- This is my newest weight loss update where I talk about how I'm losing the menopause weight and what progress I've made. I gained weight in perimenopause like many of you and it refused to budge until I figured out a plan that worked for my menopausal body. Now I'm losing weight and regaining my health and I want to share what's working for me with all of you.

Hi ladies! People are coming for me saying a pound of muscle and a pound of fat are the same and muscle doesn’t weigh more. I know a pound is a pound! What I mean is muscle is denser so if you have the same sized amount of muscle and fat the muscle will weigh more so when you put more muscle on your body you will likely go up a few pounds. I obviously should have worded it better! Sheesh! Also I'm frequently asked about the fat burning collagen, anti aging collagen and trebiotic(Trim, Biocell and Axis) so I'll leave the affiliate link here in the comments(with a discount code attached) for anyone that wants to check out the products and learn more. msha.ke/kariannewright
@@oluoba6070 I go for a walk maybe four days a week.
Which Biocell do you use?
@@leighwebb4369 I use Biocell Skin but Life and Immune are good too and I use Trim chocolate.
The affiliate link doesn't seem to be giving a discount when I go to check out. Is it not working, or am I doing something wrong?

Intermittent fasting
Lifting weights
Finishing showers with cold water
Taking supplements like collagen, D3+K2, Omega 3, probiotics, Q10
I do all this, I’m 69 years old
Intermittent fasting has balanced my hormones so much and I’m losing fat and got my libido back !
You literally took 15 years off your looks. Amazing. I know you've had a tough time with hair loss, but you're a great example of confident wig wearing, and it looks terrific. I'm glad to see wigs being defistified and treated as an everyday accessory. Great work.
Thank you! You’re kind!
I'm reaching my 50s, and my weight just increased in recent years no matter how much I exercised, aches here and there, and bad acne. Yes, Kari Anne is so right. I started with her videos and I also found youtube channel with walking and other workouts, challenges and streching videos. I skipped dairy, wheat, sugar, butter, red meat and started exercising every day taking one challenge after another. Added avocado oil, some self-made coconut oil chocolate, collagen and maca to my diet. It's been 8 weeks now and my skin is better, acne gone, not tired in the afternoons, aches disappearing, weight dropping! I was doing it all wrong and when I finally faced the fact that I have to exercise and eat according to my age and gender things started to change. When I noticed the first real difference in my energy level and that aches were disappearing, I was so happy I burst into tears of happiness ❤
Happy for you ❤
Thank you for sharing your story.❤
I’d LOVE a video on the typical foods that you eat!!!!!
Yes! I'd love "A Day in the Life of Kari Anne," with diet and exercise examples.
I am now 63 and went into premature menopause at 43 as I only had one ovary left. My weight went from 57kg (125lbs) which it had been even after menopause started but then one day, boom. All this weight, and when you have never had to deal with this it is so depressing. On top of that I was diagnosed with systemic lupus and was on cortisone. My weight went up to 90kg and I could not look at myself in the mirror. I got it off by dancing at night (couldn’t go to a gym due to having osteoporosis fractures) in my pjs to 80’s dance music. Now sitting at 70kg which is still is still heavier than when I was 9months pregnant but my dr said that the 57kg is just never going to happen again, so I am happier with myself now. We are so critical of ourselves, but there is nothing worse than feeling that this body you have doesn’t belong to you. I do eat a lot of salads and very healthy food and do fast too.
At 30 years of age I was 113. At 57. I am now 212... All of this while going to the gym 4 days a week, walking, eating correctly I would say it's perimenopause and then menopause but I don't even know anymore...
I've done keto, I've done dirty keto, tried the carnivore diet. Finally gave up and settled on eating a little bit of everything...
I'm glad that you have found something that has worked for you!
I went to the gym 5 times a week and i plateauxed at 12.8lbs being 5ft 1. It stayed like this for 3 yrs. Now i know i should have been incorporating weights at this time as well as cardio. Now the weight and fluid retention is falling
@@siobhanmcneenan3253 I found that weights only helped my arms to a certain degree... Maybe I'm one of those weird people that it just doesn't work with?
Fasting helped me tremendously
@@missmadelinesadventures3278 I get the intermittent fasting... On top of keto 18 to 24 hours before I even would eat.... Could not lose one Ounce
Same here! I have tried everything too. I put on weight just looking at food. I goal is no longer to lose weight but to not put on weight. It is exhausting
Congratulations.🎉 Losing weight after 40 is so hard. I be interested in what i eat in a day video or good suggestions.
