So although this video is 5 months old I thought I'd share my story. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 2022. I couldn't lose weight no matter how hard I was trying. Had gotten to a point I was practically starving myself. I had never been 170lbs in my life. I eventually spoke to my doctor she had me keep a food journal and I ended up taking saxenda in March of 2023. I was on the medication for 6 months and ended at 134!. Long story short it's been 11 months and I'm down to 125, I'm not trying to lose more weight just trying to maintain at this point. I think I was looking for another person that took the saxenda journey because you see so many stories of people gaining the weight back so its always in the back of my mind but a year later and keeping the weight off I'm gonna buy myself new clothes lol. Thank you for sharing your experiences!
hello from istanbul, would you please give your advice to me; ı have hypotroidi, high ınsulin hormone and insulin resistence; ı started saxenda at 16 august 2024 with 0.6 dose, ı'm doing sport, obey the rules of my diet list who has given to me by dietician..ı havent loose weight yet..ı started to use it at 6pm...then after the dose 1.2 ı started to use today at 8.a.m..what is my wrong? best wishes
@@yaseminozgiray7620 it's only been 11 days. I didn't loose a lot of weight all at once like some people did/do and that could be due to having a thyroid issue. Not sure what your diet or workout activity is like but a few tips that actually worked for me was limiting my calories intake to 1400 a day I use the Mediterranean diet. I limit my sugars I take in. I love bread but that turns to sugar so keto bread has satiated that craving. I really like the atkins endulge treats most only have 1 or 2 grams of sugar. I do not drink my calories for the most part. I workout 5 days a week 230 to 250 minutes a week. Keep it low impact to start, take a walk lift light weights or yoga there's lots of videos you can stream or watch on UA-cam. Try not to get discouraged you got this!
Thanks for the update! Just purchased the book and can't wait to read it - my struggle is the same and hope this will help me figure it out! I wish you continued success in your weight loss journey but think you look great at the weight you are at now!
I was given an advice to stop saxenda every 2-3 months then restarting on lowest dosage again and it really worked for me ( made my body take a rest and also made me save money)
I am really having a hard time with my weight.I have cancer and my doctor has me on steroids as part of my chemotherapy to help with side effects .They have their on side effects ,driving my Suger up ,making me hungry, and making me gain weight.before I got sick I was dieting and exercising and taking a weight lose medicine and lose 85 pounds. Now I am finding so hard to eat healthy and not give in to what I really want to eat.I understand that is not what I should worry about and my cancer is more important but I worked so hard before it makes me sad .I think you are beautiful anyway but what is important is that you are happy with yourself and healthy,I wish you luck in meeting your desired weight.❤🙏
I do not know the full story but there are stories of people caught up in binge-restrict cycle and regaining the weight they lost over several years. For some people cought up in this cycle intuitive eating also works, when you give themselves permission to stop restricting and eat whatever they want whenever while working on their mental health and emotions behind their eating disorder/food addiction
I’ve been stuck at a weight since a medication caused weight gain I talked to my doctor about a weight loss medication but I “don’t weigh enough” to do it (the bmi bull they still say) which is absolute crap because I’ve done all of the correct things to lose weight and it’s been so hard for me
How tall are you, and what do you weigh, if you don't mind sharing? I'm 168cm tall and weighed 73kg. I've always been active and healthy and for my whole adulthood (im 31) weighed 55-60kgs until I took antidepressants and gained 20kgs. I also didn't qualify even though my bmi of 26 put me in the overweight category. Ideally, I'd like to hit 60kgs, which would put me in a normal weight range. I saw one female Dr who was really rude and dismissive. I told her I'd tried everything to lose weight for over a year after gaining weight from meds and that I'd been able to lose 7 kgs, but my weight would still yo yo. I also would find it hard to be in a caloric deficit due to always feeling hungry and snacking a lot. I asked her if I could go on saxenda and she looked at me as if I was crazy. She even lied to me and told me it was not a weightloss drug, that it was strictly for diabetics and that there was currently a worldwide shortage, none of which is true. I'm in Australia btw. She said yes, you are in the overweight range according to your bmi, but you look totally fine to me and said to do a blood test and called it a day. I then went to the pharmacy to ask for their advice on how I could get on sax and they also said no dr will prescribe it to you, you look fine. So I went on an Australian saxenda fb group and asked if anyone knew any drs who would prescribe it to me within my "lower yet overweight" weight range. Maybe something you could try in your region? I saw a new Dr that someone in the sax group recommended. He was a great Dr and totally willing to prescribe it. He did say technically you aren't fat enough to qualify, but he was happy to give me a script for a short term. I've been on sax for 3 days and from day 1 my apetite has drastically decreased and I've lost 1kg. I eat keto in a caloric deficit and exercise for 1 hr every day. The side effects are a bit annoying, I feel a bit headachey, queasy and so tired like a heavy weight is on me. But it is bearable. I'd suggest to keep seeing different drs and tell them that you want to trial it short term or until you reach your desired weight? I know it's hard but don't give up, om really glad I'm on sax :) The best of luck to you!
Is Saxenda similar to ozempic or semaglutide? I just started semaglutide 2 weeks ago. So far no change in my weight whatsoever. But I'm just at the starter dosage, it's gonna go up next week. Did you have many side effects? I've noticed a lot of nausea, but that's about it.
