked me bc I stan a writer character)...keeping up with the cultural ziegiest and feeding my interest in horror, while my tolerance for it has dropped.
…..☹️ what the hell…. See this is why I enjoy you, Kennie. I could never sit through a movie like this but you describing it is extremely entertaining. But still… I’m disturbed.
Kenny: I felt like I was sensory overloaded. (Pauses) Is that an adhd thing? Me, with adhd: Yes, girl. Yes, it is! 😂 Also, watch Pearl! 😂 In all seriousness, I don't think I'd like this movie if I was to sit and watch, not because it's horrid, but I think the sound alone would not be good for me because I too would most likely get overwhelmed by it.
This series means so much to me. My weekend wash days are not the same without bad movies in a beat. With that being said this one was a doozie. I kind of want to see it and then come back to this video
KENNIE I watched this opening weekend and I was HOPING AND PRAYING you would watch this movie. I love Mia Goth and anything she's in (Ex and Pearl are masterpieces- especially Pearl). The flash scenes were too much but the movie itself was fun to watch. I gave it a 7/10. Love your take on it!
Yes, please do a video on Pearl!!! Was very excited when you mentioned it being one of your 2022 favs in your video on The Menu and was hoping that would be a possibility!
My autistic ass is so relating to the overstimulation and not being confident whether or not it’s actually overwhelming or unsettling to that degree or it’s actually to that extreme. Love ur videos! I’ve been waiting for you to do a vid on this movie😊
The way you described the beginning of Infinity Pool reminds me of how I felt watching Skinamarink for the first time. It's really unnerving and not much happens for the first like 40 minutes, but the middle/end of it just make your stomach turn especially when you realize what's happening. I did not like it on the first watch but after the second time, I really loved it. I don't think it's exactly up your alley, but I definitely think it's one of those movies people should try out at least once.
To answer the question you raised in the beginning: Yes, it is very common for us ADHDers to have sensory issues/sensitivities. I don't like to leave my house without my earplugs. You never know when someone/something is going to make some noise.
This movie was wild. I ended up watching the uncut version and the SA scene caught me off guard because I wasn't expecting to see... Someone brought to completion. I originally thought that the boob goo was a maggot he hallucinated because they referred to themselves as zombies lol. I still don't understand what I watched. And it seems like your friend Cole has a thing with weird shock factor titty scenes after Barbarian 😅
Shoutout to Cole for delivering us to this point. The man needs a wellness check I’m disturbed, I’m disgusted, and weirdly intrigued. Idk, maybe I’ll watch this one myself, but only in the safety of my friend’s house
ohhhhh i’m fascinated to see what kennie thinks of this movie. i saw it in theaters and i was ungodly bored by a lot of it but i’m also incredibly desensitized to the majority of the kind of imagery shown in it. since the shock didn’t get me, and there really wasn’t a ton to the movie outside of that (and what was said outside the shock value has all been said and done a billion times before), i really didn’t get much of anything from it. i thought the acting was solid but i really was just bored and annoyed through the majority of it. only movie i’ve almost walked out of from annoyance alone. and i don’t mean to sound like a pretentious edgelord “ummmmm I don’t think it was really that gross” like it was gross and foul and yeah shocking, but not in any way i hadn’t seen before. and then yeah like we get it, wealth, power, and lack of consequence can and often will corrupt, we know this we all know this. would’ve been nice if the movie had anything else to say
You're probably not gonna see this Kennie, I really appreciate your videos. I'm an artist and I've been having a burnout so I was really depressed about not being able to draw, but I saw your video and decided to watch/listen to it while I drew so I got some art done! Just wanted to say thanks!
I think it's interesting you brought up Gabby and her crew being hella racist to the Li Tolqans despite them technically being white cause as we know who gets to be considered "white" and "non-white" is something always in flux throughout history. They never tell us where Li Tolqa is specifically but it seems heavily coded as being a vaguely Eastern European/specifically Balkans-ish country (most of the movie was filmed in Croatia IIRC). People from that part of the world, while technically European and "white", have often been understood as, if not outright non-white, pretty far towards to the periphery of what gets considered "white" (and in the context of immigration to the US/UK basically treated as non-white e.g. look at anything a British Home Secretary has said about Slavic immigrants in the last 10 years lol). For me this was kind of one of the main themes of the movie: the racist division of the world into "white"/"non-white" or "Western"/"Eastern", and how that ultimately makes people closer to power and privilege (i.e. those considered "white" or "Western" like Gabby et al.) 1000x more barbarous and violent than the people they project non-whiteness/orientalism onto. I think that's why there were those otherwise weird out of place moments like the scene in the hella appropriative Chinese restaurant or that random cut-away to the "Bollywood dancers" in the resort. Li Tolqa is sort of like an imaginary spot where all of these violently racist/orientalist understandings of the world come together and then freaks like Gabby get unleashed on it for their own pleasure.