Love your videos. I will be 60 on June 30th 2024. 60 that's crazy. It's time to get back in shape.
I have found that intermittent fasting is very helpful as well cutting out seed oils (canola, soy, corn, etc) as they are very inflammatory and can mess with hormones. I very rarely eat anything pre made from a box. It makes a difference for me.
Yessss 👏
I do intermittent fasting too, it helps! Losing weight starts in the kitchen.
I looked up the products you were talking about and they are very expensive. I'm going to try rebounding, which is low impact and fun. Plus take collagen, prebiotics and probiotics, and eat clean food. Hopefully, my health will improve and the extra pounds will come off. You look terrific and an inspiration for all of us who have gone through menopause.
Yes I can't afford these products, so I'm curious which brands you're trying and I'm anxious to hear your results once you've been at it for a while. Good luck!
Rebounding is great. I watch Earth and Owl on you tube.
At least fifteen minutes a day most days .
i went to whole food vegan. When I went SOS free, that really took the weight off, and I feel good. Pre-menopause I was 140 lbs. After menopause for (for about 10 years) I was 176 lbs (in denial). Now I am 124 lbs.
That’s great! Thanks for sharing.
You’re an inspiration and encouragement!! I can’t understand why doctors don’t have a clue, at least the myriad of doctors I’ve been to, about perimenopause, menopause, and post hysterectomy. I’m so thankful to have found someone who understands….you! ❤ Thank you for sharing your journey and all you’ve learned. I figured out that less was more regarding exercise, and that being hungry stressed my body and increased cortisol. That moving more and eating less was NOT effective. Then I found you and you affirmed it and gave me confidence. 🥰
Smart lady! You seem to have it figured out.
I'm 40 in premenopause, night sweats and hormones up down and irregular periods too this channel helps me too
You might want to look for a holistic doctor in your area. They would be better able to help you than a traditional medical doctor would. I just started going one about a month ago. I found out through all the testing she had me do that I have yeast (candida), leaky gut, and inflammation. She is going to put me on a special diet and some supplements to treat those things. I hope it works! I love this channel too (I’m 46). I have learned so much from her.
Great job Kari! Great information as always ❤
Rebounding is also an excellent low intensity exercise.... 15min a day makes a huge diffwrance over a 3 month period.
Unless you suffer from back problems
Thank you for your channel and all that you do! you're a blessing to those on this journey 🌼
Thank you too much for your update and sharing in your road to success. This is soo encouraging!!
I'm so happy for you! After everything you have done for us, you deserve this victory, and so much more. Your willpower and determination is truly inspiring ❤
I am happy for you!
Congratulations kind lady!
You're singing my song Kari Anne ! I am so happy for you and your success 😊 I also have been stuck for years, and I hope to follow your lead. Thank you for your encouragement !
So grateful for you! 🙏❤️
Great progress! Yes, the muscle weight can be frustrating until the 2-3 week metabolism lag time elapses and you can be sure that's what the scale was reading. Always more reliable to go by how your clothes fit than the scale when strength training.
Wow! I love your video and sharing what works for you. I’m going to try your tips. 😊
Good girl. Strength training gives my Linda Hamilton guns at 57. I'm low cortisol and had adrenal fatigue so couldn't exercise for 6 months due to. So suddenly my guns went to wings so I feel you! Found a fantastic Dr to sort that and balance my hormones with HRT and I feel like I'm no longer an old lady again. Walking and strength training is definitely the way to go. I work full time as a kinder teacher and a youtuber and my functional medicine doctor in Bangkok was a blessing to find. Loving your journey. You have helped me so much with your videos
Thank you kari, you're such inspiration, I have just started exercising myself just 10 mins warm up and 10 mins light weights, still waiting to see improvements, but I feel alot better.
I just found you about a week ago. Firstly, I absolutely love your presentation. 46 here and have been going through changes that I didn’t understand. The doctors have been telling me since I was 35 that “it may be perimenopause.” I have had recent visits to the doctors, several different types in just the past few weeks as of March 2024. Your videos, the couple I have discovered, have made me finally accept and learn and understand that I am and have been in… perimenopause. Thank you
Congratulations of your progress healthy weight lose 😊
Wow! Congratulations, Kari 🎉You’re such a blessing and inspiration!
Thank you!
