The vehicle you are driving in this video that you show "all these buttons down here" early on, does have the Adaptive Air Suspension. It’s that button with the side view of the car with the arrow pointing down underneath it. I’m fairly certain all Macan GTS variants come with the Adaptive Air Suspension as standard. But a special version that’s 15mm lower than you are able to get on any other trim level. Maybe you can opt out of the Air setup, and specify steel springs. But it would be odd to have that on a press vehicle I would think.
I was not a fan of the macan untill I got in a loaner car. It was just a base but wow I was impressed with how it drove. For a vehicle of it's size.. it's amazing. I can't imagine how awesome top of the range models are
Porsche has traditionally done more with less in terms of being able to set a fast time on a track or road course. 375hp does seem low for a vehicle of this size and weight (and in the current market) but, just like Porsche cars of the past, keeping the revs up and really using the suspension and handling capabilities to their fullest will really hustle this Macan down the road. It's a recipe that Porsche has been working on for a very long time and they are very nearly perfect at it.
8 way? Those are the 18 way seats aren’t they? Love my current Macan GTS. Not a fan of the single light strip at the back. I am sure it will eventually grow on me.
Really nice review. I absolutely adore all the buttons in my 2021 Turbo. Your exhaust note sounds a little more sporty than mine outside the gear change. The 18 way seats are incredible and like nothing I've experienced before. Your GTS gives me brake envy. I love my PSCB but they're still not PCCB. Thanks for the video.
It's weird how many manufacturers are going to a 3.0 turbo V6 as their "normal" engine, and a 2.9 turbo V6 as their performance engine. I guess we're in an age where turbo pressure can be controlled so well that displacement doesn't matter as much anymore; you can just push in more psi's.
Another amazing review of arguably the coolest model in the Macan lineup. Lookswise, it beats the Turbo. And the Gen 1 Models keep their value much better than the Turbos. Tough decision to make. 😎
In the US PASM w/air is standard. Additionally, the video footage you showed while it may not be of the car you were driving was equipped with the PASM w/Air. Was this an overlook Henry or does the Macan GTS in the UK not come standard with Air?
Was this a press day for the media? Suddenly there are a host of video reviews of the GTS and they’re all in Portugal. What does it sound like at start up?
I need the thermally and noise insulated glass in the #Porsche 718. The turbo S for the Macao really doesn’t costs much more than the GTS so which do I get?
Great review. Porsche have done a cracking job with the Macan, it does drive surprisingly almost stunningly well for a big car. As a Cayman S owner for 14 years now if I could justify the extra £££ (substantial 😕) I'd swap it and the daily driver Merc for one
Henry talked that the car had only a standard steel suspension. The GTS should have adaptive suspension as standard. The footage shows a button with the air suspension - was it from a different car?
In my limited experience as a Porsche owner, noise was a problem: I wanted a touring sporty car. I wanted to listen to good music on long drives over unchallenging high speed motorways. Having never chased horsepower (being content with 'adequate'), I was concentrated on reasonable ride and superior road holding on the twisty bits.
The current darling of the motoring journalist anti-SUV brigade is the Audi RS6 which actually has an unladen weight greater than the Macan. However, said scribblers are obsessed with the weight of SUV’s but not estate cars which not so many years ago were rather sniffly referred to as the wheels of choice for Antique Dealers and Travelling Salesmen. New GTS looks good but I’ll stick with my S Diesel and ride the torque.
Porsche make a wagon. One wagon is enough even though a smaller wagon would be nice. The wagon market has been on the decline since the growth on suv. Another 5 year later maybe but cars will be electric and plug in with decent ish range by then
I understand people buy lots of SUVs, but almost any job people want an suv for (terrain worse than a gravel road excluded) could be done better by a wagon or van.
@@decdeclanlan agree 100% but people are not buying suv for work. Suv are generally smaller(length) which is more practical and better in Europe, America has a pickup culture and asia is a pickup/ suv. Task would have been a more apt word for what I meant than job. Length wise a VW Caddy SWB can fit seven seats in a marginally shorter length than a Tiguan can fit five.
What I don't get is why the Taycan does use a touchscreen for basic controls unlike the rest of its lineup. Same as the VW ID, and the Mazda EV. For some reason, every automaker has decided that an EV needs touchscreens for anything. It makes no sense and it has to stop.
I don't understand why you would make the rear wiper assembly that much more complicated by putting the button for the hatch at the base of where the wiper arm attaches. We've already figured this placement out. Put the button between the license plate lights where the overhang is just like every other sane manufacturer, or where the grab handle for the hatch is.

And maybe it will sounds better if the US models come without the GPFs, anyway.
