    ======
"Hawai’i Aloha" features dozens of Hawai‘i’s top artists across many genres and over 1,000 youth from 10 Hawaiian charter schools - in one epic song. Recorded live across 27 locations, this is Hawaiiʻs most widely known song, used to close important gatherings of all sizes. It is a song of unity and Aloha ‘Aina (Aloha for one’s birthplace, land and home).
About this collaboration: Mana Maoli, a Hawaiian nonprofit, teamed up with Playing for Change and 4 Miles as part of their Mana Mele Project. Mana Mele features a Music & Multimedia Academy, and a Solar Mobile Studio that serves youth, as well as businesses, artists and the public - as a means to feed its programs.
About the Collective: Alongside the youth - on campus, in real world settings, and in this video, is the "Mana Mele Collective" - over 200 artists, engineers, and filmmakers who donate their time and talents to mentorships, recordings, concerts and ʻsocial enterpriseʻ services in support of these schools.

    A special mahalo to:
    * Jack and Kimʻs Johnson ʻOhana Charitable Foundation and the Adminstration for Native Americans - While the video itself was a zero budget production, funds from both of our grantors helped cover instructor and mentor stipends for our year-round afterschool/elective classes across our 10 partner schools. It was during these classes that students learned "Hawaiʻi Aloha," from singing and playing the song, to the related culture and history.
    * 4 Miles, LLC - who not only donated hundreds of hours in planning, shooting and editing the video aspect of the project, but put up substantial monies to cover their own travel costs, provide stipends for assistant crew members, etc
    * Playing for Change - PFCʻs live multi-location music video format served as the inspiration for this project. Founder/leader Mark Johnson was the catalyst for Mana Maoli to move on this idea discussed for some years prior to meeting him. He then frequently made time to assist with planning, visioning and coaching on the front end, engineering assistance and overall feedback during the production.

This mele deserves and should be nominated for a special award at next years Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. The aina of the islands belongs to the children and this song speaks volumes to that....mahalo nui loa for sharing.

Mahalo @Dan M! Not sure if there is a music video category for the Hokuʻs (do you know?). But that would be awesome to even be nominated. Regardless the feedback and comments alone have made the long process and mass joint efforts of many, well worth it. Besides subscribing to our UA-cam, we also have FB and IG pages if youʻd like to stay connected that way, and see manamele.org for more about our programs and services. Aloha nui!

Mahalo nui @James Dean! Thousands of collective hours were invested by youth, artists, production crew and others. While it was done by all as volunteers and did not yield financial retursn, its comments like this that made it all worth it. Aloha nui!

Was touch deeply; I don't know what the words are saying but the meaning moved me in a way that made me tear up deep in my soul, very very spiritual. Would love to hear or see the interpretation some day.

My fourth grade teacher taught me this song. It's so beautiful and I love it so much.
      From Wikipedia:
O Hawaiʻi, O sands of my birth
      My native home
I rejoice in the blessings of heaven
      O Hawaiʻi, aloha.
      Happy youth of Hawaiʻi
      Rejoice! Rejoice!
      Gentle breezes blow
      Love always for Hawaiʻi
      May your divine throngs speak
      Your loving people, O Hawaiʻi
      God protects you
      Your beloved ridges
      Your ever glistening streams
      Your beautiful flower gardens.
      The holy light from above
      O Hawaiʻi, aloha.

This video is getting the statistics messed with I swear because in my house alone I've watched it 10k times alone if not more and then some at other relatives and on my phone. Channel owner should get the printout or request their legal views? Just a suggestion? This song does deserve an award for all the hard work that went into it
