PluginIndia team was at Auto Expo 2023. At the TATA Motors stall, AMIT Gupta our host at PluginIndia spoke with Mr. R.K. Singh who is the head of Business operation at TATA Power.
PluginIndia community has expressed their concerns over the charging their NEXON EVs. There are a number of Charging stations being setup but not all are functional and working. We grilled TATA Power for their response over the same.

Network issue is biggest concern for EV owners.
When there is power and still can not charge EV.

Need to work on servers,.. as they are very unreliable lately... May be more consumers so more traffic... Its takes lot of time to connect to server

Indian Railways trains operate on electric traction all India without any issues but for our EV chargers we get all these stories. That is the simple truth.

Call center is not useful.
They are asking to move towards another charging point.
There's no issues in network coverage
There was no power outage
The Charging Station was showing Status as available, still i was not able to charge.

Don’t bluff, most Tata power chargers are not in working condition
Check your charger at Petrol pump on “Express way” from Mumbai to Pune. Are they working ?????
Check charger at your dealership in Thane “Heritage Motors”… are they in working condition ???
Don’t spoil TATA’s name and work on improving your charging facilities and systems
We depend on other private companies for getting our vehicle charged

I have an issue with their home installation also. Tata Motors should not hand over a monopoly to Tata Power for this part of the EV experience.

We wasted. 5 weeks trying for Tata charger in our bldg complex in Mumbai. Adani did it 2 weeks flat

By far worst charging service from all the available CPE , in Mumbai and suburbs, only 40% chargers work, half of them they just remove from app while charger is physically present at locations, few dealers just switch it off saying it gets crowded so we have disabled chargers, very bad and most unreliable Charge point operator

Tata charger are like
Power is on but no network
Network is on but no power
Network + power are present but charge point blocked by non EV vehicles

Plug-in india must ask some pointed questions to Tata Motors and Tata power executives
We want EV’s tobe future of mobility, Tata power is becoming the most/biggest hindrance

Most of the time tata power charger disappointed me ... I am using tigor EV from last one year & no support from tata power... You can ask any EV owner... Tata chargers are totally unreliable... Address this issue many time but no use... Now when ever I plan trip outside of city then I prefer other charger then tata...

For the sake of speaking on camera they will say all good at Tata Power , but ground reality is different...
EZ charge App need more improvement in terms of, real time availability , charger issue and resolution hacks with video tutorials.
Customer support should be connected via video call to demonstrate the issue in real time...
Dual network capable FC should be deployed on ground so switch over can happen in case network outage of one operator which is very rare these days...