I do not know what I expected when you were describing the film, but I was not prepared for the mention of cloning. Not the main guy getting caught up initially because of one (1) singular compliment about his book. I haven’t even seen the movie, but Em staying when he first mentioned couldn’t find his passport feels out of character lol. The faces I made when you described the o*gy trip and the feeding scenes…….I’m-
the different accents of the one woman are intentional to portray the kind of rich tourists that go to such resorts from western countries like England,America & Australia..
i watched this a couple of days ago and was hoping you were gonna make a video on it. i’ve seen some disturbing movies and this one definitely took to cake. like you said most of the movie is kind of boring and grey, so it just makes the disturbing scenes more disturbing. it didn’t feel right watching 😭🤣

Wait since u went to SXSW, are u planning to cover Swarm? I had mixed thoughts about it, and as someone who engages in a few online fandoms, I feel like the critique could have been better. While yes, it talks a lot about the themes of acceptance which is HUGE in creating a para-social relationship, I feel like it's a bit surface-level in some aspects. Definitely a well-acted show but I think each idea could have been fleshed out a bit more.
I wanted to watch this, but I'll have to get back to it later on. I suffer from vertigo and watching the entry to breakfast scene you showed at 12:45 tripped it off! But thank you for watching this movie. I wanted to see a review of it, but I could barely sit through the trailer. It did make me queasy, so it made me curious! (Not curious enough to see it, though.)
I feel like this film is a very trippy representation of how modern day colonialism and classism affects social/political structures in the global South.
Cronenberg movies are so good at making you feel completely disturbed when you're done watching them. I don't think we are meant to actually like any of their movies.
I mean this with love in my heart and holy shit it’s crazy how people can get such different experiences out of art! I’m a trans man and Cronenberg sr.‘s films are some of my favorites of all time bc he seems to understand something about the horrors of the body that cis people don’t usually think about. Crimes of the Future and Dead Ringers in particular touched my soul, and The Fly is an all time classic imo so it’s wild to me to see someone say they’re not meant to be enjoyed
Don’t know how this bonkers plot didn’t stick but I was racking my brain trying to figure out why this movie looked familiar but the didn’t sound familiar until I realized Amanda posted about this a month ago 🤣🤣 Had a literal file not found cause it was in trash moment 😅😅

it seems that some non sweds dont know this, but Alexander Skarsgard is also a nepobaby, we know him and his siblings as like, THE nepobabies. Their dad is Stellan Skarsgard, very famous in Sweden, was in goodwill hunting. Thought mentioning this might add to the nepotism aspect of the film lol
I remember when he first put on his mask and it was a grotesque version of a court jester and I figured from then he was just going to be their pet
When Mia Goth started shooting and screaming I was dying lmao, she's so funny in this movie
Kennie there's a pyscho-stalker movie with J.Lo in it called The Boy Next Door that's wonderfully bad, it came out when I was 13 or 14 and it was the first adult movie that I sneakily watched on my Kindle Fire
Omg yessss 😂
I remember that!! She was a PREDATOR
Yes!!! I was also like 14 when it came out and it was the perfect stalker movie trainwreck.
Yasser! She needs to review this!
OMG, YES PLS 😂
Okay may I just say, Odile's laugh in Barbie's Swan Lake walked so that that "Jamesy" dolphin cackle could run😌
yaaaaasss I thought of that too 🤣
this is such a niche reference and I'm so glad to see it lol
Yassssss
This movie is fascinating to me because I feel like it’s rare to see a nepo baby explore these topics in a way that kind of captures how gross and exploitative the industries around them actually are. I’ve never had the means to experience that kind of wealth so it’s an interesting perspective to see, as long as the person isn’t softening the impact because they’re trying to not acknowledge the extent of their privilege
I think its additionally interesting cause Mia and Alexander are also nepo babies in their own right as well which i feel like was a very deliberate casting choice!
I feel it in my bones that this is gonna be a good one
I can't wrap my head around what I just watched.
