      Another thing if a customer says leave order at my door and then they answer the door not allowing us to take the picture they get mad because we have to take a picture as they asked us to do???? This makes absolutely no sense the customer himself or herself at that point are breaking there own delivery instructions and we as driver should be able to have a button that says the customer asked me to leave there order at there door but then where standing outside or in there door waiting they could very easily say we the driver didn’t follow delivery instructions even tho there the ones who didn’t give us the chance to do our jobs correctly as they asked this is another thing that makes absolutely zero sense and I don’t know why nobody is taking about these 2 topics

      I always try to go in if I don't see anybody cause I think it's quicker and the staff may be in the weeds or busy, so they appreciate your help!
      Plus I look at the restaurant staff as a team member , we are in this together!!😊

    I get upset when the customers are not considerate enough to leave their porch light on for dashers when it's black dark at night. Some of them just don't care.

    I get irritated that customers are able to lie on us, and we get no input into the situation that causes a negative mark against.

      I hear ya, sometimes it feels like it's "whoever gets there first". But as always document whatever you can as soon as things start going sideways. I've even seen drivers get deactivated and never really given a clear explanation unfortunately.

      document everything. if it's a hand it to me order I always take a picture of the address with timestamp camera and even the apartment or hotel number if it's inside a building. or if it's a hand it to me be very chatty with your customer once you reach the address. text them to let them know you're 5 mins away, then call when you arrive, even if you see them standing in the street waiting for you. even leave a voicemail about seeing them once you arrived. doordash can see and review all of this. I have never, ever, ever gotten a contract violation that stuck

      Oh, so like in healthcare but other staff, patients, managers, family, Drs, all lie on you, and RNs get no input into the situation that causes negative mark against,, Do yOu KnOw Why?!?
      Because you are being paid to make all those people happy somehow. If you can’t put up with it, if you can’t make those people want to leave you a positive review instead of a neg., well then you suck.
      I can’t do this at my job for less than 2600$ a week gross, a lot of that $ has to be non taxed or I can’t do it, it’s just not worth it. All these corporations want to pay us just enough to survive and that’s when customer service suffers. Who’s gonna work for free or even lose $ working? Happens all the time with inflation today. 😊

    My biggest complaint recently is they will keep sending you the same high mileage low paying order over and over again. Either forcing you to accept or drop your acceptance rate down More than once, I have been sent the same order. 15 miles out of the city for 4 times in a row in a matter of a few minutes.

      Decline the order and they shouldn't send it again. If you're letting the timer run out they will always send the crap order again.

      I feel like sometimes I would get that when I'm on a certain edge of a market so I would be the best driver to get it especially if it's heading even further out. Do you find that's the case?

      @@jesses1589 I was declining I have thousands of deliveries behind me this is the same person orders almost daily sometimes 3 times a day and no one takes it since it's in good traffic an hour run, so DD started recently spamming it to drivers, I called and complained for whatever good that did.

      I have about 4 thousand deliveries behind me and this is something DD recently started doing , it would be a one hour run in low traffic for 11.00 this is Seattle area going way out of the city over a bridge known for long backups, this guy orders daily and some days 3 or more times from different places, DD just recently started spamming it after rejecting and I try to keep my Top Dasher status above 80% but this always drops me so lately have been accepting then unassigning it and taking the kit on completion rate and that seems to stop it, seems like DD plots ways to force drivers into accepting low to no profit runs. @@YourDriverMike

    I had 99 percent acceptance rate. 4 years working and fixing my car for this business to just deactivate me with false or no reasoning. I don’t know what contract violation I did and still no call back after 4 weeks

    Never tell customers you have any other orders. They want to believe they are the only order you are handling. Let them believe it.

    Best way to prevent getting "order never arrived" is to do this at every stop ....
    Have a pre-prepared text saying "Hey there. I just wanted to let you know that I have arrived. Thank you so much." Then when you give the order to the customer send a "thank you" text message. It'll take a very specific type of person to get a message letting them know you are there and getting a thank you and then report it. Plus the Doordash people can look at the messages between you and the customer. This shows you arrived and thanked them. ESPECIALLY if the customer responds something like you're welcome. Or thank you. It'll be an open and shut case.
    I also go a step further and take a picture of the address. Just in case.