Well done Kari!🙌❤😊
I’m so so happy I found your channel. For about 6 weeks I’ve followed your suggestion (collagen & omega)and I’ve lost 8lbs and in my gut where I so needed it. I’ve been stuck for so long. Thank you for everything I’ve also got my stomach on the inside feeling better, I’m no longer constipated or have acid reflux choking me all night. The magnesium is helping with my sleep as well.
I’ve suffered with my hormones because I’ve had breast cancer twice and can’t take HRTs. I’ve also had brain tumor surgery and two failed back surgeries all in the past 7yrs. As well as caring for my mom who moved in with me 4yrs ago with Alzheimer’s. It’s a lot and depression sets in. I haven’t been in a relationship in 5yrs and have become a shut in. I’m hoping I regain some energy and desire soon. 😊
Celebrate those 8 pounds! I’m happy you’re seeing some progress.
YHWH bless you and strengthen you 💗
Yes I do take pre, pro and post-biopics also, multivitamin and combo B
Please post a cheat sheet on the foods you ate and the amounts. Congrats on your victory against the menopause weight gain. I'm living that life, and I'm that potato you speak of. 😢
I just eat primarily whole foods with small amounts of dairy thrown in. Fruit, veggies, chickpeas, nuts, seeds, greek yogourt, cottage cheese, multigrain sourdough bread a couple of times a week, sweet potatoes. Things like that. Chia pudding with protein powder and fruit is my favourite.
Do you eat meat, fish and chicken at all Kari
@@wendyanderson5510 No I don’t.
Good for you! Weight hasn’t been an issue for me yet( lest I jinx myself) but i sympathize with anyone because people can be nasty ride and blame you for being an overrated or some such bs.
I appreciate your videos and all the comments supporting each other!
My biggest issue right now at 42 is brain fog/ forgetfulness and very itchy legs/ dry skin.
WOW, congrats so happy for you
I just turned 46 y/o and moving into perimenopause. I find that yoga 5 days a week and pilates has really kept me lean, but strong. I also suffered from muscle atrophy and adrenal fatigue. So now l am mindfully moving slowly into regaining muscle and strength using resistance bands and a pilates bar. Nothing crazy! Eating mostly clean ,but treats in moderation. I am 119 lbs. on average and kept off the 75+ lbs. I lost since 2016. It's really about balance and finding what works for your body.
That’s great! Thanks for sharing.
Congratulations on your weight loss. Thanks for sharing your tips 😊😊

I lost 30 pounds as I was leaving perimenopause and starting menopause. Now that I'm officially post-menopause, I've added back 10 of those lost pounds. Just found your channel as I know I need to change my weight loss plan after talking to my gyno. What worked just last year will not work anymore, sigh.

You are doing a great job💪💜💙I don't know your height but the weight looks fine. I do believe the low impact exercises are the best. Thank you for sharing, Kari. Happy Easter weekend to you❤️
I’m 5 foot 2 and I’d like to get down to 125 pounds. Happy Easter!
Good job!!!!!
Thanks for explaining this. I’m 29 days in and 0 lbs lost. I do have more muscle tone. I am not doing high intensity workouts so that’s not the problem. I am eating 1600-1700 calories a day when before I was eat 2500-3000 😅 I am doing weights so that’s what’s helped me gain muscle but I’m still flabby flabbersons. My pants don’t fit any better either.
I've actually gone back to moderate intensity step aerobics and increased my calories as well
I'm 40 had night sweats off and on perimenapause, periods are irregular too , yes a lot of flab skin lose , well muscle that is ,
I am currently on a weight loss plan starting january fifth 2024. I basically gave up sugar's processed foods and have been keeping my diet keto style. I do cardio and weight training at the gym 4 to 6 times a week. And I just started doing a 20 hour fast. And I am losing weight about a pound a week and so far I love it. Was 193 now 170.
Wonderful! Congrats! Be proud!
I start walking again post retirement, also cutting down on sugar and carbohydrates.
I just over the past two months got the menopausal belly hips and thighs. I’m a lifetime WW member and in this short time reduced my food intake to below WW lowest for me to lose weight nothing. I’ve been doing chair yoga and weight lifting for 6 weeks. Just a gain. Looking forward to this video.
It’s a huge frustration for sure.
Thank you so much! Please share what you eat regularly
I eat primarily whole foods with tiny amounts of dairy protein thrown in. Fruit, veggies, chia seeds, beans, nuts, chickpeas, sweet potatoes, cottage cheese, greek yogourt, soy milk(for chia pudding). I eat multigrain sourdough bread a couple of times a week as well and wraps occasionally. Things like that. I do eat goodies here and there as well because I am human and they are yummy.
