Update: The powdered collagen I was using(in the video) ended up being unhelpful. I have since started using a liquid collagen that has been a true blessing for me. It has improved my discomforts by 50-60% so far and a list of other things. The liquid has a higher bioavailability so look for a liquid. 😂I mentioned fatigue twice when I was talking about vitamin b12. Oops! Sorry! Menopause brain!🤣

Believe me, you're not alone. I feel depressed because I have a menopause belly and I should look before menopause: very skinny.
I eat only plant-based foods, no sugar anymore, I watch my salt intake and no oils. I also exercise carefully so that I don't stress my body and cause a spike in cortisol.
I am sooo fed up with this menopause belly. It's driving me crazy. Thinking about getting liposuction because I'd rather not take HRT medications.

Thank you so much for bringing awareness to these issues many women suffer from and it’s just not talked about or researched nearly enough. I’ll be 41 tomorrow and I think I’m in peri. Just don’t feel myself. Anxiety, weight gain, dizziness, palpitations, heavy periods that are becoming closer together, mood swings, night sweats, this feeling of being disconnected and hard to focus. I could go on. These videos have been so helpful and having other women comment with their experiences has been so comforting. Thank you thank you thank you for helping and making it lighthearted and funny.

I’ve chosen not to go the HRT route. The saviour for me has been Intermittent fasting & supplements.
My symptoms (hot sweats, bloating, low mood, relentlessly painful breasts, sleeplessness, depression, anxiety)
All these symptoms virtually disappeared within two weeks of IF & have never returned.
I honestly feel better than I did in my 20s, my skin is great & I’ve lost weight. No matter how much exercise I did or diets I tried previous to IF, the weight just wouldn’t shift.
Supplements I’ve been taking for over a year are vit B complex, vit D, magnesium, calcium, biotin, collagen, iron & a chewy called meno balance.
I drink lots of water, two glasses of Apple cider vinegar daily & I exercise five days a week.
One thing I will say is that IF should be done slowly. Start off at 16/8 then after a few weeks add a couple of hours extra fasting time.
Now I only usually eat in a 4 to 6 hr window & I never eat after 6pm. I also do 2x24hr fasts a week & 2X36 hr fasts a month it’s taken me a year to get here but it has been 100% worth it.

Just ran into your videos this week. I feel like I’m dying. I don’t recognize myself at all. I’ve put 15 pounds on in 6 months. I’m anxious all day to the point I shake and the panic attacks are increasing. The hot flashes are all day and night. I know I’m not alone and my husband is wonderful but I feel alone and helpless. Same here - except the flushes - I have the shivers. I could live with flushes - but not with heart palpitations, gut wrenches like I'm on a roller coaster - which initiates the elevated heart rate that can lead into tachycardia in my case, feeling floaty and out of balance, body vibrating internally. Frozen shoulders etc. I can't even walk down the street without having to call someone to pick me up because I can't make it back. The mask mandate the last 2 years put me into a frenzy, as I was thrown out of Dr's offices and diagnostic centres - 'cos I simply couldn't wear a mask with these issues. I'm finally seeing a Dr. recommended to me after 2 years.

I 100% agree with Omega vitamins for pain. I had leg cramps while I was pregnant. One person recommended them for the pain. I added flax, walnuts and sunflower seeds to my daily diet, and got cramps any day I skipped them. I kept up this habit long after having my son. When I was moving last month, I was skipping this because I packed everything. I could literally feel the cramps and pains kicking in, so I bought more to get me through the last few days before the move. I'm 42 now and I feel better than I did earlier in life. I get a lot of sleep, eat a plant based diet, I cut coffee because it sticks with me longer than most people. I don't think most people realize how much diet can change their life.

I can mine and it doesn't congeal after canning. I think I will start freezing some whenever I make a big batch to can. Maybe it will help keep the collagen in tact.

Many women may be able to take HRT based on updated guidelines that include no limit on length of treatment. If your doctor is limiting your HRT be sure to go see a specialist who is knowledgeable about the very recent (2023) protocol changes. Almost all women can take some form of HRT with many more health benefits and far lower risk than previously understood.

