The Easy Way to Curve Text in Inkscape
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 жов 2024
- There are actually several ways to curve text in Inkscape but if you want to know the easy way to curve text in Inkscape you’ve come to the right place. I can show you how to curve text in Inkscape in just a few minutes.
Most people who teach how to do this will show you how to draw a circle and then put your text on the circle. From there you edit the circle to change the curve of the text. I really don’t like doing it that way because you cannot control the text itself. You only have control over the circle. In my method I’ll show you how to curve the text in a way you can manipulate each letter in your text. This way you can curve your text around any shape you want. Not just a circle.

This is amazing! I knew inkscape had to have something better than just text on a circle.
Aww, thanks!
THANK YOU!!! I have just spent 3 hours following another tutorial on this exact same thing and have come close to tearing my hair out in frustration, lol!! And then I found this....so, so, so much easier to work!! I know you may not have the time but I really hope you can manage to show tutorials...you explain this way better than most!!!
Aww, thank you! I'm glad it was useful for you!
Crystal, I just watched your video, and I must say, you would make an excellent teacher! Your instructions were clear and precise, and your demonstration was straight to the point. Thank you very much. I now feel more confident curving text. I'm just getting into Inkscape, so I'll be definitely looking out for more of your videos. Thanks again!

OMG, Thank you so much for this video! My PhotoShop is ancient and won't read SVGs, and my text isn't defined enough. So I'm finding myself using Inkscape a lot these days. Thanks for taking the time to make this video, it really saved me because I don't want to always rely on design space, especially now that I am getting into sublimation for family gifts this year and designing stuff.
Glad it was helpful!
In order to read SVG's you need Adobe Illustrator
@@jamedlock83 Thank you. I'm not willing to pay a monthly fee. I have a Adobe PhotoShop 11 from way back that does fine for my photo editing needs that was a one time purchase. Inkscape works fine for what I need for my SVG needs as well. Just different learning it from Adobe after all these years. Appreciate the input though.
Thank You! It helped a lot!
Glad it helped!

Very nice presentation, Question - Using version 1.3 when I careate the text, select Object to Text, it changes to (in this example) 320 nodes. Has something changed in this version?

Awesome. Thanks!

You're Awesome!!!!!
Is there a way to precisely curve the text at its centre point so the curve is horizontally symmetric? I've been using this method to curve my text but it's hard to judge.
Greaaaaaat!!! Thank you
Glad you liked it!
Omg thank you
THANK YOU!
You're welcome!
Thanks. Good stuff. So much easier than Gimp or Krita.
Glad it helped!
thank you!
THANK YOU
Thank you
Thank you :)
No problem 😊
How do you move the curved text you did to fit around your image curves...thanks.
If you doubleclick on that middle line, you add an extra control point, so you have even more control.
great ! thanks
Welcome!
thank you soo much
No problem
i tried both ways and neither are working for me. i do not get the "+" after i have selected "object to path" . I confirmed it says "path" at the bottom, and not "text" and i still do not get the "+" sign in the right hand side window. please help! im so frustrated
This is great, but can't figure out how to stop my text from warping the outer letters.
thank you...
Bending the text is easy, however the nodes stay in a straight line, so how do I bend the nodes along with the text?
perfect
thanks
Thanks. I find the terms, strokes, paths, object to path, etc, confusing.
It didn't work for me. I don't know why :(
For me it didn't work, dunno why 😞
why is this so blurry-- gave me a headache. Good info, but can't see anything in detail.
It’s not blurry it’s quite clear. May be your wifi connection
Thanks 5:27
THANK YOU!!
Thank you!
You bet!