Congrats! I’m struggling to lose the same 20ish lbs. it’s a nightmare. I’m experimenting with something I didn’t want to do…a modified keto…adding butter and macadamia nuts, macadamia nut oil. I tried keto years ago and ate way too many nuts and got sick. Swore never again. So I am still eating carbs, just lower carb bread to slather the butter on…time will tell if this works. Ugh. ❤
Hi everyone 👋🏼…I already told of my weight loss of, now 10lbs due to following Karis suggestions. I have been thrilled at the results of weight loss especially around my mid section which has been impossible to lose since I’ve been going through menopause. But, I’ve recently noticed improvement in my skin issues. Since menopause I’ve been itchy and bumpy had psoriasis start on my elbows and lots of skin tags and other bumps. I’m not sure what of the new vitamins and minerals have helped but the skin tags are falling off and dryness has improved tremendously!!!! I can’t believe it!!! Thank you so much for making me feel not so alone and actually suggesting things that really works!!! 👍🏻😃😃😃👍🏻
Oh I’m taking….collagen, pre,
Pro and post biotics, magnesium, B vitamin, D vitamin and a multi vitamin for 50+ women. I also take ACV each morning and have increased my water intake. I’m gonna also add castor oil to my regimen for only skincare. The only food intake I’ve changed was adding Blueberries 🫐, yogurt, bananas 🍌 and oatmeal . I do need to increase my activity and plan to. 😊😊😊
That’s wonderful! The collagen and pre/pro/post biotics can both ameliorate skin issues. They help me a lot with a list of things. I’m so happy you’re seeing some improvements.
Congratulations 🎊 👏 i have been working out for last ten years . Before was cardio class hitt i got bored of that went into jym lifting weights 🙃 😒 i love it . Unfortunately you can weight more due to muscle. I trying to no weight my self. I really want to focus on how i feel. Weighing yourself is not Helping
I think the BMI charts are an outdated method of measuring ideal weight and health. You need that muscle mass for bone health and to burn more calories. I'll give you an example: I went to the gym with a lady that was frustrated that she couldn't get below 140. None of us could believe she weighed that because she was tiny (size 3), but she got on the scale and sure enough, she was 140 pounds. It was because of the weight training we were doing. Ever since then, I look at my clothing size and how I feel. I joke that I don't care what I weigh as long as I can fit into a 10 again. 😂 I hope you have much success and feel better than ever!
nothing takes the weight off a woman like strength training.
I’ve been doing CrossFit and boot camp with heavy weights for years, it’s hasn’t help me keep off menopausal weight.
@@kellygreen761 menopause weight is so stubborn!! in my 30’s & 40’s it (st.train.) kept the weight off bt now in my 50’s it’s nutrition.
At 55, post menopausal finally, I get tears with every video of yours I watch. For over 10yrs I’ve been told I have an auto immune disorder, drs run every test they have, sending samples all over the country, then say 🤷🏻♀️ no idea what’s wrong… This has happened repeatedly. You have given me more than hope, I finally have good information! I’m so very grateful to have found you ❤

My stress level would definitely rise if I didn’t do high level cardio! 😄 Low level cardio such as fast walking wasn’t doing anything for my health when I was in menopause so 8 years after menopause I started adding moderate to high level cardio back into my workouts. I felt better, had much more energy, had better cardiovascular fitness (lower blood pressure) and incredibly lower blood lipid levels that continue to go down each year. I’m in my mid 60s and highly recommend high intensity cardio for women after your physician’s OK. You might need to build up to it if you’re not used to it. The relationship between cortisol and cardio isn’t an issue for everyone.
inspiring!
Hi! I’m glad this has worked for you but I need to ask a question. Do you ever look at the habits and daily activities of pre- and post menopausal women who aren’t needing to lose weight? Maybe there’s a clue there.
Collegan peptide really helps with my knees and hand arthritis,
I'm 2 weeks in on collagen and I'm already seeing improvement in my hip stiffness and pain. I know it will take time to see major improvements, but to notice any this early on is so heartening. I'm finally hopeful that I can feel healthy and capable again.

Hi Kari. Do you know maybe of a good fat burning collagen in the UK or EU? I can’t seem to get hold on the one you recommended here in the UK 😢
It is available in the UK.😊 Here is the link. Https://modere.co.uk/3485745
If you need the EU link I have that too.