We are at a time in life where we need to look after ourselves and find that we are looking after others more than ever which adds to a massive stress load. Time to say ‘enough and no thanks’ to demanding situations… IF we can learn how to do that. It would really help all the menopausal problems to be able to give TIME to our health management, once we have the tools. Then we can go to work on it. That’s our JOB now.

I find what helps me is to remind myself I am okay and it is no big deal. It will pass and breathe deeply. It always passes. If I am in the car I roll the window down a little. The air helps me feel better for some reason.
I eat whole grains, avoid sugar and flour. I avoid rice and pasta. I eat healthy mixed nuts for breakfast. I add chick peas, pinto beans and potatoes to meals and skip the bread, rice and pasta. I drink lime juice every day. I eat a Flintstone vitamin twice a day and make sure to get calcium. The most important thing is diet.

You have provided me with so much information. I have the intense itching, till I scratch myself up. Insomnia is a nightmare 😭 As I write this, I have been up for over 24 hours because my brain won’t slow down to let me sleep. I’m already irritable, but now I can cry at the drop of a hat. I will be 50 in April. I already have depression and anxiety, which I am medicated. I can’t take HRT because I have a heart problem. So, I listen carefully to what you say. You have helped me the most, because you’re very thorough with details and explanations. I think I also am getting the phantom periods… not a fan. My actual periods are still right around 28 days apart, give or take a few days one way or the other. They’ve been consistent, but my 2nd day is the worst for heavy flow. I’m not embarrassed to share that I wear adult disposable underwear to bed at night because it makes such a mess if I wear a pad with underwear 🙁 Thank you for sharing all your knowledge.

Thank you for these tips. As a recent breast cancer survivor on hormone suppression, for the next 5-10 years, menopause has been worse than living with and having fibromyalgia.
HRT is not an option as estrogen and progesterone feed my cancers. Some days I feel so overwhelmed and in pain. It’s so tough. Will definitely put these tips to good use. Need to increase my fiber for sure.

An interesting thing I discovered is that I never get hot flushes while I am intentionally exercising. For example: I've been a cyclist all my life and only recently realised I never get hot flushes while I ride a bike or use a rowing machine? However I will get flushes when simply walking about or just getting up from a chair. Weird eh If only I could ride all day😂

I am 46 years old and have menigema and i am in my prei- manopauzal phase,i did a Craniotomy in 2018, during my recovery i noticed that i hadn't had my menses for the past 5 months. Then it returned every other month, i went to the my gynocolgist and she gave me a form to get an ultrasound done, the tech said my eggs were very low. So my estrogen was low too. I knew this was going to happen sooner than most women, but i wasn' t mentally prepared for this. Thank you for making these videos honest and helpful, i feel like ME again.😊

Many thanks for sharing your tips about managing menopause. I am starting to experience some of the symptoms including the fluffy belly and overall weight gain. I started to engage in low-medium impact simple cardio exercises (fast walking with light weights), upper body weight training, qigong, stretches, and using a vibration plate every other day. So far, the exercises do help. My next plan is to establish my supplement regimen. Thank you for sharing the supplements on your video. I hope both steps will help alleviate some of the symptoms.

Thank you, Kari, for putting all these great videos out there. I’m 68 & post-menopausal, but still dealing with occasional hot flashes. They’ve formed a pattern that’s almost predictable. Not really. They still feel like I’m being microwaved from the inside out. I guess just mentally knowing it won’t last long & usually they’re not quite as severe as before helps, but they still manage to catch me by surprise. I’ve found that I can occasionally get past the one that hits me 10-15 minutes after I get into bed by concentrating on total relaxation. If I can get the muscle spasms in my neck & shoulders (I have nerve damage from a disc that decides to blow up into a kazillion pieces) to relax, I find I can get to sleep before the hot flash hits. Once asleep, they usually won’t wake me up. But they suck whether I expect them or not. 😂

I was having multiple hot flashes a day (and night). I was at my chiropractor for adjustments and he noticed I was having a hot flash in front of him. I mentioned some other things going on. He ended up adjusting my ileocecal valve, which was stuck open, allowing toxins back into my small intestines. This was causing a constant stress inside my body. I also began taking Chaste Tree. Since then, the hot flashes have gone away, and external stressor have become easier to cope with.

