    OP's FIL has been resentful of the MIL for so long over how she talked him out of that business idea, but he buried his feelings as staying together was what was good for his son. When he saw that his shitty wife was going to actually be toxic to his son's marriage, he finally snapped. He spent so long being miserable for the sake of his family and then saw his wife tear it apart.

      Facts. Went to school with a girl with a nut allergy. She ate a muffin that had traces of nuts in it (there weren't any nut muffins, but the bakery used nuts in other muffins) and she forgot her epi pen in her locker, so her friend had to race to her locker to get it. I'm severely allergic to coconut. My husband, then bf, always snatched food from me to read the ingredients to make sure I was safe, and when he himself ate coconut, he wouldn't kiss me until he had thoroughly washed his mouth out. Once, his mother gave me something to drink and I did, he was away at the time. Turns out it was coconut water based and I did end up in the hospital, and he went off on his mother because both him and I told her about my allergy. She ad.itted she forgot and also had thought it was fake bc the allergy was ridiculous, but now that she saw me almost die from it she was sorry. She paid my medical bills and didn't reach out to her son till he did first, and then she apologized again. Currently hubby is on ok terms, but he's never forgiven his mother for that. I have though, I do agree that most people dismiss my allergy sometimes because it is ridiculous to people who've never heard of it before. And it may not even be a coconut allergy, just something coconut has in it that I'm allergic to, but I've labeled it as a coconut allergy for now.

      People without allergies always think ANY allergy is fake. These are the same people that think anyone with a cane is faking it if they aren't old, anyone in a wheelchair is faking it unless they are missing a leg, and they never believe people are blind, mute, or deaf either.
      I am allergic to the sap in grass. After someone mows the yard I have to stay inside for the rest of the day as the faint mist in the air from a lawn mower cutting grass will give me a rash. My mother is allergic to TREES. Tree pollen is hell on her, it is mild but still it makes her miserable. She is also allergic to peanuts and a few other things. I have a bad nut allergy that could turn dangerous for me, but also I could imagine that if I got a bite of cake like that I might be able to wipe it out with a napkin if I'm fast, and only have some of my normal reaction. It would probably lead to swelling mouth and an asthma attack, and I'd have to take like 4 benadryls and use my asthma inhaler, and be absolutely miserable for a day or so, but I might be fine enough not to need a hospital. There are for sure a lot of folks who couldn't survive that without an epipen and a hospital trip, but people with an allergy at about the level in this video are around too, so it might not be fake

Anyway, at that time my BIL and I told her that if she wanted a baby so much she should adopt one and she shouldn't have been so insistent to our younger selves about how we should be careful (something I don't condemn. It seems the most responsible thing a parent can say to their adolescent children). Now my younger BIL is having a baby with a girl we barely know and MIL is not so happy about it. There's been a few I've seen that are the exact same movements but different shaders. I assume something with the replay mod and rerecording it made it a bit floaty. Some people are able to consume small amounts of peanut safely (like a few mg), usually the more processed a product it is the less likely it is to inflame an allergy. We don't know the severity of her allergies or the ingredients. Many recipes of chocolate pb cake requires about 30 grams of pb and a batch is usually 700 grams (like 5% pb). It's reasonable to believe that a person with a moderate allergy can handle contact with and allergen but not consumption
      There's some fascinating literature about allergies

      As with all kinds of allergies they vary from person to person. I've heard of people who literally can't even smell peanut butter or they have trouble breathing. Then others are okay as long as they don't eat it. Also, people as they age can have less of a reaction, or on the flip side it can get worse. Everyone is different.

      @@ahhh4117 I'm not allergic to peanuts but I'm allergic to nickel and peanut has a huge amount of it (also, tomato and strawberries). Anyway, I can eat some peanuts, like a Snickers bar but if I eat too many natural peanuts my face gets a rash. My dad is allergic to shrimps and he used to eat or eat contaminated food and got a small rash until one time he had an anaphylactic reaction. This shrimp journey took him like 50 years to turn into a severe reaction but doctors warned him that it would eventually happen.

    • @Linaelinaeya
      @Linaelinaeya 2 місяці тому

      People witness very life threatening allergies pretty rarely. It mostly just some loose motion, skin bruising, patches, blushing, runny nose, itching and all small stuff they assume. And people with allergies don’t usually say if it’s deadly out-loud, because it’s a threat to themselves.
      So many people are unaware I assume. And there are people who have the allergy themselves and they are not aware of the nature themselves. Some allergies are very mild that you don’t even acknowledge it. Some are moderate and you take some allergy meds and you are fine with exposing yourself. Some are so severe just as soon as you are exposed you might have respiratory failure, cardiac arrest or so on. And there are some each and every time you are exposed to the allergen your reaction will worsen to the point, the next time it might kill you within seconds.
      So yea, people might be misinformed about allergies.

    As someone who is allergic to peanuts, spitting it out and wiping out the mouth is not enough to stop a reaction to such a cake. Anyone with that type of allergy would use their epipen and go to the ER because anaphylactic shock can kill you fast. It's astonishing to me that someone with such an allergic could grab cake and smash anyone with it. Sorry but I'm not buying this story.
