Thanks Gemma always interested in how others stitch. I’m short also so I not only have 2 cushions behind me I sit on 2 cushions. I’m unable to raise our couch because it has recliners on each end so I ha a lap stand on a adjustable TV tray to bring it to the right height. I have not found it comfortable to put the stand in my lap because I have a clip on magnifying glass and its tips all the time. I can’t hold anything but a 8 x 11 qsnap on it which is very annoying.
As requested, showing you my stitching set-up and what equipment I use. As I mentioned in the video, I followed this tutorial to be able to get the Google Play store installed on my Fire tablet so that I could use Pattern Keeper. Very simple, it took me less than 10 minutes to get it working, and I'm not the most tech-savvy person! www.howtogeek.com/232726/how-... You’re not the first one to ask! 😄 I made a video a while back showing how I use the ruler to keep it from rolling ua-cam.com/video/psLe5lI_ypM/v-deo.htmlsi=VP0cB3wZ56yN3F1K
I pretty much only use it to hold my tablet now as I rarely read paper books anymore. I’m spoiled by e-readers where you can make the font bigger. But it was originally designed to hold a paperback book open so you don’t need to hold it open in your hand. The plastic clamp parts went over the pages to hold it open
They are called button magnets, you can find them at most office supply stores. I got a few free with a whiteboard and liked them so much I bought more. I have a regular flat round magnet on the back of my work and the button magnet on the top You can also order them here (they ship internationally if you aren’t in Canada) www.staples.ca/products/382835-en-staples-coloured-button-magnets-fashion-colours-30-pack
Thank you for sharing that! I love how resourceful you are. A person can stitch without an elaborate set up!
Thank you Gemma for sharing ❤

I'm curious to know what the clear plastic clamp around your Kindle Fire is for as it looks like the Kindle has a stand of its own.
It is actually a paperback book stand
What do you use it for?
I pretty much only use it to hold my tablet now as I rarely read paper books anymore. I’m spoiled by e-readers where you can make the font bigger.

@@gemmastitches You are a woman after my own heart as I love to find other uses for some of the tools or gadgets that I own; wooden rulers included!
What do you call those magnets that you use on the canvas to hold needles/ thread your not stitching with, and where can you get them?
