Most percolators are meant to use a coarser ground of coffee than what most pre-packaged coffee is ground to today. Companies used to make different grinds for different types of coffee makers but nowadays they all just about only have the finer ground meant for drip coffee makers. Personally I don't mind a few grounds in a cup as to me it still tastes better than drip coffee.
I wonder if the weight of the unit, and the thinness of the metal, was a factor in its production. I have a Hamilton Beach 12 cup model, and when making a full pot, that thing is a tank. I have some pretty painful arthritis in both hands, and I mostly use a smaller french press unit, as it's so much lighter to handle...
I have the Cuisinart percolator. It makes darn good hot coffee. As you referenced, it would be nice if the steel was a little thicker and had a glass top. I don’t think it has any effect on the outcome though. I buy whole beans from a local roaster and grind them in my Baratza Encore grinder on setting 24 and use the Melita percolator filters.
Thanks for watching! Just purchased a Bodum french press set not to long ago, may do a video on that next. Been wanting to get some pour over pots as well.
Thank you for this great review! It really helped make a decision to buy my first percolator! Wish you compared it to the HB or the Faberware and said which was your favorite! 😊🙏
What I would like to know, is, does the coffee stay hot as long as you have the pot plugged in? My current percolator sits on a base with the cord attached to it and it shuts off after 2 hours and it may take me 3 hours to finish off a pot of coffee.
I’m thinking of going back to this style and found your videos! So thank you for making them. That being said, which do you recommend? As you described the thin metal and plastic knob, this would seem looking for one a little more beefy
I'd go with the Farberware model as it is a bit better granted they don't make them like they used to as the saying goes. There is no plastic knob though. Thanks for checking out my vids!
Just to update the knob on the Farberware is plastic but the water does not perc into it so there is no contact with the plastic. Just noticed that this morning.
I need an electric perculator with a timer or strength changer basically. I bought a perculator, I think it was the Presto one and it doesnt brew long enough to make good coffee. It just gets to boil and stops brewing. It wont be good unless it brews it for a few minutes or so. I dont know whats wrong with all these perculators but Ive literally only seen like 1 decent one on the market, that has a timer, so I bought that one and love it. WTF though? GOd all these other ones suck, or I dont know what Im doing wrong then.
@@dailydrew3879 Interesting. I found imagoo brand is the best brand, has a timer and all that to get perfect strong coffee. Ice is a good idea however.
Never tried but it might not operate well using that small amount of water. The least amount marked on the pot is 6 cups. To add, check out the smaller Presto model which offers 2 cup brewing: ua-cam.com/video/w20gord7YnE/v-deo.html
I have one the only thing I hate about it is when you pour it it spills everywhere when you have it at 12 cups I have it below 12 cups and it still spills when you pour it. It’s a shitty design.
Holy crap, I really hate it when people slurps there drinks. There is no reason for ANYONE to slurp there coffee. It is rude and sounds like a pig eating and drinking.

Which of the perculator models do you recommend? I am look for an "ALL" stainless steel version with no plastic. Don't mind a "glass" knob on the lid.
THAT COFFE YOU POURED WEEK WEEK WEEK. NEEDS TO LOT STRONGER

Ok thanks! It’s a coin flip at this point between this and the Coletti Bozeman.

Add a good handful of ice to the unit with your water before brewing. Makes it brew longer. Hope thus helps...

Nice coffee maker. Thank you.
How many spoons did you use per cup in your percolator? That’s what I wanna know.
1 tablespoon per cup
Thank you
Does the last cup or two produce more coffee grinds when pouring or remain the same?
You do get more material in the last cup or so, but it is a small amount. Using paper filters helps reduce that.
Does the coffee maker turn off completely by itself after being on for a long period of time?
No, you have to manually unplug to turn off.
Can we make one or 2 cups of coffee

Good trick is to remove the grounds and basket and stem before pouring.
I liked it for a few weeks and then it shot craps...😂
$80!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is to OVERPRICED!
I think farberware is better
Oh no. You lost me when you put cream in your coffee. :(

Slurping makes it cooler to drink, he did say it was hot...
@@Popsqawle Really man, slurping does not cool down a drink. Slurping makes you look like a pig. But you stick to that story.

@@Popsqawle Sorry I do not need help but i can refer a few places that you can try out.
Maybe don’t watch that part of the video?