    If you get a hand it to me order, there is a place where you can message the customer and a place where you can click the camera just take a picture of them grabbing the food and send it to them and then hit confirm. 😂
    Works every time , you can actually see some people disappointed like they were going to say that they never got it, not on my watch

    I’ve done over 5,000 orders over the last 3 years, mostly for DD. Of late I’ve been delivering about 150 orders per month. For orders that were already picked up when I arrived, I would say I get about one a month. I make sure to call support to at least get half pay. Many times the person at the restaurant says I’m the 4th or 5th person trying to pick up the order. I can only guess that the previous few drivers would rather unassign themselves and move on to the next order than wait on the phone 5-10 minutes for the half pay.

      I've don't call them each time, I think I may've once or twice. I usually just tell the staff that the person they gave the food to stole the food and the customer never received the order, shifting the responsibility to them to contact Doordash or Uber Eats and to decide to remake the food and/or contact the customer to tell them what's up. I message the customer in the ap to tell them what happens, but I'm not sure if they can continue to see messages I send them if the order gets canceled or if they even know the reason I canceled the order; order already picked up, restaurant closed, excessive wait time, etc.

      Thing is, when they do that; makes it all the more difficult for Doordash to track and figure out who stole the order. You are doing the right thing!

      That’s exactly what happens they unassign and move on! Meanwhile I end up calling support to get $3 of pay 🤷🏽‍♀️ and so the order doesn’t keep getting reassigned!!

    yesterday was a horrible!!! i was doing a grocery shop, 48 items 2 40pk of water,2nd floor apt, i go up to the appt for first time, turn around and someone came to my car and took 3 bAGS AND RAN, i called the police and contacted dd, then i was on another order 2 gal milk and4 packs of soda, in the elevator and the milk carton explodes all over the elevator, i went home after that

    I never let the customer know negative info.. Other than "your order is still being made sorry for the delay, I will be on my way once I have it in hand".

    I had 9 violations at one point but never got deactivated. They were people mostly lying about never receiving the order.

    My acceptance rate is 1%… in Philadelphia seeing the same delivery 4 times straight. That’s crazy

    What I don’t like is that they can rate me at one star or two stars and I don’t see why my rating is that way or which customer it is… When I do everything I can to make sure they get quality deliveries. Let me know where I mess up, so I can correct it or get better…

      An explanation should be required! I almost think that bad reviews are connected to mistakes made by the restaurant, and if that is the case, it should not be considered by doordash towards our ratings. But either way, an explanation should be required for any reviews under 5 stars.

      Same thing for Uber Eats if they take your tip away. Like you said it should be a required explanation so I know why.

      @@TheStranger513 I call UE support and ask for "Drivers payment dept" and have always gotten my tip back. I tell them I took the job for the money offered and that is what I expect. Some support may give you the runaround, just be persistent or ask for supervisor. Also do it when you are not out delivering. You have I think one week, to dispute payments.

      @@AD88884 They give DD a reason but we don't get to see it. I have a few 1 or 2 stars that DD took away automatically without me asking.
      Look under ratings there is a exclamation (!) mark and for me it says 2 ratings excluded , you should have it to even if none were excluded at this point. anyway if you click the exclamation mark it gives some reasons why it was ratings get excluded. (Long merchant wait. merchant made mistake on order, customer fraud and order already late when offered) if it was anything other than those reasons they will not remove it automatically. You can call DD and ask and they may tell you, But I wouldn't sweat it, some people are just petty a zz holes and your rating will go back up. Now if you get lots of low ratings maybe time to switch the areas you dash in. .

    School kids that ask for their food to be handed to them during school hours. In the state of Georgia where I'm at it's against the law to deliver anything to a student, and Doordash doesn't really have a definitive policy for this. So what I do is I take it to the office and let the lady at the desk know. Every single time I get a bad review and there's nothing doordash customer service will do to stop it. The one time I gave food to a high school kid, they said it wasn't delivered and I got a contract violation. This is a serious problem that needs to be addressed.