I be saying this 💀
that was me when I watched the movie in theatres 💀
The edited comment😂😭
you're not wrong, the entire skarsgard family.
even their dad stellan gives off that 'i lock people in my basement' vibe.
Watch the girl with the dragon tattoo. The American one
She should do it cus of the storyline and the music too
What i luv this movie and the song om shanti om is not about privilege.....i think
they’re not singing about their privilege, majority of bollywood is not self aware enough for that, it’s just a party song and they’re all friends in real life/have worked together before
Yeees. I love that movie and don’t see people reccomending Bollywood films.
I also love how it does a unique take on reincarnation.
YESS one of my faves of all time
😂 when kennie says, well "how do you go back to a normal life after that?" I'm thinking you better make it work, cuz there is NO way your rich EX girlfriend would continue to fund your ridiculous lifestyle after choosing a messed up resort over her 😅
that’s not even just an ex-girlfriend, that’s his WIFE that he prioritised a vacation over 😭 he’d better hope they didn’t sign a prenup, because she’s 100% divorcing him 😭
That's the point though. He has nothing to return to and thus simply lets himself get washed away by the storm.
But he doesn’t have a beard
i have a recommendation but it’s not a movie. i don’t know if you’ve heard of the korean drama “the glory” but it’s so amazing, it’s essentially about a woman getting revenge on all her bullies from the past, the whole show is amazing and has a very satisfying ending
I adore revenge stories; thank you for the recommendation
@@bryansl0587 of course! but fair warning it is really intense😭
In the same vein, Al-Rawabi's School for Girls is also good
If there's one thing a kdrama Revenge Thriller's gonna be, it's carthatic. Loved The Glory
I LOOOOVVVVEE that one
7:40 yes sensory overload is super common in ADHD! I could see theaters being especially bad for that given the overwhelming visuals and audio. I def feel the same way during some movies in theaters ❤
Maybe the name infinity pool means to draw from an infinite pool. Like there is an infinite pool of clones but each time he is cloned, James becomes less human than he was before.
7:30
Yup!
Not the correct use of the term co-morbidities. If you don’t know medical terminology just don’t use it
I have not been diagnosed with ADHD or autism, but this is still something that can happen to anyone.
Was just about to say this. I have adhd and autism so knowing all about it is kind of a must lol!
(edited bc i was an asshole lmao) : this is a great comment, very informative! just my two cents for anyone who may be questioning if they have adhd:
sensory overload can happen to anyone, adhd or not. many traits also mimic each other. the human brain is complex, and these traits aren't necessarily exclusive to adhd. it also doesn't mean that you don't have adhd. that's between you and a professional.
psa: please get professionally diagnosed before telling people you have adhd. it's annoying to see people claiming they have adhd based off of one trait that like 99% of the population has, and self diagnosis just makes it harder for people who actually have adhd to be taken seriously or sometimes even get the help and resources we need.
sincerely, someone with professionally diagnosed adhd.
(like random prolonged shots of the ocean when the ocean had nothing to do with the story)
anydays a good day when Kennie uploads
Fr Saturdays aren't Saturdays without it😂
I saw this in theaters and it was definitely one big trip.
This movie was definitely shock value for shock value. The message of the film has been done 1000000 times.
There was a message??
@@maggotmaiden basically about the elite and absolute power corrupts absolutely
Maybe the nepo director was working through something
@@dementia8745 for real! 😂
Mia Goth has always been in weird movies. Her weirdness has just become mainstream and I’m loving it. 😂 I’m also loving Alexander Skarsgard’s random turn to weird roles. Good for him.
"Cover it in glitter and hope for the best" is my new life motto, thanks Kennie
"$30 ain't nothing to scoff @, you can buy a whole carton of eggs" had me DEAD 😂😂
Yes, it is! 😂
Also, watch Pearl! 😂
In all seriousness, I don't think I'd like this movie if I was to sit and watch, not because it's horrid, but I think the sound alone would not be good for me because I too would most likely get overwhelmed by it.
same here about the sensory overload thing 😂😂
The first time I watched _Moulin Rouge_ I left the theater feeling like I’d been kicked repeatedly in the head.
@@mst3kharris I love Baz Lehrman's work but I have to watch it in parts since the experience is so overwhelming.
Was very excited when you mentioned it being one of your 2022 favs in your video on The Menu and was hoping that would be a possibility!
kennie getting ralph fiennes & liam neeson confused makes me want to see her watch schindler's list
Kennieeee!! I have a recommendation for Bad Movies And A Beat!! You should do Fear (2023) but watch it in a HOOD MOVIE THEATER PLEASEEE!!
