Very helpful. My husband just got one and keeps tearing the filter. Not very practical but I’ll have him watch your video or do it myself. I think I have a gentler touch. 😉
If it stops keeping hot check that the perc tube washer on bottom movers back and forth freely. If it doesn't clean it till it moves back and forth freely because they do not make parts for this like faberware does.
How much is a cup in ounces? The European standard is 5 ounces, not the baker's 8 ounces. Anyone measured by weight or measuring cup against the pot's markings? I downloaded the manual they punted to the markings for water and the tank markings for coffee.
I got one of these about two months ago and I feel like it was working great until about two weeks ago. Now it is weak every time. I keep it clean. Not sure if the machine is defective or what
Hey take the fill tube out of pot hold with towel and see if the washer at bottom of tube moves back and forth if it does not it is stuck, clean it until it moves freely. This is what the manual says to do. Also you can put some dish washer soap in it and run a cycle. Their website has a manual you can download.
No, filters are optional with percolators. If you grind your own coffee and can make a coarser grind, you can brew without a filter. You will get some grinds in the coffee, so I just do not drink the last bit that is in the cup. Also, perked has more caffeine per cup so be aware of that.
I own one. The interior is all stainless steel except the very middle heating spot (where the stem goes) which is aluminum. The lid handle is plastic but does not touch the water at any point. It is entirely metal where the water is.
Does the water touch the aluminum part? I would consider this to avoid plastic. But, aluminum will also leach toxic substances into boiling water as well :/
This neat device kept me alive during college
I wouldn't have believed this would work with the grounds packed inside paper like that -- clearly I'm wrong :D Love the music track too 👍
Thanks for checking out the video! This track is called "Baeb Steps" in case you're interested.
@@CounterClutter thanks very much I might use this in future, it's such a cool track
Percolator coffee is the best! Thanx for the video, very satisfying to watch and listen to.
Agree! Makes some of the more hotter cups, glad you enjoyed!
This was super helpful.

I have one of these. They work great!
do you need to use filters?
Awesome video! Thx! I came here to see if you have to unplug it to turn it off and I see you do.
Very good video why would you use white bleached filters instead of the brown ones
i used this to make salvia tea 10/10 will use again
Hello, I have a Presto 12 Cup perculator. The coffee bag says to use 2 tbsps per cup. I notice that the coffee is either too strong or weak.
Why do I keep getting grounds in my coffee?
Nice. Great sound
I'm torn between this one and the Farberware. Did you have a favorite?
How did it taste?
That was very helpful. Thank you
Is it necessary for the paper filters?
I don’t filters in mine there’s no need, the coffee taste even better if you use a coarse grind instead of regular.
Hey, you used Chock Full of Nuts! I haven't seen that brand since I was a kid! (late '80s-early '90s.)
Thank youuuu❤

Do you have to unplug it after each use?
Yes
This seems to be the only electric percolator that requires a paper filter inside the basket or it won't work right.

? when done it’s brew do i un plug it and it will stay hot for a long time...or will it shut off automatically

@@precious9155 Thank you for your feed back very helpful. of course after reading my reach out for I'm so lol. Again thanks for being kind😇
It will not shut off automatically so be careful.

This thing is great. I put a reusable mesh filter in it and it works great! Stiff hot coffee.
