I Bought This Notebook To Unf*ck My Life

- I spent the last 30 days journaling to see if it could really help me get my life together. From doom scrolling and procrastinating,I needed a reset and to get off my phone. So I bought a notebook to help me step by step get my life back on track. In this video, I talk about the pros and cons like why it feels weird to journal in public, and how it made me feel authentic again along with the benefits of doing a digital detox. i also developed mental clarity, motivation/self discipline and i broke bad habits. i recommend buying a notebook :)
Finally posting. I just wanted to post anything to get back on track. hope you enjoyed :)

i've learned that in order to experience life in its fullest, you have to give up the idea of "cringe." it can be hard, but i've experienced my greatest moments of joy and improvement when i decided to stop caring about the meanless ridicule those less happier than you tend to throw your way.
Hei, thank you so much for imparting this message. I'm currently trying to fix my life, restart from the beginning. One of the things that is hard to ditch during this journey is my perfectionism. Your comment hits me so much to let my perfectionism aside by being "cringe".
Thank you for this comment ❤️ sometimes i just have to remind myself to think this way.
I think I might be broken. I have no qualms busting out my journal or sketchbook in public and had never thought twice about it before, but now you have made me wonder if everyone in the coffee shop thinks I am a weirdo 😅
In the coffee shop? Hell, no! Don't coffee shops come with a journal mandate? ;)
Nope you're not broken. Before smart phones we read books and wrote in notebooks anywhere we wanted to, without fear of who might be judging us. I'm likely never going to run into any of those people again, so why care about what they think?
They are more likely to be jealous of your carefree nature, being scared to do it themselves. Cafes and other public places are a great place to relax if you like the background noise of other people moving about with their lives ❤
Not broken. I’ve never thought twice about it either; I think it comes down more to whether or not you’ve learned to judge that behaviour (e.g. think it’s ”cringe”). That has to be unlearned for some, but many of us never picked up that judgement in the first place
If you are broken for this, then I am just as broken.
Coffee shop, waiting rooms of hospital or even trains. I'll happily bust that (in my case BuJo (Bullet Journal)) journal out and write or doodle😂
love this!! in this age of multiple distractions and a speeding sense of time, a notebook really helps you to pause and observe more.
At age 54, I commend you for the wise actions you’ve taken to find yourself and discover your motivations and passions. These are skills that I still use today as age brings wisdom but the underlying undulations of our lives continue. Goal setting, planning, and self reflection and awareness has made we wealthy, healthy, and more in touch with how to solve the internal and external challenges of life. Play on sister…play on.
🥰
Funny I've always had a notebook or sketchbook out in public and i love it when people look. Usually its with curiosity and like "wow Id like to try that". Its been very rare ive had even a bad look and even then i just think its funny. Like "oh no im writing on paper and you dont approve. Whatever will I do?" lol makes me feel like a rebel
around 2:44 your voice over goes from both ears to just the right when listening to this in headphones x
@@za-adra thank you i’ll take note for next video :)
This video is so greatly edited!! Love watching this
Agree 😊
embrace cringe. do cringe.
Now get yourself a fountain pen! For starters, I can recommend a Lamy Safari, Kaweco Sport, TWSBI Eco. So many people journal and urban sketch. There are tons of communities. Be you and do your thing. Don’t be one of many.
@@queenbuzybee4074 thanks for the recommendations :)
This is a good video! I will say, the mis-edit with mono sound through the right headphone in all voice overs is really jarring, but it's still watchable. Just something to keep in mind! :)
Absolutely love this video. I could listen to your thoughts process and strategy all day as I relate to you. Keep up and I would love to see more content from you. I'm subscribing right away ! 🌷
Not me agreeing to everything while nodding at a screen. Love the content. Instant sub :)
I deleted Facebook, Instagram and all social media and my productivity shot up. Did for 30 days and man. Now I'm back in that rut so easily.
Dude, this video is incredibly well-edited and super engaging. You really have an eye for video making. I can definitely see myself coming back to it whenever I need a little inspiration. Hopefully you are keeping up with it all!
Great effort with this. Good storytelling.
@@lightninglaur3n thank you :)
Hello from America, Audrey! I'm old enough to be your Dad (and maybe even your Granddad), but I've recently come to many of the same conclusions you have. I'm trying to wean myself away from digital devices by using pen and paper to take notes and keep a journal. Keep using your notebook to get your life back on track and plan to do the things that YOU want to do, not the ones that everyone else says you should do. Do the things that make you genuinely happy. Keep playing piano and making flower arrangements, if that's what you want to do. If "Fear of Missing Out" (FOMO) hits, just think of it this way: It's not that you are missing out on the cool stuff your friends are doing--it's that THEY are missing out on the cool stuff YOU are doing! The description for your channel says, "I'm not an expert." I'll let you in on a little secret: No one is. We're all trying to make our way through life, trying to figure out what works for us. I'm glad you've found something that works for you. Keep doing it! Cheers!
@@NiallMor hi thank you for the comment it’s a very good way to put things :)
How long does your phone last? a few years if you're lucky. Pen and paper from eons ago still exists. Think about that
You are being very vague
Talk about a wake up call!! Amazing simple and to the point video! My 30 days starts now!! 🤞🏻🙏🏼👏🏻👏🏻 thanks!!!!
That was brilliant and useful. I journal, not in public though, but I’m still scrolling :( I have more work to do!
I always wanted to learn piano and guess what i scroll my entire day on phone and fool myself saying I don't have enough time to learn it.
I’ve been journaling, off and on, for over… 40 years! 😮 When I got back into it in my mid-20s, it was jarring at first, but my life became much more peaceful and enjoyable. And while it’s hard not to after a while, collecting journals and pens (or other things to journal with like watercolors, washi tape, etc) can become a form of procrastination…
😅
Good for you! Focus on things that bring you joy. Need to have things going on that bring more dopamine than your phone
Yo this is an artist masterpiece
@@hactrixed7405 thank you:)
I'd like to compliment you on your wisdom. You've really struggled yourself out of the digital stranglehold and too many people of your age don't even realise their lives are being controlled by doomscrolling and the negative bias. Even for me - with quite a bit more life experience than you - you are an example
Really motivating video, high quality work, thank you 🙏
Quality Video, Love it~
Having to follow the "trend" will always lead to the fxcked up life.
This is really motivating
5:14 Haha the black square
That’s such a good videooo!!
Wow I love how many views thise got. Hope it gets even more 😊
Great content! Cant wait for more !
Cool editing
the plant from cover photo, though
the only bad thing about this video is that the sound is only in the right earphone
You did great.
Wow it works!
My headphones are broken on one ear so i had to spend most of the videos reading what she's saying XD
@@Y.F. my bad 😣
It's a great video. I think I'll try too that too :)
I've just subscribed so you better post new view soon :)
dude pls fix your audio from only right ear
loved the video tho
@@Mr.Tryingtobeproductive 😭will do. i switched mics throughout this video so it messed it up a little aha
Bruh why are you speaking in my right ear only
anyone care to share the link to the Ted Talk video she mentioned?
❤
please, please. PLEASE. Edit the video with headphones. Why? Because there are two sound channels, right and left. Right now I'm watching a video from a laptop with headphones and I listen to your voice with my right ear, and the background music with my left. And all the efforts on editing, pictures and an interesting topic go to waste, because of the annoying sound. But the topic is interesting, thank you
its a really great video
but i think you need to work a little on the sound editing. its very unbalanced.
@@PiyushKrRai thank you and yeah i’ll fix that next video :)
Great 👍
what where you playing at 6:45 ?
