I wasnt aware what a JX3 cost. Just looked it up after reading your comment. 😂 In Reuben's defense, he already had the JX3 and really didn't use it last year so this modification was really his attempt to make it work for him instead of letting it collect dust on the shelf.
@@bischoff6981 I mean to be fair he could have got on saddlehunter.com, listed it in the classified and got 95% of his money back. I actually made money off of a tethrd mantis setup I bought on that site.
@@ghost38901 You are probably right. Reuben definitely sees the benefits of saddle hunting so if this gets him back in the saddle and out of the tree stand, it's probably worth the time and effort to him. I guess we will see with how much he uses it this year.
@@bischoff6981 oh don't get me wrong. I'm right there with him. I have a jx3, I use a drt climbing rig and I absolutely love it. I want to try the new tethrd climbing sticks as well but I just can't spend 120$ for one stick
@@ghost38901 Those tethrd sticks look incredible but no way I'm spending that much. You can tell they put some thought into them. I'm happy with my Muddy sticks and wire rope aiders for now though. Very pleased with how they pack with my saddle platform. The big thing for me is how does the whole package integrate together, platform, gear pack, and sticks.
Hey man great video! I’m looking into this setup but being around 330 pounds I’m wondering how it felt sitting in it? Feel like it could hold up for us hefty fellas? Lol
Reuben has hunted out of it quite a bit this year. Its comfortable but he has issues shooting his recurve out of it. Works great with his compound. He also got another saddle this season. We will do another video in a month or so that discusses big guy saddle options. Reuben has some thoughts to share.
@@bischoff6981 thanks man. One last thing, what are the pros and cons to the RST method? Seems a lot easier and less gear to hail in since you don’t need sticks. But i was wondering if there’s any draw backs to the technique.
