what DNA sample did you load? how did you extract it? was your DNA sheared or directly extracted and prepared? I am surprised of the nice distribution of long reads

is this device able to sequence a whole human genome?

The MiniON flowcell they used in theory should be able to sequence a full genome. Albeit with low coverage most probably, you would have to make two runs with different flowcells... i guess. Not sure how much disk space the device is able to handle either.

Do you think you were be able to do it?

@@Selahmescudi Maybe, but i dont have much experience. Is too expensive. 4.5k USD for the Mk1c, 600 USD for the sequecing kit, 1000 USD for the Minion Flowcell, lets say 200 USD for DNA extraction. And who knows how much for shipping costs. Is all about money

I dont see it much expensive, for an investment at least.
How much experience do you have on sequencing?
Could you sustitute the Mk1C for another device like a regular computer?
That DNA kit could be reusable?
About the DNA, could you somehow prepared yourself from a sample of human DNA?
Thank for all of this information, btw 😅
I need someone to guide me in developing an idea