      If the facility itself doesn't allow food orders to be handed over directly you can call support and have it noted. If its the policy of the school then the customer is the party responsible for requesting the order be dropped properly. If not it's a violation of your contract on the other party. File the complaint get fully compensation and dispose of food.

    I've been using Timestamp camera almost since I started dashing. I take a picture of the food in my hand at the location even if it's a "hand it to me" order. I take a picture of the drop off from a few feet back as well. I also don't hang around a drop off point, once the order is marked completed, I leave. Recently I had two customers, within about 3 hours of dashing, who tried to hit my for not dropping off their food. Nope, it didn't work. You can also record a short video with Timestamp camera of you walking away from the dropoff as well.
    I do all this because I had a customer hit me with a violation because they "didn't get their order". That was one of my first deliveries. I haven't had any issues since I started detailing my drops.

    I do LPO and once had a large catering order that the restaurant told me they could not fulfill because they did not have the staffing to complete it. It was around 6:30 PM. I advised the customer and called support and they cancelled the order. The half payout was $40. I wasn’t mad at all 😊

    I’m a new dasher. Just finished my first week. I always message the customer when I pick up the the order, and again when I arrive at the house. If it’s a “leave at my door “ order I just say “hi I’m here, the food is at your door. Thanks for choosing DoorDash and enjoy your meal “. As often as possible I try to make sure that the house number or some distinguishing thing about their porch is in the picture with the bags. I had one lady my second day try to say I delivered to the wrong house when the picture clearly showed the house number that matched what was on the order

    On all hand it to me orders I open the messages In the app I select the camera and take a pic. It sends it to the customer and DD and that has stopped the order has never arrived problems for me

    I just got a contract violation last week for food never arrived and it was a liquor & subway delivery to same customer. Needless to say it was required “hand it to me” transaction for ID verification and customer even commented that they were expecting another delivery besides the subway and vodka. Customer reported I did not deliver subway.

    I’ve done 500 deliveries and 2 were taken by another dasher and 1 was order never arrived contract violation when I did deliver it. So not super common where I’m at. I never tell the customer I have another order. That will never go well.

    Chick fil A just did that to me a few days ago when I went to pick up the order. The guy said someone had already picked it up and must have forgot to confirm the pickup. We all know that is not the case because we don't get the direction without confirming the order. As I was walking out of the building the order disappeared and I got a notification of half the pay. As for alcohol orders, I have stopped doing them because I do not feel comfortable showing some of the clerks my ID. I should not have to show my ID. I am not the 1 who made the purchase, I am only the middle person. I have to go through enough at the drop off I should not be hassled at the pickup. To top it off I am expected to drive back if the order is declined at the customers end.

    I recently received a contract violation. The customer reported it 72 hrs after she received it at her job. Now girl there are cameras showing I handed it to you.

    I had one recent contract violation. Sealed bag from Salad works. Customer said I picked up the wrong order. The label on the bag matched the order on my phone but obviously I couldn't verify contents. I disputed it and won. They probably wanted free food or maybe it really was mislabeled which should fall on the store solely.

    Last week I delivered to a motel, followed the GPS to the specified address, dropped the order off at the motel room specified, as a "leave at door"as specified. 30 minutes later got a CV. Customer said wrong motel. offer screen never specified motel name. Customer FAILED TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE INFORMATION! Turns out two motels share the same lot with the same address. One motel is not visible from the front of the first motel. DD has failed to revoke the CV. This is #3. AS usual Door Dash did a poor (Negligent) investigation and pre-maturely issued the CV. Yes I beat the other two. Still waiting on this one. NO excuse for it to still be showing! Just shows the poor character of Door Dash as a business and as I have learned from 32 years in the corporate world; the character of a business is a reflection of it's owner's character.