It would be such a blessing if you could explain the details of your plate and what the difference is in whole carbs v carbs. Also, the types of weight exercises you’re doing. ❤

Morning what are your thoughts on black seed oil and evening primrose? Do they help with anxiety and sleep? Is it good to take for menopause? Thanks
I don’t know much about black seed oil but many women use evening primrose oil for things like hot flashes and moods. I’ve never used it but some women say that it helps.
Weights are necessary at this time instead of loads of cardio
I've also lost 13 kg since I'm in menopause and it's still there 😔 but I'm still trying, with a balanced diet and walking. I suffer from insulin resistance so my struggle is even greater. I laugh to tears😂 YOU ARE GREAT☺️👍👍👍
I’m diabetic so I’m also insulin resistant. I understand the struggle.
Kari, there are so many packages of the Modere it is confusing as to what to buy and they seem to come in collections. Which do you and your sister take exactly?
The fat burning collagen can be bought by itself or as part of a weight loss system called the Lean body system. My sister used the lean body system for 3 months and now uses the Trim on it’s own with Biocell Life and Axis Trebiotic. I use Trim chocolate, Biocell Skin and Axis Trebiotic. If you click on this affiliate link then click on collagen sciences and then Trim and scroll down a ways you’ll find it. It’s like 20 products down. I don’t know why Trim chocolate isn’t first. It’s crazy popular. Https://modere.com/3485745
What supplements are they that you’re using? Could you share?
I use a fat burning collagen(Trim), an anti aging collagen(Biocell) and a pre/pro/post biotic in one(Axis Trebiotic). I’ll leave you the affiliate link(with a discount code attached) in case you’re interested in checking them out. Https://modere.com/3485745
You are so funny I love it
What probiotic do you use? I’m vegan so no-go for collagen. For 8 yrs I’ve had severe hot flashes/disrupted sleep/bladder issues and over all pain that intensified so bad (especially since I had my ovaries removed 4 years ago) that I caved in and started on bio-identical hormone therapy. The pain and sleep issues are 90% better. Still have hot flashes and bladder problems. My biggest issue is weight gain. I used to be extremely heavy (300lbs) but after a crazy long up and down weight loss journey I’ve maintained a healthy weight for 25yr. I’m WFPB Vegan, minimal to no gluten, processed or sugar PLUS I exercise every freaking day - and go swing/lindy hop dancing 3-5 x’s per month! Yet the scale is slowly creeping up. I’m lost as to what I should do.
The trebiotic that I take is listed as vegetarian so it wouldn’t be suitable for you.
Wow😊
Kari, do you have a video that details what you eat?
Yes I have a video that covers my diet, exercise, supplements and skin care. ua-cam.com/video/tV7mElzxFYc/v-deo.htmlsi=ZXNfQ-HkhWhXN1t0
Do you have any recipes we could try?
What type of recipe? My diet is pretty simple. I’ve shared my chia pudding recipe a few times. It’s my favourite.
Would taking your measurements now be more effective than weighing yourself as an indication of progress since muscle weighs more?
Yes! Muscle is much denser than fat so it takes up less space so as you build muscle the scale may not move but your clothes will be looser because you’re losing inches.
I'm in perimenopause and I'm 51 and last year , I was gym rat literally and starting taking ALLI diet pills to lose the weight and I did but I plateau and stopped losing weight so I read you should do lifting weights and I did that started to lose weight again and until I stopped losing weight again so I read collagen helps with weight lost and I took that and it helped little bit until it stopped again on losing weight and I'm always tired and moody and not myself at times and have my good days and bad . This year , I'm on another diet which is Nutrisystem and stated to lose weight again but I am wondering when the losing weight will stop again and when the roller coaster will stop with my up and down weight and symptoms . very frustrated and times feel like giving up .
It can be very frustrating and challenging to get the weight off in midlife.
So where do I find out what foods we need to eat.? Can I get this liquid collengen in the UK.? I am a bit overwhelmed by what food stuffs and what supplements I need to take . Kari can you write a book on it , cheers hun , lol ❤
Yes you can get the fat burning collagen in the UK. I’ll leave the UK link with the discount code attached here for you. If you eat more Mediterranean style you will be fine. Mostly whole foods like fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, lentils, chickpeas, whole grains and if you eat meat small amounts of lean meat and fish. They eat dairy but sparingly. Https://modere.co.uk/3485745
Are there any vegan collagens available and what is the prebiotic you take?
No collagen is animal based. The vegan options are collagen boosters but do not contain collagen. I take a pre/pro/post biotic in one but it’s listed as vegetarian. It’s not vegan either.