    • @SM-zm5hz

Was the adjustment of the ileoceccal valve a one off ? Or it took a few adjustments ? Thanks

    • @crisramsey6757
      @crisramsey6757 7 місяців тому

@SM-zm5hz For this, it was mostly the one time from him. I have had issues with it in the past, so I knew it needed work anyway. I just didn't realize that adjusting it could have this level of effect! I have learned a few strategies to work on it myself to try to keep it in check, but sometimes, it just needs someone else's skilled hands to whip it more into shape! My hot flashes have been well controlled since. I have had a few nights sweats and once or twice during the day since. I refuse to do "traditional" HRT, considering my poor tolerance of BC pills in the past. I will stick to diet, natural supplements, chiropractor appointments about every 6 weeks and reducing stress to the best of my ability.

Hi Everyone! Its really great to finally know where so many of my symptoms stem from. I would also like to mention MSG it's in many foods and causes a wide range of health problems. I get very sick with just one bite of food that contains msg it causes headache, dizziness, fatigued, nausea just to name a few. I have found msg in a lot of oriental foods which is a bummer bc I love it! I also found meat tenderizer that contains no msg so that's helpful bc I didn't even realize how many products actually contain msg. We have a local chicken restaurant I love but cannot eat bc their breading has msg. And once you realize the symptoms your experiencing are from msg you'll always recognize right away if you eat something containing the msg. I don't even know what msg actually is, huh, maybe I should find out. I just always assumed its some type of seasoning. If you know please leave me a comment. Thank you!

After a short, brutal battle against Stage 3/4 aggressive, breast cancer. I'm 50, had my 1st mammogram, supposed to be clear. This cancer hides in the lymph nodes, when it is detected, it has already spread. I also take garlic, yeast, kelp, multi vits, vit D, turmeric tablets & cod liver oil. Not feeling as rough as I was, I've been off the HRT for about 3 months now. The fact it has a link to cancer was enough for me to stop taking it.

Bio-identical transdermal HRT actually has a very high safety profile and has been extensively studied.
The cancer/HRT connection was a result of the WHI (Women’s Health Initiative) Study done many years ago and had to be ceased due to the rise in cancer cases. This was because the women in the study were being treated with synthetic HRT (estrogen which was from pregnant horses urine ‘Premarin’, & synthetic progesterone, a progestin, in tablet form) - they have been linked to an increase in cancer risk but transdermal bio-identical HRT (patches, creams & Utrogestan which is a micronised natural progesterone) has not.
Bio-identical HRT has made a huge positive difference to so many women’s lives!
I think it’s such a shame that so many women suffer needlessly without any bio-identical HRT to help them. 🥺

I think 💭 about it now and when I’ve felt those popping feelings then hours later go to the bathroom 🚽 I see discharge so I wonder 💭 if that has some relation but not sure! I’m at the end of my period🩸cycle not really bleeding🩸 it’s actually looking like a ending of pinkish color (weird) I’m feeling female stomach area low area uncomfortable I’m not sure I would say it feels like cramping it seems hard to describe! I don’t know if it’s related to constipation situation! also it’s weird because I have digestive/gi issues of some kind it’s like I notice once I eat not long after how does my low female stomach area start feeling uncomfortable no way food has traveled that fast 💨 when I think 💭 I have a slow digestive issue going on! I can’t eat much it has to be small portion meals and I basically eat the same thing everyday! I get full fast 💨 like late last night I think iI over are too much too soon too close together with my meal then snacks after! I WAS SO SICK for hours after eating and it’s almost 5pm and I haven’t eaten yet today yet because I’m scared 😱 to eat after feeling that bad and I honestly don’t feel that hungry! my snack last night was I think 💭 I overate cheese 🧀 and ritz crackers I ate like 6 😱 that’s a lot for my tiny stomach system! then I ate a small cup of apple 🍎 sauce then I ate a couple honey 🍯 crackers 😱 my stomach systems were so SICK! I wonder 💭 if the crackers being wheat causes my stomach to me so sick it was my food stomach and female stomach area that was so sick! then I thought 💭 no matter what I would eat in probably would’ve had same situation happen! It was SO bad with my stomachs so sick it started to flare my heart ♥️ up! it’s a nightmare a complete nightmare this perimenopause (CRY) thank you 🙏🏻 KARI for always responding and caring like YOU do! KARI YOU are a wonderful person I’m glad I found YOU 🤍