      This happened to me last week. There was two hotels sharing the same address. I got a cv but they removed it because I had adequate proof. The customer didn’t specify which one.

    Yes, I got my first earnings just to see how this is and I was not told that the $11.75 was not really what the offer was. It was really $4.21 and $5.59. The maps would not transfer well and automatically switched to hourly pay also food was not ready most of the deliveries. It was not a good experience for me.

    I only communicate with a customer when a restaurant can't make what they ordered. I stack orders with DD and UE and don't say a damn thing.

    I'm not happy with two or three buildings in the same place without number showing or its hidden behing bushes, specially at night.
    Also "handed to me orders", when you knock or ring doorbell and they come out and are surprised that I'm standing there, or yell from inside "leave it at the door" 😠

    Just had an “order never arrived” contract violation on a slimeball customer that wanted free food….wrote out my dispute, said the usual, picked up from correct address and dropped off at correct address, all on time….Guess What?! It actually got taken off my ratings in about 24 hours. I believe DD looked at the geo pings, saw that me and the customer were within 5 ft of each other for a ‘hand it to me’ exchange. And DD gave me the benefit of the doubt….this time

      Whenever you have a customer do this, also tell customer support to remove you from ever delivering to them again. I have done this a few times, its not worth risking getting them again.

    I do not like that DD requires us to keep our completion rate to 95%, and yet does not offer the option of "someone else already picked up the order" when we HAVE to unassign the order. Door Dash should not hold these instances against our completion rate.

      If you call DD it will not affect your completion rate. Also you can unassign any order if waiting more then 10 minutes with out a hit to ratings. Do a search on UA-cam for " How to unassign a doordash order after 10 minutes"
      It is faster than calling DD support as it is done through chatbot support in app.

    doordash has the your GPS record of the way you went to the customer when you arrived and how long you spent there so there’s not a lot of reason in tracking that part

    I got a contract violation for late arrival to chik-filet check this out I’m 20 minutes away from the restaurant they send me a already late order pick up by 11:04am when it was offered at 11:00am I messaged a live agent they said it wouldn’t effect me. It did got a contract violation still. Then they told me to appeal it I did contact violation still there.

    I have had 3-4 of non delivery violations that have been taken off. It’s not immediately applied or I don’t notice it until I go lookat my feedback. Then I have to try and remember. So I have started taking pictures of the delivery drop offs. I have told them, I don’t steal food and especially a drink or something from Wendy’s or Taco Bell!! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

    And what happens when the customer doesn't communicate at all ? I agree communicating is vital in this business and I communicate all the time but I hate the ones that never speak back

    Over the past week or so Doordash pretty much sends me exclusively bad shop and deliver orders only. I rarely get restaurant orders offered any more. Just when i thought they couldn't do more to push me out they do this.

    Have just under 500 deliveries, and I have had one time where the order was picked up by another driver. This was a late night delivery, so it came from a Taco Bell drive through. There was no one in the store to steal the order.
    Contacted support who contacted the store. The order was removed from my delivery, and I got half credit. Because of the conversation I had with the store employee, I’m pretty sure DD had a glitch, and assigned it to two drivers.
    I’m also aware, first hand, of this happening to two other drivers in the past few months, so while it is rare, it does happen.

    no. never volunteer that stacked order- UNLESS they call you on it in which case my response is “DD sends us additional orders and they demote is if we decline “

