Great tutorial again - thanks. You could have made use of the new "Ctrl Alt D" shortcut to repeat the duplication/transformation (translation) of the "lines" on the newspaper.
Quick question, how are your pen settings staying the same and not taking on the new settings (5 px, round cap)? Nice tutorial, I am going to find someplace to use a version of the rolled paper icon.
I changed the tool settings to be static like that. You can double click the tool icon and it will open the Preferences menu where you can change it if you'd like.
Thanks for the great tutorial! I had created a similar look using the pen tool, which was just painful. Question - I had someone send me an svg to add to. Using the stroke menu, I was not able change the thickness, color or end caps. Is there a setting or property that I should check that may be prohibiting changes? TIA!
Would a Fibonacci spiral be the right shape & proportion to create an offset cam clamp? (Optimum performance is cam touch point be perpendicular to pivot point)
Hey man, this is awesome. Currently watching as many videos of yours as I can. Quick question hopefully you have the time to answer, when I go to bucket fill the shape with colour at the end, I have white outlines around all my lines. Can you or anyone else here in the comments help me figure out why?
Such a creative way to use the spiral tool! Can you help me with something I'm having trouble in inkscape? I want to make a modular grid but so far I've been doing that by using a rectangle repeated with the tile clone tool, do you know an easier way to create these grids?
Does anyone else's spiral tool not work like this? I just updated to 1.3 and my tool draws a light gray spiral. I change to a color so I can see it, and it's now a thick spiral that looks like an archery target. I have to raise the stroke thickness to what I originally wanted, convert stroke to path and delete the colored portion. Works ok, but it's a whole lot of steps compared to what Nick did in this video.
Im kinda stuck can anyone help please. I made a dog tag drawing in inkscape, now it wont go away if i go all the way out of inkscape and come back in and open new doc the drawing is still there. How can i make it go away for a new doc, Thanks Dennis
Sounds like your default template got changed somehow. Just delete the image then save your empty document as the new default. Go to File > Save Template and tick the box that says "set as default template"
Excellent presentation and screen management. Thanks, Nick!!

Late to the party so hope you fixed this but I had the same and fixed it by outsetting the fill. Not sure if that's a cludge, but it worked! LOL
Fantastic! Cheers.
