Oh my goodness! I just found your channel when your summer fruit candy video popped up. I was so impressed with that video, I had to come watch this one! Your ideas and attention to detail are amazing! I so desperately want a freeze dryer so I can try all the amazing ideas I see! Bravo! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for explaining everything . I didn't know where to start, but you have given me the confidence. I purchased your recipe book, and I love it. ❤
WOW!WOW!WOW! I was thinking about investing in a freeze dryer and while doing research, I came across your vids and I am so glad I did! Is it wrong that the chocolate videos may have clinched it? 😄 thanks for all your hard work, John!
I wonder if putting the cheesecake filling in a large ziplock bag and then cutting off the corner, would allow you to squeeze the proper amount in each mold cavity. You could pick up the tray the mold sits on and bang it on the counter a couple times to settle it and get out the air bubbles.
For the coffee ones that you did first. I wonder if you melted the Cool Whip before putting it in the trays if that would prevent it from floating up once you add the coffee. I'm thinking it's the fact that the Cool Whip is whipped that it must have quite a bit of air within it, causing it to float up.

This is awesome I also love the strawberry video. The big question if I wanted to wells this what would be the storage recommendation and also how long will they last. Ty😊
I stored mine in the refrigerator for several weeks in a sealed container. Really depending on the quality of your dipping chocolate and how well you cover the centers with chocolate is a great factor. You shouldn't have any problems for a few weeks similar to normal chocolate candy. It can start to blossom in the fridge but mine didn't after several weeks
Thank you. I was trying to solve that because chocolate if I understand correctly doesn’t have any water so I would assume that the choc would not rehydrate them. Please tell me if a could be wrong. And what if they aren’t refrigerated?
The chocolate does not affect the filling. In cool weather and good quality/tempered chocolate you shouldn't have a problem. The only problem is the melting chocolate in warm conditions. In my opinion.
New subscriber to your channel. I have most of the hard stuff out of the way in my prepping repertoire now for the really good stuff. Love your creativity!
John.... you are SO prolific in your many creative recipes & sharing how you go through every step!! I'm a newbie FD'er & REALLY appreciate all your wonderful videos! Thank you!!
So if you were going to sell these, would you shrink wrap the box? Would you put a desiccant or oxygen absorber inside? I’m ordering a XL freeze dryer soon to aid in my retirement funds and these would be great to sell but I want to make sure they stay fresh if they aren’t sold right away.
Sorry, I have no knowledge or advise to give for selling as I have never sold any of my creations. I should imagine there are many hoops to jump through to sell to the public.
Question ... Why do you keep in refrigerator ? If freeze dried shouldn't you be able to leave at room temp. I would like to give as gifts , but would need to be room temp.
On this one I used the 18262 address label (picked up at walmart) On the fruit one I used the 1 inch clear circle but I didn't like them that much because it created too much waste and jamming in my printer.
If you have a heating pad, put it on low and set the bowl of melted chocolate on the heating pad. It helps keep the chocolate liquidy while you are dipping your larger batches.
According to HR you can. But I wouldn't for two reasons. 1 it will take longer to freeze dry and 2 the squares can be very delicate, if you remove after freeze drying the could crumble trying to get them out of the mold
I really love these and went crazy ordering meltables from Michaels. So, i love lemon and ordered some of those. But now, i can't figure out how to pair them. Maybe the cheesecake recipe? Maybe blueberries?? Give me a hint, John!! Love all these - thanks!!
I forgot all about your milky coffee, and all of these other older treats! I am so glad you did this, if nothing else, for the reminder of these.... and everything is better dipped in chocolate 😉
You have the most creative recipes of anyone out there doing Freeze Dryer videos. Well done!

Of course we shouldn't forget our food storage but I have to admit I enjoy creating snacks very much!

That's how I do it. Less waste/mess.
Try adding an almond in there
That looks great!!! I will be trying this. Doing watermelon rk and it is amazing!!!
Did watermelon last week and is now my favorite snack.
@@dartagnantaft5918 I love it and the freeze dried peaches....are an issue LOL!
Love watermelon 🍉

that might work
Coming in late for this video. Great ideas. Where did you get your candy boxes/trays? Do you have a link you can share?

Looks great I think I need to come to your house
😆 lol 😆
I bet if you chilled your coffee mixture the whipped cream would stay stuck to the bottom.
That sounds like it would work!

How many hours did it take in the freeze dryer?
What molds are you using? I don't see any in the link above that are 5x12 like yours. Thanks!
They are the ones that Harvest Right sells
@@JohnInBibs I have the brown ones but they are larger. I like yours and I am going to have to get some.
John, what would happen if you left them in the molds and put them in the dehydrator?
They would most likely crumble or fall apart trying to get them out of the molds
It's never too much chocolate dipped stuff John! Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve next!
I agree
@@JohnInBibs I just bought a harvest Right freeze dryer. I have been binge watching your videos. Thank for your informative and detailed!!

Chocolate melts in a hot house
John, would you mind telling me what avery labels you used to identify candy on back of box.
Thanks

Great tip
👍👍👍👍👍
Would cappuccino work for the recipe as well?
Don't see why not
I make peanut butter balls every year, would you be able to freeze dry them and then dip them?
How do you make peanut butter balls? Peanut butter doesn't freeze dry on its own but sometimes you can add it as an ingredient
❤ your taste tests are so cute … it puts a big smile on my face listening to you
You are so kind
I love your creativity
Thanks
Wonder if you can leave them in their molds and put in the freeze dryer? I don't know, do you?