      @YourDriverMike It's a long story. I got an order that paid extremely well to go shopping. $13.00 for one item. A home pregnancy test kit. Mind you, I never shopped with the red card before. I went to Albertsons to pick it up found the item and went through the self checkout with it. I then went to my car only to find that the app wouldn't let me go any further with the delivery. I read further and it said that I was to go through an actual check out line. So back into the store I went and requested the manager. I asked him if it was possible to reverse the charge on the card AKA the red card. He tried five times to put the money back on the card to no avail. At this point the person that placed the order had contacted me a few times wondering where I was at. I txt her and told her I was having problems at the store. I told her not to worry if I had to I would pay for it myself. Anyway I ended up paying for it myself. I asked for her address left the store made the delivery because I was certain that I could resolve this with DD. I called DD several times and explained what had happened even emailed the receipt and support said that I was not to worry everything would be fine. So fast forward into the middle of the following week I received an email stating that I was kicked off the platform for committing fraud. After getting off of work from my normal job that day, I called support explained to them again what had transpired. Support then told me to write an appeal. I did that twice and basically received what appeared to be a couple of computer generated responses indicating that my services were no longer required. And that was the end of that basically. I took pride in my job and had a five star rating. Hell one time a restaurant had not filled an order properly and I went back at my expense to retrieve the rest of it. It was a breakfast order for a family in styrofoam containers in case your wondering. I tried to do a good job for DD and really took it as a slap in the face after they accused me of a fraud and dismissed me like I was a common criminal.

      They basically told me we just someone to answer the phones and make up a time frames.we don’t give a flying squirrel y u were deactivated. Talk to “special team” we won’t transfer you to or Checkr with no phone number.. 2 terrible options of help this has been the best so far thank you 🙏

      You can unassign any order after 10 mins without hurting your ratings. Do a UA-cam search for: " How to unassign a DoorDash order after 10 minutes " .
      I will never wait more than 10 mins unless I know its a good order and this trick has saved my ratings over the last few years.

    I have a store called Woodman's.
    All of the offers from this store are minimal.
    They do not reveal the tip until the order is complete.
    Twice I have had customers not tip at all.
    One was over 30 minutes away. The other, it was pouring rain.
    I am going to put there names on wall of shame to warn other drivers.

    I am EXTREMELY annoyed about the increased amount of reverse orders...(i.e. low pay, high mileage). Additionally, I am EXTREMELY annoyed that DoorDash allows no tippers!!

      @@YourDriverMike thank you for the response. I'm in the Merrillville/Schererville Indiana market. A lot of people from Gary Indiana order in that market. That's where most of the no tippers are. I average about $50-60/night.

    Outback... park in designated curbside spot. Then go stand in front of the door and stare at the orders through the glass... with longing in your heart. That Terrible 711 order, someone else canceled and everyone nearby rejected it.. my AR is about 80
    To avoid contract violations... always include house numbers in the photo, sometimes I text the customer and send a picture of the food, then use the actual photo for the house numbers. 😅

    My own problem with Uber Drives is the miles posted on Uber's App are under reporting the stated miles to pick-up a customer and the distance from pick-up to drop-off!!!!

    Also I never communicate with customers unless I know I am going to be late for a different reason. If I get a stacked order that is on DoorDash and none of the customer's business.

    I’ve done 1600 orders in my area and I’ve qualified for top dasher every time. My AR is 76% at the moment and I try to not accept an order under $2/mi.
    I also account for how long the restaurant usually takes and end location and everything. I am very picky with orders.

      Yes! Just this past week lost around 400 deliveries which seems like a huge discrepancy.

      DD at one point ( about a month or 2 ago) was having a glitch and for every order it added 2 ( 1 extra) to lifetime deliveries. They may have fixed it and may be why you lifetime deliveries went down. Mine did the same, but I also noticed it was giving more than I actually did (2 instead of 1 ). The reason I noticed it was I added up all my deliveries in earnings tab for the month, to make sure I had 100 deliveries to keep top dasher as i was taking it easy for the month doing only 25 a week. Anyway I had a screenshot of lifetime deliveries and at end of month, my lifetime was much higher than the 100 I actually did. Checking my earnings and adding up the daily deliveries confirmed I didn't do 200 , which I knew there was no way I did. Confirming DD had a glitch for at least a month adding 2 for every 1 delivery, to my lifetime deliveries. Also have a spreadsheet where I mark how many deliveries I do a day and it was way off and now it matches again.
      So if you do a lot of deliveries per week , this may be why it dropped so much. Because DD fixed the glitch and is showing actual deliveries and not inflated deliveries you didn't do.

