    There is conflicting information on dairy being inflammatory and also helping inflammation. I eat Greek yogurt and drink Kefir every day. I love it

      Yes true, in general yogurts and some cheeses have negligible lactose including kefir so can be well tolerated even by those more sensitive to it so that’s where the conflict arises I imagine.

    Thank you for sharing, I know you're reluctant to do so since many people will immediately mimic your routine when you have chosen it based on trial and error for a few years now. And you're not a doctor, so having people treat you as if you are one is uncomfortable, I am certain.

    Kari Anne I love your videos and they get me laughing even though I haven't been laughing about these changes except when I'm watching your videos. I've been a big fan of chia seeds for a long time and I just add them to water and make a gel and then I add a T. of that twice a day to chocolate hemp milk and it's pretty tasty that way and is a lot of good omegas. But what I wanted to share with you is that I have been doing Chi Gung (very much like Tai Chi) for 20 years. And the best routines I have ever found are by Gaia with David Dorian Ross AM Chi for Beginners which is 20 minutes and there are a few inverted poses you can skip or sit on a chair and just do it without bending over. And then there is PM Chi with C.J. McPhee again 20 minutes and not much inverted if any in that one. These are THE best and available as streaming on Gaia but also available on some older DVD's if you can find the (that's how I first found them and they are just add ons but the best routines). It takes a little bit to be able to follow along and that is normal, but these help with stress relief and strengthen some things like core a bit. It is ok to modify them and visualize them even. It works energetically and in ways that are much different than other types of exercises. It is very much shown in research to reduce falls which we may not be worried about now, but by starting now we could know we are doing something about that issue. I hope that this helps someone. I have tried some other Chi Gung options but keep coming back to these.
    I just have to say that what your videos have done for me is validate what I have intuitively figured out with exercise and diet and I had been hard on myself for doing what actually is just what I need to do at this stage. So you have given me permission to be ok with not doing intense cardio workouts that were making me feel terrible and reducing my functioning. And you have helped me validate my whole experience through peri to post menopause and every one of my unusual symptoms that I assumed only happened to me. So thank you!!! (I have only found your videos recently and have only watched a few, but I want to learn more so I'll be on here laughing and learning with y'all).

    I’m 56 and post menopausal. I have a daily dose of collagen and attempted Hum plant protein powder for a week but I couldn’t tolerate the taste and chalky texture:( I’m vegetarian, so animal protein is not an option. With my demanding full time job, there’s no time nor energy for both exercise AND dinner, so I choose dinner because I’m EXHAUSTED and HUNGRY when I get home each day. If retiring/ not working was an option, I could focus more on these things. Maybe someday…

      @@kjohnsonshelton0923Hi kjohnsonshelton0923 I do understand being too exhausted to workout. I'm 61 and I still work a full time job and I work nights. I would come home and veg on the couch and spend time either watching TV and/or on social media and say I didn't have time to exercise or was too tired. Now instead of coming home and vegging on the couch, I immediately put on my workout clothes and do half hour workouts that include cardio, weight lifting and stretching and before you know it you're done. Grow with Jo is a popular young lady here on YT and she is very motivating and she has a variety of workouts. I use to do hour long workouts and it was all or nothing and most days it was nothing and I would feel terrible for not working out but now you can get the most out of half hour workouts and feel accomplished, energized and great.

      I don’t eat meat but I take the liquid collagen. I’ve chosen to make the exception for my health. I’m functioning now with a lot less aching and soreness so I know the collagen is restoring my body somewhat. Kari, why do you not eat meat? Can you share? 🙂

    • @KariAnneWright
      @KariAnneWright  5 місяців тому +1

      I don’t like it and I don’t think meat is the healthiest choice. I was vegan for years but started adding small amounts of dairy protein in midlife because I need the extra protein to build and keep muscle now. My kids eat meat and that’s fine. We all make our own dietary choices but it’s not for me.

    Hi KariAnne…I am in perimenopause right now, and suffering with terrible anxiety, depression, hot flashes, and gut problems (not going enough 😞) plus acid reflux.
    I’m really interested in trying collagen, but I am actually at a low weight, trying to gain a little. My anxiety affects my appetite, making me not want to eat. 😫
    I wanted to try the ones that you use, but wondered if I should avoid the fat burning one? Also, I take multivitamins for women over 50…I’m 54. I am wondering if I should be taking separate vitamins the way you are? Would that be more effective?
    Thank you for your videos. They are so encouraging! I am truly grateful to you!

      The fat burning collagen also helps with body composition and maintenance of lean muscle so I will continue to use it several days a week when I reach my goal weight. You don’t have to avoid it but you also have the option of the Biocell collagens. I use Biocell Skin, Hair & Nails. They both contain the triple collagen matrix but they help with other specific things as well. The Biocell I use has biotin added for healthy hair, nails and skin. I’ll leave you the affiliate link so you can check them out. A multi is ok but I prefer to just use vit. D, b12 and magnesium on their own. Https://modere.com/3485745

      Hi @KariAnneWright
      I started the Lean Body System last month and just ordered for this month. You mentioned that you don’t take a full dose of the trebiotic. How did it make you feel that you needed to lower the dosage? I’m not sure if I’m putting too much Trim in my spoon. I fill it to the top.

    • @KariAnneWright
      @KariAnneWright  5 місяців тому

      @@terriaragones5611 I never took a full dose of Axis. I started with 1/4 of a dose for about a week. I had stomach pain for 2 days and one day of bowel upset then I was fine. After a week once my body adjusted I went up about 1/3 of a dose and waited about a week for my body to adjust then up to just under 1/2 a dose. I’m happy there. My anxiety is improving as well as my digestion, my skin and my intolerances so I think it has mended my gut enough to thrive at 1/2 a dose. It takes time. I also eat pre and probiotic foods. It’s the same with the collagen. The longer I’m on it the better I feel. It takes time for your body to reverse or improve some of the issues caused by collagen loss. I will always have Biocell in the house for sure.
