Just ordered bronze. Dials up the vintage look, that is the strong point of this watch for me. Also I expect to not have to switch out the strap immediately. I must say that the black one was also tempting but with this water resistance the watch is not sporty at all :)
I absolutely love my standard 38mm Seagull, so the bronze case convinced me immediately, just ordered one 😅 looking forward to compare the two on my wrist!

Beautiful watch you lucky sod, its a watch I some how keep forgetting to buy , love vintage looking watches and this certainly fits the bills , I will keep a look at out and hopefully will buy this or the standard one in my collection
I've had the 40mm with sapphire crystal for a while now. Absolute stunner and nothing can beat the QPR of that beauty. Have to admit it has not gotten much wrist time though. Likely because of the height. Standard nato strap it came with is, if I say it nicely, awful but that is easily fixed. I like the idea of bronze case, but prefer the original design without a bezel. Dial on the bronze one looks awesome!
I’m usually not “that guy”, but the only 30m of water resistance really brings this watch down a lot for me. You’re right, don’t wear it in a rain storm. Lol Beautiful, overall design, though. @@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTORAre you sure you are correct about the swan neck regulator being different in this bronze version…I thought it was common to all 1963 and that was their appeal, that and the tooling history?

Nice update to it but it’s significantly more expensive for just a bronze upgrade, and over 80 year old movement tooling! Some of these are unfortunately unreliable so it’s pot luck on the movements. Its a beautiful looking watch and i don't need convincing as i already love my existing Seagull 63. Its obviously different but I just don't think its different enough to warrant spending £300+ on a watch that I've already got. Enjoy yours though Russell

I love brass and bronze cases so much so that they tend to be the last watches I flip. This takes one of my favorite watches from really good to almost perfect. They did good sending you one, looks like I'm not the only one buying.
I picked one up. I love my 1963 sapphire but, I bought too big. Even though I love it and it looks amazing I've always felt a bit self conscious wearing a 42. I have other 42's but they are thick bezeled dive watches and don't look nearly as large. This is a bronze case (that I love) and it will fit me better. I can't wait and it is weird being excited about a Seagull xD