    I lied have one more to share. I got a contract violation from a regular customer. I do like 30 deliveries a day but I knew it was them because of the resturaunt and only 2 order out of it that day. A week later the regular customer again. I used the stamp image app to send it to complete, no problems this time

    Good afternoon here in nyc I always tell people what’s going on if I’m fast the customer ask me why I passed and didn’t stop I simply explain door dash has someone’s else order first and I can’t control it even though we can pick which order to take first sometimes it’s very difficult to understand this but it happens all the time

    I work for DoorDash and Uber Eats. A.r. on DD is 72% and UE is 53%. On these apps collectively 1 and a half years and I only have to return items like alcohol twice and a nonfood item once. So I will say returns are rare.

    No, when I have two orders I will indicate on the app the first order is still being prepared (or not started until…) and text customer I’m waiting , then until I pick up the second order I will not confirm first pickup. I confirm both at the end and text the customer I’ll see them soon.

    Just because somebody picked up the order and it didn't get delivered doesn't mean that they're a thief. their car might have broke down, they might have got in an accident, they might have been pulled over, they might have gone around the corner too fast and spilled all the food. There are many reasons orders go wrong other than theft. Dont make assumptions and stay positive out there

    That dude is fortunate that they paid the driver $13 on that canceled order. Every single time I do Grubhub order, I begin to panic when I get to the restaurant because I fear that a $20+ order has been cancelled or has already been picked up by another driver. It has happen to me a number of times that I have to cancel these $20+ orders and only get compensated for driving to restaurant, which results in a dollar and change since usually I’m across the street or few blocks away from these restaurants. 🤬

    App crashes. Doordash's app is the worst thing ever. Crashes at the minimum of 2-3 times per shift where I need to do a force stop.

    Beta version is letting you complete deliveries when your no where close to the customer. Just and fyi...I usually put my phone in my pocket after I do the pick up. 7 times now I have had to call support and get them to uncomplete the delivery with custumers calling it showed you still at the resturant!

    Re 19 miles if it puts you in the zone you want to be in i will take it if I am in the bad areas without spending money. I had to return a grocery a couple weeks ago for around 4 miles. I called support 'can't contact customet'. Was told and paid to bring it back to the store.

    What gets me with DD when you get a double order you once could see how much each customer was tipping before you take the order now you can only see after you completed both orders that wrong who wants to deliver someones food for free!

    3:03 I found that certain restaurants have the signs that say wait and we will bring the order out to you, but in the special instructions, it says to come inside and pick up. I always follow what the special instructions say.

    I have not had many customer's that claimed I did not deliver, when I did, so now, I have a small dry erase board that I got at Dollartree, stickers and markers and put my name on the top, Name, Address, time, and pick up location, and I fill it out and put it next to the order I picked up , and take the picture of the board with the order, and hopefully, include the house number also in the picture, so this problem can be eliminated. Hope this helps someone

    I avoid stacks now because its less pay in my area and the risk of wrong order and getting CV. Its seriously less pay, they smash a non-tipping $2-4 ashat with a quality tipping customer. I avoid stacked, they are not worth in 2023. Doordash Algo can play with stacks too, where, they pay less in mileage, its just all bad with stacked.
    And fyi. You can switch customer drop-offs. I always select the customer i had first.

    Nope, the times do not reflect 2nd pickups, even if its double order to the same house, nor does it readjust the times at least on the drivers end. At least visually, I have not noticed a drop on the on time deliveries percentages tho.

    There are certain Dollar General stores I won’t go to because they close early, and when I mark them as closed in the app, my completion rate takes a hit anyway.

    I had a stacked order one time where 1st was a case of wine (asst.) & the 2nd was milkshakes. I delivered the milkshakes first in the other direction so they wouldn't melt. When I took the wine the dude, in a million dollar house, queried me and was a bit bent. I explained it to him but he was still perturbed. So be it. Tip was still good though.

    That $11.25 is Considering your dead head miles to the pickup location, The Actual pick up and delivery doesn't seem to be that far. If for example that run takes you back where you wann be then it's not that bad, but if it goes out of you zone or away from your house on last delivery then it would be a no go.