My autistic ass is so relating to the overstimulation and not being confident whether or not it’s actually overwhelming or unsettling to that degree or it’s actually to that extreme. Love ur videos! I’ve been waiting for you to do a vid on this movie😊
"Cover it in glitter and wish for the best" needs to be on a t-shirt. TM that shit.
Yay I'm so excited to hear you talk about Pearl!
Ouuuuu I’m so happy you did this one. I watched it and immediate was like ……..Kennie needs to see this shit.
The man needs a wellness check
I’m disturbed, I’m disgusted, and weirdly intrigued.
You know whats funny to me? People mention Alexander as Bill's brother, but no one mentions either of them as STELLAN SKARSGARD SONS
Not the right demographic, too young.
I know him from True Blood and Bill as baking Alexander’s brother just because I heard of him after
Mia Goth laughing and saying 'Jamesie' is going to be my new ringtone lol
Kennie! Pearl is in a trilogy, I think you should do a triple feature video! 🎉🎉🎉
Cole's very open about his breastfeeding kink huh
I do not know what I expected when you were describing the film, but I was not prepared for the mention of cloning. Not the main guy getting caught up initially because of one (1) singular compliment about his book. I haven’t even seen the movie, but Em staying when he first mentioned couldn’t find his passport feels out of character lol.
The faces I made when you described the o*gy trip and the feeding scenes…….I’m-
the different accents of the one woman are intentional to portray the kind of rich tourists that go to such resorts from western countries like England,America & Australia..
So this one made me look at the screen in true shock. Goo? Some goo? I screamed, "Girl what!? Kenny, girl, WHAT!?"
i watched this a couple of days ago and was hoping you were gonna make a video on it. i’ve seen some disturbing movies and this one definitely took to cake. like you said most of the movie is kind of boring and grey, so it just makes the disturbing scenes more disturbing. it didn’t feel right watching 😭🤣
As someone with ADHD this movie sounds like a nightmare to me, but I’m kinda curious HAHAHA. Maybe it’s one to watch in the day with my cuddly dog 🫠
Also the actress behind Em (cleopatra Coleman) is Australian. Called it the moment she was shown in the UA-cam vid haha (im Aussie)
Me, too!! I couldn’t sit through this movie if I saw it in theaters
Mia goth often plays strange characters but I do also love how she acts them out
Let me get this out of the way you’re literally doing green eyeshadow in a white crewneck sweater. Nothing but respect because I couldn’t do it. I’m already getting anxiety. Lmaoo
OMGG YESS, I was going to recommend this at some point because I watched it in theaters blind without knowing the plot and I was horrified by wtf I watched 😭😭
I haven’t seen her in other shit but I absolutely LOVED Mia Goth in Emma.

She's great in Suspiria.
From what I've heard and (clips) seen, this movie is the definition of "play stupid games, win stupid prizes"
i’m glad i wasn’t the only one that felt “sicky” watching this in theatres 😭
How does it feel being the funniest and finest person on this platform ???
I remember when I kept seeing ads for this movie and being upset I couldn't already just read the plot synopsis on Wikipedia cause I already knew I didn't want to watch it. And then this video popped up in my notifications!

“I’m disgusted! But I wanna know more” if that’s not me too then idk what is 😂😂
Mía is my favorite actress so i literally watch any movie with her in it
Wait since u went to SXSW, are u planning to cover Swarm?
I was watching a movie and I saw Bokeem Woodbine and I exclaimed “Oh 🫰🏽 EVIL DAVE CHAPELLE” 😂😂😂
Just wanted to say that green color looks great on you. On an unrelated note: You made me want to watch the movie lol
32:29 this scene is an asexual's worst nightmare
This description was EXACTLY how I felt about Uncut Gems
Don’t know how this bonkers plot didn’t stick but I was racking my brain trying to figure out why this movie looked familiar but the didn’t sound familiar until I realized Amanda posted about this a month ago 🤣🤣 Had a literal file not found cause it was in trash moment 😅😅
Cleopatra Coleman is Australian irl lol that’s why her accident is funky
Sensory overload is an adhd thing, I’m the same way. When i rave i have to wear earplugs and light coloured sunglasses for the music and lights/strobe
Edit: just the clips you added made me shudder, I can’t imagine how you felt in the theatre 😨😰
