  • I finally unbox the motor and install it on the sawmill. I have been waiting patiently to get this Honda GX390 13HP out of the box and on to our Norwood LM29V2 Sawmill. I got to say the the motor looks sharp but I can't say that the red and orange colors look great together. But it ain't no fashion show now is it? Putting the bandwheels on, installing the clutch, wiring the safety switches to the motor and more is in this video.
Make sure to check out all the videos in the my Norwood sawmill assembly series for a step by step walk thru of a complicated process and check out the other videos I have on my channel. You might like them.
Well I'm Mountain Mike out on the Mountain. Till next time.....

Oh for sure! I just do not understand a company that will not do more for the customer by spending the time to get the small things right. I understand "the bottom dollar" but..... Thank you for your comment.

Hey buddy how are ya! Man another good video! I like the flashiness when ya unboxed the engine. Also “Norwood we need to talk”. Think they have folks watching so maybe they will reach out and talk??? Man the wiring looks messy, but I like that you greased the connections and shrink tubed the connections. A clean loom would be nice. Maybe I’ll try to get it loomed when I assemble mine. I’ll save som loom tube from the Jeep project. I am looking forward to seeing sawdust fly!!! Hey what ya gonna do about sharpening blades? I bought a pack of blades with the mill, I’m thinking that won’t last too long? Been researching blade sharpeners. I think I may go with the wood mixer BSM 25, was looking at the woodland mills geindlux 4000. The BSM 25 will take about 6 minutes per blade and the Grindlux 4000 about 16 minutes. 50 bucks difference so may go with the wood mizer?

Thanks, I hope Norwood is watching and reaches out to me. Let me know I'm not too small or too big but just a customer and they care about that. Hope they understand I'm busting their chops so to speak ...Wiring is kinda hanging everywhere. I like the idea of using wiring loom. May steal that idea from you lol....Not sure about the blade sharpener at the moment. Very costly items but very needed. I didn't like Norwood's and agree about the cost difference for the time difference. I am hoping to pay for these things with the mill. So we shall see..

I just ordered a Norwood like yours, and was curious how wide the rails are? I'd like to pour a concrete pad under the mill, but don't want it to cover the whole shed. Could you give me the measurements from rail to rail? I'll use that to pour the footings under the rails. Thanks!

Sorry for my lack of response. This comment got past me. I am sure it is to late to answer your question but if not let me know and I will give you the measurements.

Yeah the instruction book is horrible...you've got to do a lot of guessing and trial and error...unbelievable when this machine is $7500

I totally agree! With the purchase of this mill I have become to realize the absolute need for a good company to purchase from. I wish I had heeded the advice of all the complaints on Norwood and their bad customer service before my purchase. I hear a lot of good things about the customer service of a lot of other sawmill company's. Maybe next time!. Take care and thanks for the comments!

@@MountainMike01 well the sales guy it was purchased through is useless... Have called him 3 times and he's hasn't returned a call...been dealing with a female now who's actually been on the ball and got me the right parts and missing parts for the machine...I have a question for ya about the water nozzle that's on the blade guide... Is it supposed to be upward like you have it in your video? My book shows it pointed downward toward the nut on the pulley which doesn't seem right to me...

Yes, if you can get the right person, I have found things go smoothly. It is a total shame the customer has to hunt and peck the people willing to do their job.
I pointed the water nozzle down toward the blade after I went to sawing.
